Eddie Redmayne, Jeremy Strong og Joseph Gordon-Levitt gør det dælme også godt. Sorkins dialog og instruktion er skarp og medrivende.

unlabelledView post →Second time - but it’s a great watch! The Trial of the Chicago 7 is a 2020 American historical legal drama film by Aaron Sorkin. The film follows the Chicago Seven, a group of anti–Vietnam War protesters charged with conspiracy to incite riot at the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

unlabelledView post →Another O'fer! Put The Fastest Gun Alive on your list. The Trial of the Chicago 7 is terrific if you're interested in that historically political trial. The Rip is a pretty good Netflix thriller. And A Land Unknown is a fun 1950s B-movie with guys in dinosaur suits. 😂
unlabelledView post →And a great companion movie to watch after The Trial of the Chicago 7 is Judas and the Black Messiah.
unlabelledView post →Tonight's 2nd movie (I'm in a courtroom drama mood, it seems) The Trial of the Chicago 7 (2020) Stirring, emontional, eloquent, manipulative, very Sorkin - for better and for worse. Rylance is superb, as is Langella in a thankless role.
unlabelledView post →A Social Network II is quite a risk in my opinion. The first movie is so perfect and also perfect for the era. Sorkin is a genius writer, but I’ve only liked one of his three movies as director (The Trial of the Chicago 7) and Molly’s Game is only okay.
unlabelledView post →Newsroom, The West Wing, A Few Good Men and The Trial of the Chicago 7 (coincidently my favourite movie of all time). These are some of the best written shows ever. All of them Aaron Sorkin. The GOAT.
unlabelledView post →The Trial of the Chicago 7 (2020) - Keats comes in for 2 scenes, chomps nuts, and drops straight bangers. Rest of movie also very good in a Sorkiny way.

unlabelledView post →This is the movie that made my kid want to be a lawyer. Or maybe it was the Trial of the Chicago 7. At any rate. "Breakfast?"
unlabelledView post →I got deeply angry at how poorly Seale was represented in the Trial of the Chicago 7 movie. His role in that situation could have been a film all by itself
unlabelledView post →I saw “The Trial of the Chicago 7” last night. Aaron Sorkin's excellent 2020 film is both a flashback to the 1968 “police riot” I remember vividly from my teens, and a foreshadowing of Trump's weaponization of DOJ and his brutal attacks on citizen‘s constitutional rights. Also quite funny in parts.

unlabelledView post →The Trial of the Chicago 7 was bad enough in movie form. We don't need any present-day remakes on social media.
unlabelledView post →It doesn't work like that. Any film refers to *some* real events and concepts. "The Trial of the Chicago 7" was about real people, but nominated for Best Original Screenplay in 2021. Barbie is a pre-existing fictional character. I don't think that's really open to doubt.

Deserved to be seen by a wider audience. My favorite line of the movie? "The president isn't a client of the attorney general." Very relevant movie!

unlabelledView post →Watching "The Trial of the Chicago 7" was difficult, not just because it depicts such a profound miscarriage of justice, but because these were my contemporaries. I wasn't in Chicago, but I was in Washington later, chased with tear gas. This wasn't history—it was memory. Casting Sacha Baron Cohen as Abbie Hoffman is probably the most perfect casting ever in cinema history. He captures Hoffman's anarchic brilliance, his refusal to treat the farce with the dignity it didn't deserve. And make no…
