The Visitors
After a wizard's spell goes awry, 12th-century Gallic knight Godefroy de Papincourt, Count of Montmirail finds himself transported to 1993, along with his dimwitted servant, Jacquouille la Fripouille. Startled and perplexed by modern technology, the duo run amok, destroying cars and causing chaos until they meet Beatrice de Montmirail, an aristocratic descendant of the nobleman, who may be able to help them get back… From TMDB

An unknown, pre-shitty James Woods and an impossibly young Steve Railsback face off in a domestic, Vietnam-era companion to STRAW DOGS. Movies rule.

Elia Kazan's THE VISITORS, which tells the story of what happened after the events depicted in Brian De Palma's CASUALTIES OF WAR (both films adapting the New Yorker article and subsequent book by Daniel Lang). Stars James Woods and Railsback, both in their film debuts. '72

Stunning exploration of black girl culture in the poor suburbs of Paris. So well and beautifully made despite grim storyline. Highly recommended 🎬🎥

unlabelledView post →Tonight we watched The Visitors, the episode from the third season of Shock Docs and it’s a pretty good doc on Whitley Strieber’s experiences. The reenactments however, they’re a bit too cheesy. Actually prefer the bizarreness of versions shown in the Communion movie :) #WhitleyStrieber #thevisitors #communion #highstrangeness

unlabelledView post →Not much as a battlefield, but I was impressed by The Visitors Center and the 45 minute film about the two battles of Bull Run. Also a vivid reminder how different urban planning is between the dense transit corridor in Arlington and the suburban/exurban sprawl just a little bit further out. /2
unlabelledView post →Wasabi is my favorite film of his. Then there’s the Visitors series (except for the made-for-US one). His role in Godzilla (1998) is small but good. People liked him in The Crimson Rivers and The Great Blue, but I’ve never seen those. Related: the animated characters he’s dubbed in French so far.

unlabelledView post →devastating movie and one of DP's best imo try and find Elia Kazan's THE VISITORS, it's a great movie - tells the after-story of CoW. trades Michael J. Fox for James Woods (!), Penn for Steve Railsback
unlabelledView post →Oh wow. A movie tie-in for French time travel comedy The Visitors. Couldn't get this game made today, I'd wager. Granted it's still one of the biggest movie series that France has produced (yes there were 3 of them, plus an American remake aka Just Visiting)

unlabelledView post →Tonight I’m watching “V”, the original TV miniseries that first aired on 5/1/1983. I haven’t seen it since I was a kid, and I’m disturbed that the characters in V are drawing parallels to the Visitors and Nazis while I’m seeing parallels between this made-for-tv-movie and what’s happening today…
unlabelledView post →I heard they might make another Mamma Mia movie, and I mean… one of the only Abba bangers they haven’t used yet is The Visitors, so I’m pretty sure the plot has to be “Amanda Seyfried saves her three dads from aliens” youtu.be/T_xFpjlrF38
