I don't regret my purchase, and I think there's a lot to like here. That being said, I can't personally recommend it. To me, it falls in an awkward zone where it takes itself too seriously to be a parody, but is a parody too much to be taken seriously. As someone who doesn't formally study philosophy but has a passing interest in it, I was a bit frustrated…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A philosophy pseudo-lecture disguised as entertainment, with jokes taped on the sides This is less a game and more a philosophical toy box that keeps nudging you to poke ideas with a stick. It's a parade of moral conundrums, narrated in a very serious Stanley Parable–adjacent voice, while minimal black and white visuals frame your choices. Some of the dilemmas are refreshing because they’re not the usual greatest hits, and discovering lesser-used scenarios is genuinely fun. Others go full…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is not a bad game and I did enjoy it and times. If there was a "mixed"-rating I'd definitely give it that, however it does have quite a few noticeable flaws that make me give it a negative review over a positive one: 1. This game is a bunch of humorus, but honestly shallow, minigames packaged in the form of popular thought experiments. The shallow games are carried by creativity, humor or relation to the thought experiment most of the time, but some just completely fall flat. 2. The way…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thought Experiment brought me joy and laugh throughout the game. A fresh, artistic approach to the pillars of philosophy from the ancient and medieval ages to modern culture. British humour, reflective theses, hand.. mouth-made sound design, easter eggs (I saw you, Frankenstein!). Thank you so damn much for being sarcastic about serious things. Your graphic and coding skills are growing by leaps and bounds. Can't wait to enjoy the next chef-d'œuvre Since 1935.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game, has what you think it has, the classic trolley problem you expect it to have, along with a lot of other thought problems, and philosophical deep-dives and context behind the aforementioned thought problems. All that is wrapped up in a cute, hand-drawn style with whimsical illustrations to top it off. Then, you might ask, why the negative review? Well, it comes down to the pacing within the game, and how the narrator has to slowly talk about or leisurely criticize any and every…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game itself is fun. You click around and funny things happen. Generally a good experience. There are 2 reasons why I give this a negative. 1: I paid for it. This level is generally free. I've played hundreds of games like these free on Kongregate and other flash websites in the past. I simply don't think it's work 5$. I had kinda fun for about 2 hours. And I'll never ever start this again. 2: I expected a bit more. Some really good moral dilemmas. There is a free platform called Moral…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun game that introduces many philosophical concepts and philosophers. Even if you are already familiar with these concepts, you can still have a good time playing through all the unexpected scenarios. The quirky narration, art style, and sound effects work really well here. As the developer's first game, it is very solid and polished (the juice!!!). Excited to see more in the future!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i wont refund it only to support a small creator. but hoooly mother of jesus is this game the unfunniest piece of media i have encountered for a while. the pacing is extremely sluggish mostly BECAUSE of the horrible attempts at jokes. NONE of them are skippable. N O N E. you have to sit thru the WHOLE dialogue, no skip button and you are even mocked if you try to do that. if its targeted towards children, thats fine, the jokes and pacing is okay for a children game. Its not marketed as such or…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →thought it was very long winded, a lot of the jokes didn't really land, a lot of the gameplay wasn't super interesting. there was too much meta commentary about reviews and achievements, like cmon. I first try gave myself those 15 coins and felt bad because it immediately went into meta commentary and no acheevo for you, like just make a joke or something, geeze.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another "Haha let's annoy the narrator" cliche. Except it happens even you're not even trying to go down that road. It looked like it'd be just silly takes on common thought experiments with absurd things happening. And it actually is. But then every time (every. time.) you get the narrator complaining about what just happened. Yes, I just saw that. No, the quip didn't land with me. The art and audio is charming while the random silliness can be amusing. But the other half of the game is the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a pretty simple game and some people might not see it as a game. You get several short simulations with mini-games that present philosophical dilemmas. Before each level there is a short introduction of the dilemma and the philosophers are introduced. All this is shown through self-drawn characters and is accompanied by a funny narrator. (I am very pleased that there is also a skip button) Considering how much work has been put into the game, I think the price and playing time are okay.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →first up, I was familiar with every one of these thought experiments before playing, so the issue isn't that i found it confusing or anything The issue with this one is mainly two things. 1. Theres a narrator who constantly interrupts the gameplay experience. It would be better if he talked but the game still continued and there is no way of turning his audio down or off, even though his voice is kinda grating. 2. The dialogue just isnt funny. I'm not saying its ChatGPT but its cringe in…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game to play after watching "The Good Place"
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't get the humor of this game, It is supposed to be funny but to me it was just idiotic. Maybe a studied philosopher will have fun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Touches upon some really interesting stuff, and it's cool to hear how different philosophers might view some of these thought experiments as well, it gives some perspective It is a bit jarring though going from like, Nietzsche blowing my mind, directly into "lul random"-style humor lmao. But all in all it's a nice game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do your self a favor and just pound your head directly into the wall. You will have less of a headache than listening to the game's commentary will give you.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Chilling out on the grass under a tree type game. You can learn something in the process, but the ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles alone are worth the price. 7 out of "I'm a moral anti-realist so I don't think the value of a work should be determined by its ratings."
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →whoever voiced the sound effects needs therapy, they're annoying asf
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Failing to find a single positive quality of this 'game'. Not even bad enough to be entertainingly bad, just...boring and humorless.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A highly recommendable game with a great emphasis on philosphical musings by the great thinkers of the past intertwined with accompanying mini games to solve said philosphical predicaments. Well voiced which adds a lot to the dry humor of the experience. A pretty short but reasonable priced puzzle game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A short game, but it's fun. Very easy to get 100% achievement completion in, and you'll have a lot of laughs along the way. Raptor Rating: 100% it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thought Experiment Simulator is a delightfully quirky way to dive into the world of philosophy. Ever pondered the Prisoner's Dilemma or wrestled with the Trolley Problem? This game takes these classic conundrums and lets you experience them in the most bizarre, yet fascinating ways possible. The educational value is surprisingly solid. You get a real understanding of these philosophical concepts, albeit through some of the most ridiculous scenarios imaginable. If you're trying to convince your…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Humour is subjective but the humour here is objectively dire. I made it through the third experiment and saw no point continuing. I wasn't having any fun. Zero fun. Um, end on something positive... erm, it was cheap!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Small debates by famous philosophers on various topics are interesting.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Provoked many a thought.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing. Worth everything. As a serious point, the game doesn't only cover the trolley problem (which is a little sad, a game devoted to that would have been amazing) but it does give a full philosophical outline to each problem and then gives you the standard, and then some more interesting and chaotic examples which are both amusing and thought provoking.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The gameplay just is boring and repetitive most of the time. Like really, it talks a a little about some of the philosphy about the experiemnt for maybe 2-3 minutes, and then most of the gameplay for the experiments is just not interesting and repetitive 80% of the time, and the jokes didn't land for me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Visuals and audio are great! I love the ambiance. But the gameplay itself is lacking in my opinion. The discussions with the philosophers were very academic, which I guess is the point but thinking back I feel like I didn't learn much from them. Maybe if they had talked at a less formal level, or if there had been examples and moving images on the screen to illustrate the points they were making it would be better. Like a mini-educational video; could also include some questions there and have…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →1.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While this game is fun, it is not worth the money spent. The simulations are great, but after you get all of the achievements there's nothing new to see and for a simulator it has very little replayability. I was able to 100% the game in less than 2 hours, and that includes beating the extra "challenge" mode that is really easy. The little hidden easter eggs were cool and unexpected. My least favorite part of the game by far was the narrator. You can turn him down, but you can't turn him off…

Today, we'll play this short indie game called Thought Experiment Simulator. And on sunday, we'll do some Vampire the masquerade and co-working stream. DJ Stream - October 31st
unlabelledView post →Played it for fun and I would say that it's not that great, at first it was funny, but then it got boring after like the 5th thought experiment. One other gripe about this game is that they have an achievement tied to buying their ost for this game. Kind of weird if you are a person that wants to 100% this game. The game out of 10 is like a 3.5/10 after the initial playthrough. Only meant to be played once and that is it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The narrator talks SOOO SLOW. It's like hearing paint dry. Please add speech speed option.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute and interesting concept. The humor however is.... Let's say... A bit more for children! So I couldn't get much into it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A really fun and thought provoking game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →chatgpt ass dialogue. grating.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A really good game about various thought experiments put together in form of mini games. The narrator's narration is quite funny (not as good as the narrator of the game "dude, stop!", but good enough). No bugs encountered as such. Just one feedback: please change the description of the "backstage" achievement. It currently says "thank you for buying the OST and supporting our composer". It sounds very misleading and implies you get the achievement for buying the OST (which was what I did…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Damn man, this is your first game? Fantastic job! I'm trying to teach myself how to make a game, and if you're able to make this for your first game, using a voice for most of your sound effects, it gives me serious hope for what I can make for my first attempt. Very fun game, for a fantastic price, i could have spent 10 dollars and I wouldn't be disappointed. Excited to see what you make in the future, bravo sir!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is like taking my uni philosophy classes again, but more fun:)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The best part about the game is its interactive design that let players stray from the fixed storyline, paired with plenty of the developer's personal insights, rather than thought experiments themselves. I played the modified Chrome T-Rex runner, read the creator's personal essays and even saw an ad for the game made by his friend. This is why I love indie games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →pseudo intellectualism for 5 dollars
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →more akin to a free flash game you'd find on newgrounds. this doesn't make it bad, but the price tag immediately makes this not really worth lol. feels like an attempt at a stanley parable type game, but it doesn't have the sauce nor wittiness. the humour is mostly "omg u did something different! come on!! i didnt want u to do that!!!" or "woah, wasn't that so weird?? erm, that just happened" for a game called thought experiment simulator, it has very little to actually say about these…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I picked up Thought Experiment Simulator during the Steam sale. If's an amusing game that takes a subversive and humorous approach to examining major philosophical problems. It even includes dialogues between philosophers to help you understand each scenario! I also love the earnest narration!
unlabelledView post →its not what i thought it was going to be, but i enjoyed the devs version of thought experiments.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →absolutely love it! The game definitely requires some patience, but it is also very calming. Highly recommend if you are looking for a leisure game to just sit down and play for relaxation
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The developer is probably high as hell on mushrooms when they made it, but its fun. Gamplay itself is highly tedious though. Will recommend to friends who studied philosophy to laugh at them, but otherwise not recommended.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An engaging and Unique Experience. Never experienced a game that gives you the opportunity to ''pause'', stand still and think about the content and ideas you experienced.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was delightful! The experiments were well thought out, the brief descriptions of story mode were informative and helpful, the challenge mode brought me nostalgia of Wario Ware, I would absolutely recommend others play this
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the best Indie game in 2024. Nothing even compares XD
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Solid thought provoking title with a great sense of humor.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short sweet and quite funny, just a nice little game overall.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is way too boring
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kinda boring after the Trolley
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Enjoyable little game that makes you reflect on some interesting philosophers' perspectives and presents interesting takes on infamous thought experiments.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was one fantastic evening I spent with this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is boring I got bird if it instantly. the creator just yaps a lot in the background and there isn't really much gameplay it's just a click based puzzle. there are some funi stuff in it too but it doesn't change my opinion and I'm refunding it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wasn’t sure what to expect going in, but it turned out to be a surprisingly enjoyable experience. It’s definitely something different. While nothing is explored in great depth, the concepts are still thought provoking and generally interesting - as long as you overlook that one level that veers into preachy political territory, which felt pretty cringe. The dialogue is actually pretty funny, though it somehow manages to be annoying at the same time. A skip button would really go a long way…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was straight up not enjoyable. I like thought experiments, but this game felt so... unnecessary. The game requires you, at least for the first level, to make your decisions on the fly and very quickly. To me, the whole point of a thought experiment is to actually think about whatever you need to. The trolley problem, for instance, is something that I find very amusing and fun to think about. However, when I'm just making random choices because there's a time limit, then I don't feel…
