One of the major differences is the book spends time developing the background of players while the film uses short vignettes. Both delve into inescapable fate. 🚚💸😨 #filmsky #booksky

Four lost souls have no choice but to take on the deadly job transporting cases of sweaty dynamite 200 miles through dense jungle. Great score by Tangerine Dream & that bridge scene!

Day #262 As a general rule I don't think remakes are necessary unless they aim to try a different approach to its predecessor. William Friedkin's adaptation of The Wages of Fear does this & more! #4K #BluRay #PhysicalMedia

unlabelledView post →Yeah, it doesn’t mean they’re worthless, but like this is clearly a key element running through the work. “The Wages of Fear” is another one. Film school classic but like they’re clearly comparing a “civilized” vs “savage” dimension and using race as a motif to do so.

unlabelledView post →ALIENS is not a horror film. It's basically "The Wages of Fear" in space. It's great suspense and it uses all the same beats of Clouzot's great film about people who are desperately trying to escape from a horrible situation and not all of them do.
unlabelledView post →I just watched Henri-Georges Clouzot’s 1953 movie “The Wages of Fear”. It’s a story of four men who are hired to drive two trucks loaded with nitroglycerin over extremely dangerous South American roads. This extraordinary film contains sequences of almost unbearable tension and existential dread.

I completely *adore* that movie, but I may have to pass because: 1) I just watched Sorcerer not too long ago 2) it's a heavy film, and you have to be in the right frame of mind for it, and I'm feeling goofy and silly, so no So... hmmm... I'll find something!
unlabelledView post →The Wages Of Fear (1953) is so great, like perilously close to a perfect film, but my favorite thing in it is this road sign. https://boxd.it/4Il7qF
unlabelledView post →I'll say this: I have the OG movie, The Wages of Fear, and the remake Sorcerer as 5-star deallymabobs over on Letterboxd. Both are very, very good. I'd put The Wages of Fear juuuuuust slightly over Sorcerer for being more emotionally engaging. But the action direction of Sorcerer? INSANE. *Wow.*

Sorcerer er faktisk en genindspilning af The Wages of Fear, men vel at mærke et enormt kreativt remake. Og ja, selv om jeg laver lyd på film, kan jeg faktisk godt lide stumfilm 😉

Also, you probably want a "boom" sufficient to accomplish whatever demolition you're planning, which - again - raises the stakes regarding what's in your backpack. There's a classic little film called "[The Wages of Fear](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wages_of_Fear)" that explores the hazards of amateurs transporting high explosives over long…

Both are adaptations of 1950 the novel The Wages of Fear by Georges Arnaud, about desperate men transporting nitroglycerin in trucks over treacherous terrain. To a great extent, they are the same movie... except they really aren't.

It's simply one of the best French thrillers, with a perfect cast, ever made. It reminded me that I still need to see Clouzot's THE WAGES OF FEAR.

unlabelledView post →Watched The Wages of Fear Apparently this is a remake to the movie of the same name way back at 1953. And is another example to stick with that original film instead. Despite the interesting premise, it quickly bores you through the runtime with flat characters, writing and pacing.
