60 of 106 · most liked firstthe idea and concept is great, implementation is horrible. in my humble opinion that is. this is my impression and experience so far: - character and city select: The UI of this menu needs improvement big time. consider the starting map, you can click on cities to choose where to start but you cant go back to check other cities, it immediately forces you to pick between 'be a vassal' or 'be free officer/band' and auto starts the game. so just to find the faction you want to play around or join…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DO NOT BUY YET!!! I love the game and it is unfortunate that I would have to recommend people pass on it for now. The price is fair for what the game is supposed to be but that is the crux of it. This game isn't just unfinished, it's got major issues in the core of it. The good: This game is stable, as I've always said "If you do not have stability you have nothing". Great art style but if you are a fan of EVERYTHING 3 kingdoms, things will look off. There are a lot of game mechanics…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I mean... i dont want to hate on the game but I just find it very boring and repetitive. Great concept overall but not executed properly I guess. Cons: 1- Combat : Slow, not interesting at all, ai pathing is just plain stupid and I can imagine its worse the bigger the battle. 2- Micromanagement: My god ... the amount of micromangiging inventory space, leveling up, gear/equipment is insane.... I just cant understand why you dont give an option for auto leveling or auto gearing. Sure in the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No news for few months and dropped a new updates. But there are still a lot of problems with the game that I can't recommend it The game has lots of interesting concepts: three kingdoms era, famous historical heroes, character level and management system... It's addictive at first but things become boring quickly from mid game due to repetitive. Besides, character management UI need to improve. It become time-consuming, repetitive and annoying when you have many units. Half of your time will…

It pulls from Records of the Three Kingdoms, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and modern fiction to pack the Yellow River theater with 60…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not really any endgame and main story ends pretty early on so you basically just wait until the next big campaign event happens. I would pass until it gets some more updates.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While the concept is great, the game is not. TLDR: It is very grindy, repetitive, and there's just not that much to do. It's harsh but the reality is that the game is not unique and is not very good. I may not have reached most of the content or missed the point somewhere, but 9 hours in, and all I've done is grinded very repetitive, boring, and identical fetch quests with an occasional generic battle. Oh, and TWO actual main quests, that were mostly scripted with very limited dialog and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty mediocre, seem to only be three or four different types of missions so you just go in between towns in a loop. The combat system is incredibly simple but also very opaque, you just spam skills as soon as they come off cooldown with no real idea of what they're doing. The topdown perspective just makes it harder to tell what's happening and the enemies are not easily distinguishable from your allies. Translation isn't amazing so it's difficult to tell what's happening exactly and the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a mixture of Battle Brothers and Mount & Blade. Its got active skills and fights take place in real time so damage in battle spikes both ways so it is not unusual for your soldiers to go down. When units fall in battle they roll on a random injury and it is possible for random units to have crippling injuries. I have not seen a permanent injury occur on a hero unit yet so I am unsure if it affects them. It is a little hard to form a solid base at the beginning using the default difficulty…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very poorly executed combat system, it feels unresponsive and cluncky. Boring game loop of grinding procedural generated mission, scripted missions are few and far between, a very soulless sandbox. Portrait display is not aligned for cut-ins.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i put everything option easy possible and i'm still getting crushed game does not scale properly everything become way too hard way to fast i'm on like the fifth mission with girl who got poisoned and need 200 merit points for third rank up main mission and every mission too hard to complete due to enemies to high lvl running out of everything from money herbs food and material.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutly FANTASTIC rare gem here!! Strategy RPG with excellent Battle Brothers-esque party development, a metric TON of RPG features and cool stuff to discover, with story and all sorts of surprises along the way!! Def a must-play if you enjoy Battle Brothers, Wartales or stuff like that, in the very cool Three Kingdoms setting! Thanks to the devs for making this so us Westerners can enjoy too!! :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The overall gameplay flow feels rough and inconsistent. Dialogue repeats far too often, and some campaign missions stay in the quest list even after you’ve already completed them, which breaks the sense of progression. Story triggers are also strangely handled — I entered a city and immediately got a recruitment cutscene, but before I could even exit the interface, another “entering the city” scene played again. The guidance and tutorials are incomplete as well, leaving players unsure about…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Want to like it, Tediously needing to earn money and outside advancement quests far exceed your groups experience level and items. You never earn enough to have or buy nice things and your low level generals have little to no skills, the cost to replace them with better skilled generals is too great and the replacements are lower levels needing time to advance while in game events pass you by, trying them is costly injuries and loses of the units/generals you have. The more I played the worse…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mount & Blade + Battle Brothers + Three Kingdoms Story = A Masterpiece. Can’t wait to recruit legends like Lu Bu, Zhuge Liang, Liu Bei, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Zhao Yun, and even Diao Chan! I’ve been playing on Cannibalistic difficulty for about 20 hours now, and here's what I’ve noticed: Cons: 1. Quests and jobs start to feel a bit repetitive after a while. ( kill bandit, escort, find a person ) 2. Earning money is a little too easy. 3. English translation is a bit off in some places (for now).…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a diamond in the rough - for a certain kind of gamer. If you think it sounds like fun to grind out gear and level ups for dozens of minions in the style of Battle Brothers, this game is for you. It actually takes a LOT from ol' Battle Brothers, and is almost a clone when it comes to loot and leveling. Unlike that game, the combat is a bit simplified. I've heard it called an auto-battler, but to me it's more of a simple RTS style of combat. It's not deep, but there are strategies…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really want to love this game, so I'll give it a thumbs halfway. The game has many good aspects, in particular the Three Kingdoms Setting, the art and the music. The game has two modes, an open world quests and exploration map, really similar to Battle Brothers, and a real time auto battler. The general map and quests are good, in spite of some harsh translation here and there, but the auto battler fights are underwhelming. Battle Brothers had a great turn based strategic combat, really well…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been kinda trying to figure the game out, and I think I can recommend it for people who want to make a lil' duder and run around in the Three Kingdoms world. I've exclusively been playing sandbox mode, so your mileage may vary. Make a lil' duder? Yes. A few different kinds of weapons are cool. Each character you can recruit is an actual character, instead of "pile of people who do a specific thing". I also haven't found archers, so there's also that. The English is surprisingly good most…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have a deep appreciation for this game. As a massive fan of the Three Kingdoms, it aligns perfectly with my interests, and I am truly enjoying my experience with it. My sincere hope is that the developers will commit to this project in the long term and not abandon it. It has immense potential, and I would love to see the team continue to develop the game by adding more generals, expanding the map, and releasing new campaigns. Please keep up the great work!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →30 hours so far a simple some of the things I like and dislike are... Likes: -Auto battle / manual battle control. -Variety of characters + custom characters to play with. -Epic historical characters to learn or relearn. -Same open world strategy resource management style like Mount & Blade, Wartales, and Sands of Salzaar. (if you liked those) -No weapon lock. (sort of) *Any character can use any weapon, but some characters may show early signs that they are better off using a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As far as I have played, I would say it is a fun game with pretty decent content. It is kinda like battle brothers combined with some mount and blade actions in three kingdoms era. One thing to note is that like most of the Chinese indies, the grind is insane. The story missions are made so hard and unfair to you that you need to grind hard and collect decent generals and soldiers before you do them. I have seen others saying unresponsive controls but the game's combat system has something…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you are someone who like Romance of three kingdom and like bannerlord style of gameplay this game is for you. Wait for sale if full price is too pricey. After 156 hr, I can say it worth it, been playing non-stop for a week. There was a moment when i think "is there better gear in the game" and then found out that there was better gear. Pro: Skill lvl through usage small to large scale battle skill tree to assign points bannerlordish gameplay Con: grindy repetitive end game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are a lot of hidden missions and dialogues in the game that people can miss if they treat this as a band of brothers clone. This game is RTS battle brothers with a Chinese theme, with multiple major battles. Its focus surrounds the prelude and the Yellow Turban. Therefore the region is focused in the North. People that complain about the repetitiveness, but praise Battle Brothers are hypocrites. The combat is unique in that its cooldown focused, so think Parasite Eve or any active time…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a fun strategy RPG. It's a different take on the mythology of the romance of the three kingdoms, although that specific name is copyrighted. Like many strategy games, it can get very grindy. Like many translated games, it can be difficult to understand what they are trying to get you to do. Like anything historical, it teaches you geography without thinking much about it. It seems to have leveling / balance issues. You can get swatted like a fly away from some early yellow…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's fairly boring at the start and honestly, it doesn't feel like it'll improve. It's like a worse battle brothers
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game buy it and support. But Dev need to add Auto- Equip
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is flawed but highly addictive. The combat system is passable - for those who came in from Battle Brothers, what they took from BB is more the leveling and exploration system rather than the combat, which lack detailed tactical elements and feels more RTS-like, at times almost like an auto-battler. Levelling up and getting a crew feels a bit grindy until you get to the mid game, when more of the "Three Kingdoms" element comes in and you start to see story elements, and your crew lacks…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best game genre. Currently content is probably just 10-15% of Taiko Rissenden, but please keep at it and work at it. Make it a timeless classic in years to come! I will buy all your DLCs. Jia You!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of those games that I wish Steam would allow a Mixed review instead of just Yes or No. Pros: + Sandbox RPG in ancient China (or at least the Central Plains) is fun, + Bonus points for being able to recruit Three Kingdoms officers to be your bros, Neutral: . Combat is okay-ish, it's fun to build the characters to your liking, but combat could evolve to having so many characters on the field very fast that you don't really have much strategies to utilize, especially when battle maps…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The translation isn't very good, but the game has an interesting system, including character customization with RPG elements. It's similar to Mount & Blade, but in 2D and set during the late Han dynasty in China. The combat and battle UI are well done and feel exciting. The story dialogues are quite long, which is likely why the developer has difficulty translating them into English. It's still a bit rough, but I still recommend it. If the developer can improve the translation, this could…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty good. "Battle brothers" -like is a type of game that should exist. It's more of a semi auto battler in it's tactical, but the strategy layer is like battle brothers in many ways. It doesn't hold your hand much, and you can end up in tough situations easily. A few flaws, much of the tutorial is still not translated. Also, the story quest chains don't reward you with anything (most of the time, big rewards like characters and weapons, but not supplies and money), so there's a real…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've decided to change my review to a positive after giving it another try. The game is still highly grindy - a part which i genuinely detest.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is definitely fun at first, but a few mechanical flaws are holding it back. First, there’s a major issue where character attacks consistently overshoot the enemy, which feels like a significant bug. Second, the auto-targeting logic is frustrating; it often 'snaps' to the furthest enemy in a crowd rather than the immediate threat. I'll be glad to see an update that prioritizes the closest enemy to make combat feel more fluid. Ver_2.5.1 Breaks my game. Found a workaround.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's OK and fun for a while, but unfortunately it gets extremely grindy and repetitive. It really needs more content and a better balance. And a better combat model, when you have a larger party it's a complete mess.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After growing up with the ROTK games, this game brings back some good memories
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Có tiếng việt ingame sẵn luôn. +++++
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's Battle Brothers. It has Story Mode. If Battle Brothers is something you like. This with be worth picking up.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is a mixture of battle brothers and bannerlors. If you like three kingdoms with the above game play you will be having fun. The developer is updating the game frequently so can look forward for future updates.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty good but need more content
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is so good. I'd been looking for something that really reminds me of Water Margin style writing and hints at how harsh the famine and brutal realities of this era could be. The years leading up to the Yellow Turban Rebellion were a low point for the people in China and it's glossed over too frequently. People were starving. Food was a primary currency and it was being used to buy and maintain government positions rather than feed the people (to my limited understanding). I'd been a…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love this game too much

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The storyline does not strictly adhere to actual history; instead, each general follows a unique, hypothetical path, or you can simply choose your favorite general to play in sandbox mode—a concept I find quite unique and compelling. However, this departure from history doesn't mean historical events are ignored entirely; I really enjoyed moments like the desperate defense of Macheng in the north—featuring an inspiring speech by the commanding general—or the cutscenes depicting the Yellow…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is Bannerlord with Total War feeling. Has stronger Character customization, but less graphic quality than any of them. The good thing, it HAS MODDING!!! within the game, NOT in Steamworks unfortunately.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game. I've enjoyed it quite a bit. I need more challenges. Increase difficulty, give achievement rewards to increase replayability similar to how Windstop Strategy does it, please. :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This games solid. I would say its better than Battle Brothers even though the map is the same like Wartales or Mount and Blade. Being able to capture and recruit people along with normal recruitment is a good bit of fun and can quickly make you superpowered if you are a save scumming piece of ♥♥♥♥ like me and as long as your strategy is decent you can just let the auto battles run.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rough intro(s) limited direction. Not sticking around if this game is that poorly explained. If the dev's could provide some kind of tutorial or intro to combat and other mechanics I think this would go a long way. Sad cause this game looked promising.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i love the game .but it takes skill and tactics.battle brothers faster pace RTS like u can have so many man to build on
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its a good game. It could be way better but i'd love to see more kinds of games that take this and evolve with this kind of game play. It reminds me of Suikoden in a way.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bored game. Wasted my money
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had low expectations but its actually really good. The story especially was really surprisingly good.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game ticks so many boxes for me. One of my favorite games growing up was Destiny of an Emperor on NES. In many ways 3 Kingdoms Mushouden reminds me of a modernized open-world version of that game. The possibilities here with each character having their own story arc (and now workshop/mod support it seems). I still feel like I've barely scratched the surface and can't wait to see where this game goes with patches/DLC and improved region support/translations (let's hope they keep coming). --…
