unlabelledView post →Jim Malone, to Elliott Ness...in The Untouchables: "You see what I'm saying is, what are you prepared to do?" Great movie! I also like this quote: Jim Malone: "Do you know what a blood oath is, Mr. Ness?" Eliot Ness: "Yes." Jim Malone: "Good, 'cause you just took one."
unlabelledView post →Jesus DePalma directs the hell out of THE UNTOUCHABLES. I've probably seen this film fifty times, but not since I went to college. Revisiting it now and DePalma, Mamet, everyone really understood the assignment here: a romantic shrine, a bracing thriller, a story about male friendship. Fuck.
unlabelledView post →Totally agree with this Even more exciting, for me anyway, is when people applaud a particular scene in a movie because it was just so damn well executed Every time I saw the Untouchables there was applause at the end of the train station sequence
unlabelledView post →The program notes for De Palma's THE UNTOUCHABLES (1987) on 70mm at @filmlinc.bsky.social had me choked up before the screening even began. Restorations are great, but experiencing the imperfections of a vintage print is sacred. My first big screen rewatch in 39 years and it was perfect. #FilmSky
unlabelledView post →I know Connery got the Oscar for the Untouchables (and deservedly so!) but I think this is one of his best performances. Totally disappears into the affable egg-head professor/emotionally distant father. This movie has LAYERS, man.

unlabelledView post →There are so many iconic film roles, but Robert Redford's early TV performances are just as memorable and varied. An upstart bootlegger on The Untouchables and Empathetic Death on The Twilight Zone showed early on his range and talent. RIP #TCMParty #FilmSky
unlabelledView post →Important news!! This skirt is cute! Also: Last night Mr. Film n' Feast & I watched The Untouchables (so good! And yes, he explained the Potemkin steps) and I cooked comfort food. Today we're getting lunch and exploring a part of Melbourne he hasn't visited yet! 😍
unlabelledView post →Its funny that when I first saw Capone cry in that great film 'The Untouchables' I didn't quite understand. But now, these days, classical music & opera makes me cry all the time. Vesti la giubba is pretty amazing.

unlabelledView post →He did: Carrie, Dressed to Kill, Scarface, Blow Out, and The Untouchables, a movie that needed like 90 percent less soundtrack.
unlabelledView post →If you’ve never watched the Untouchables, it might be time for you to learn about the Chicago way
unlabelledView post →Is THE BLUES BROTHERS the greatest Chicago movie? I can think of some others—THE UNTOUCHABLES, THE DARK KNIGHT, FERRIS BUELLER’S DAY OFF. But this might be the best love letter to the city. #HATM
unlabelledView post →First Kingdom of Heaven 4K, and now a potential Master & Commander 4K? All of the most dad-coded movies coming down the 4K pipeline. (You can already get The Great Escape, Rudy, and The Untouchables on 4K, dad film fans.)
unlabelledView post →#nowwatching The Untouchables.
unlabelledView post →The Untouchables is a great movie but also hilarious for being “inspired” by real events because it is the equivalent of making a movie decades from now about Jack Smith, but he spends his nights beating Trump campaign aides to a bloody pulp while getting into shootouts with Seb Gorka
unlabelledView post →Post a movie that starts with the word THE The Untouchables (1987)

unlabelledView post →I did a rewatch last night of one of my fav movies as a teen. The Untouchables. DeNiro. Connery. Andy Garcia. Costner. Directed by Depalma. The movie doesn't hold up. I think the cast made me delusional of the dialogue and use of the score.
unlabelledView post →Scott tagged my alias I use to avoid federal detection but yes indeed me and Alana are on SCOTT HASN'T SEEN today talking about THE UNTOUCHABLES, a ridiculous movie about shooting as many as people as possible for tax violations! It was so much fun!
unlabelledView post →After a day of listening to Ennio Morricone soundtracks while playing Atomfall, I've decided to end my weekend with a long overdue rewatch of Brian De Palma's "The Untouchables". First viewing in 4K and still a movie that I instinctively believed was a Scorsese film when I first saw it.

unlabelledView post →Oooooooooooh, The Untouchables is on BBC Two tonight. Bloody love that film.
unlabelledView post →I saw the movie The Untouchables, starring Robert De Niro as Al Capone & Kevin Costner as Eliot Ness, when it came out in 1987. But I only just learned that my grandfather coined the term "The Untouchables" when he was a reporter in Chicago. I feel like we should get some royalties but we don't.

On Aug. 22, my friends at Pennsylvania’s Eliot Ness Museum will celebrate this centenary in the small town where Ness co-wrote his memoir, which inspired the TV series and film THE UNTOUCHABLES. 🗃️ www.cleveland.com/entertainmen...
unlabelledView post →Van Johnson was originally cast as Eliot Ness on The Untouchables, but backed out due to a movie scheduling conflict. Fred MacMurray, Cliff Robertson, and Jack Lord were also considered for the crime-buster role before it went to Robert Stack
unlabelledView post →Exactly. Tax evasion and some minor conspiracy charges related to bootlegging. If you haven’t seen it, The Untouchables is the quintessential classic movie on the era.
unlabelledView post →To quote Sean Connery in the film “The Untouchables” “They bring knives, we bring guns.” We cannot afford to lose our Democracy to Pedophile supporting Republican scum. open.substack.com/pub/aaronpar...
unlabelledView post →Pick a movie, keep one actor, rest are Muppets: The Untouchables, Keep Sean Connery
unlabelledView post →Love, love, love THE UNTOUCHABLES (1987). Director: Brian De Palma True Story: When in Chicago, went to Union Station because the scene in the film is so monumental. Ehhh...the stairs are pretty dinky IRL. #filmsky🎥📽 Hot take⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
unlabelledView post →God, what a great movie. I sat down and watched it start to finish this spring, and if you haven't seen the Untouchables lately, I recommend it 100%!

unlabelledView post →What's a movie that's a "fall" movie for you, whatever you take that to mean, and, key thing, isn't horror. I realized for me it's The Untouchables (1987).
unlabelledView post →Sean Connery in "The Untouchables". Great film.
unlabelledView post →"I've become what I beheld & I'm content I have done right." 'The Untouchables' is on BBC1 at 22.40. It's a movie I'd guess was directed by Martin Scorsese, if I was aware of both directors, but hadn't seen this before. I'd make the same mistake about Brian De Palma directing 'Cape Fear' (1991).
unlabelledView post →So I accidentally discovered "The Untouchables of Elliot Mouse" while trying to find the actual movie "The Untouchables" and, uh, this is a trip. XD 🧵

unlabelledView post →early days yet but Fabien Frankel as Anthony Grasso on TASK is already reminding me of one of my favorite cinematic characters, Andy Garcia as George Stone in THE UNTOUCHABLES
unlabelledView post →If I can back up #PoliticsGirl through a film analogy, think of THE UNTOUCHABLES. Remember what Sean Connery as Jim Malone told Elliott Ness in how to bring Al Capone and his thugs to justice? The Chicago Way. Because they're not going to give up the fight until one of you is dead.
unlabelledView post →Watching The Untouchables. I think it’s both a really great movie and also a big piece of shit.
unlabelledView post →THE UNTOUCHABLES - (1987) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Last night's #Movie Directed by Brian De Palma and starring Kevin Costner, Charles Martin Smith, Andy García, Robert De Niro and Sean Connery. With a fine score by Ennio Morricone & Oscar winning performance for best supporting actor, Sean Connery, a wonderful film.
unlabelledView post →There's a line in the film 'The Untouchables' that applies here. "It's not meant to be good. It's meant to be bought."
unlabelledView post →Great movie! It's too bad our POTUS believes Al Capone is the hero and the Untouchables are the villains.
unlabelledView post →It feels like every day, we’re Sean Connery in The Untouchables movie asking “What are you prepared to do?”
unlabelledView post →My personal Chicago film canon (right now): - THIEF - MEDIUM COOL - HENRY: PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER - THE UNTOUCHABLES - LITTLE CAESAR Even though it’s in “another time, another place,” I also insist that STREETS OF FIRE is spiritually a Chicago movie.
