The Sword in the Stone
Wart is a young boy who aspires to be a knight's squire. On a hunting trip he falls in on Merlin, a powerful but amnesiac wizard who has plans for him beyond mere squiredom. He starts by trying to give him an education, believing that once one has an education, one can go anywhere. Needless to say, it doesn't quite work out that way. From TMDB

unlabelledView post →Archimedes is the name of Merlin's owl sidekick (familiar?) in the Disney adaptation of T.H. White's Arthurian novel The Sword in the Stone (which later became the first section of The Once and Future King; judging by dates, this pizza chain was started pretty soon after the movie came out
unlabelledView post →The Green Knight kind of stands out for being an adaptation of an Arthurian knight-errant side-story. Most arthuriana movies either focus on the Sword in the Stone, or try to adapt his whole life from conception to death.
unlabelledView post →It's been a while since I've enjoyed a Disney movie and actually laughed my The Sword in the Stone was a fun movie. Though Archimedes was the best character in the film.

He turned him into animals to learn about political science, like totalitarianism, power dynamics, and the wonders of borderless goose anarcho-socialism

unlabelledView post →The Sword in the Stone a very weird, borderline improvisational movie that seems to have been made entirely on the basis of "what would be the most fun to draw and animate?" rather than any consideration to a good story. you won't be too bored, but it's an incredibly shallow offering.
unlabelledView post →Considering the fact that Arthur has three voice actors in the film (probably due to circumstances), at least in the language dubs of The Sword in the Stone they have kept a consistent voice for Arthur, especially in the Russian dub that I have seen in which his voice kept the same.
unlabelledView post →You just want me to out how old I am. It was a Disney movie, “The Sword in the Stone”. (King Arthur story).
unlabelledView post →The Sword in the Stone is a blast of a film. Pure silliness in a “classic animation” way. It’s basically Rick and Morty. But The Lion King is the The Lion King. Formative for me, personally, and the film (after Mermaid and BatB) that really cemented that Disney wasn’t messing around.
