Balthazar Blake is a master sorcerer in modern-day Manhattan trying to defend the city from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath. Balthazar can't do it alone, so he recruits Dave Stutler, a seemingly average guy who demonstrates hidden potential, as his reluctant protégé. The sorcerer gives his unwilling accomplice a crash course in the art and science of magic, and together, these unlikely partners work to stop the… From TMDB

60 of 77 · most liked firsthi. i'm Jordan Kurella, who writes fantasy and horror fiction in (unfortunately) Ohio. "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" by Dukas was made famous by the 1940 Disney film, Fantasia. but it will always be famous to me for the horn coming in going BA BADA BA DAAAA DAAAAA (buildup here).
unlabelledView post →Post a character that starts with the letter B (First or Last). Balthazar Blake from The Sorcerer's Apprentice I'm not even sorry I've watched this film so many times I love it 😭🤣
unlabelledView post →I think I've seen this film* before and I didn't like the ending. *The Sorcerer's Apprentice, the moral of which is that power is always in the house's control & serving its ends, not yours, so don't be seduced by the promise of convenience.
unlabelledView post →THE SORCERER'S APPRENTICE is an underrated kids film, child-me would have delcared it his instant all-timer movie Excessive magic battles, Alfred Molina camping it up next to Cage doing Cage? A blast!
unlabelledView post →Without saying Leaving Las Vegas, fav Nicolas Cage film? The Sorcerer's Apprentice. He savored every single bite of that scenery.
unlabelledView post →Another lo-fi glimpse into the upcoming release based on the book Krabat by Otfried Preußler. unlabelledView post →Heh, now that I think of it though, the only skits I remember from that movie are Night on Bald Mountain and the Sorcerer's Apprentice.
unlabelledView post →In Disney's Fantasia (1940), "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" is a cautionary tale to would-be programmers about what happens when you don't implement an exit condition for a coding loop properly.
unlabelledView post →There are some actually great 2010 movies too: INCEPTION! Kick-Ass, The Losers is good like "middle of the road" fare, Knight and Day, Predators, The Sorcerer's Apprentice is a great kids movie, Salt, The Other Guys, and SCOTT FUCKING PILGRIM!
unlabelledView post →That movie went onto make a BILLION dollars (back when that was rare). Then a few months later, I saw a trailer for The Sorcerer's Apprentice (2011) and I thought to myself: "Oh Fuck! They're going to remake all their animated classics now, aren't they?" And of course, I was right.
unlabelledView post →"I Don't Care what Anyone says, But I like that film." (My owned version) Suggested by the animated short, "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" - from Disney's "Fantasia" (BTW, feel okay to repost the quote if you want too)
unlabelledView post →everything bad since 2010 has been karma for not making The Sorcerer's Apprentice a smash hit franchise, we failed that movie when it was there for us all along, being peak.
unlabelledView post →Nicolas Cage and Jay Baruchel were both in The Sorcerer's Apprentice. I think that was the only movie they were in together. Is it funny or merely meh? You be the judge 🫵
unlabelledView post →Fifth film: The Sorcerer's Apprentice. Is it the greatest movie in the world? Obviously not. Is it a pretty okay kids movie from 2010? It's pretty okay! Jay Baruchel played to type and Cage is kind of believable as an immortal. Alfred Molina was great as the villain, too. Plot was thin, but hey.
unlabelledView post →It was ambitious, but sadly the gamble never paid off for Disney. Not with the first one and neither with the second. I think they had plans to make Fantasia into a series starting with 2000, with a new movie every few years. My favourite segments are The Sorcerer's Apprentice and Rhapsody in Blue.

unlabelledView post →I learned what a Faraday cage is by watching The Sorcerer's Apprentice starring Nic Cage. Very educational movie.
unlabelledView post →Then if you want live action wizard stuff for kids* there's Wizards of Waverly Place, The Wizards of Waverly Place movie, I think Disney has a new "teen witch show", and The Sorcerer's Apprentice (with Wizard Nick Cage) *(HP being Wizard stuff for kids assumes by kids you mean Hitler Youth)

At least in that movie you could follow what was going on. This offering, from the people who gave us The Little Unicorn and Merlin's Return (and you can tell

unlabelledView post →And *again* I ask: Have NONE of these people ever seen "The Sorcerer's Apprentice"? Fuck, have they not seen ANY Frankenstein movie? Or do they all, every one, think that Asimov's Laws of Robotics are actually laws of *physics*, and not something we have to deliberately build in?
unlabelledView post →Just watched The Sorcerer's Apprentice. It's a movie made out of the leftovers of better Urban Fantasy films with a thoroughly unlikable lead who is, as expected in these stories, only the lead because his bloodline makes him better than everyone else.
unlabelledView post →his movie biography is giving me pain ooooh my fucking god. im not doing this to myself so if anyone knows a tv show or a movie that is good and has him in there (good if he's a main character) pleaseeee let know. cause im not watching shit like The Sorcerer's Apprentice
unlabelledView post →As far as I'm aware, no, not in a film. Peter Parker has a poster from a set in his room However Disney's The Sorcerer's Apprentice features custom-made fictional cards that the celebrity magician Drake Stone had made in collaboration with the card game in-universe

unlabelledView post →One movie? By my count he's been in 3: both "Fantasia" movies (because they always hoar out "The Sorcerer's Apprentice") and "Fun and Fancy Free", the last most forget because it was during the War era and people tend to think the period between Bambi and Cinderella was a black hole with nothing.
unlabelledView post →This was a positive aspect of the live action movie called The Sorcerer's Apprentice
unlabelledView post →It's a good movie but I didn't see that while I was fuming that the pool didn't start churning out a deformed clone army like the Sorcerer's Apprentice. 😔
unlabelledView post →The movie The Sorcerer's Apprentice was about recruiting just the right person to kill The Big Bad. At first I thought it was going to be a ten year old boy asked to kill. Thankfully things got a little weird and ten years later a full grown adult was asked to fight. Important difference there.

unlabelledView post →As much as I adore The Sorcerer's Apprentice, it's a damn shame the movie is mostly known for the short that Disney's soulless corporate mascot starred in. Instead of 'Witness this artistic triumph resulting from the seamless merging of music and animation" it's "HEY GUYS LOOK IT'S MICKEY MOUSE!"
unlabelledView post →I don't remember if it was the first or second movie that I watched a lot, but we had like 3 movies in my parent's car and we often took long road trips, so we'd put on one of those 3 movies. They were httyd, The Sorcerer's Apprentice, and some other 3rd movie. We watched them a LOT.

unlabelledView post →Honorable mention to the Sorcerer's Apprentice movie! Other shows that we get, like Buffy or Grimm or Supernatural, usually set normal humans against non-human creatures. Humans use the arcane only as a tool for defense. 3/5

unlabelledView post →I thought of a line from the Rifftrax for The Sorcerer's Apprentice (Not the 2010 Disney one, but a 2001 South African film about Merlin in modern times) About Robert Davi in his ridiculous full Merlin outfit & beard "Laugh it up. I've got 3 kids in college!"

unlabelledView post →Perhaps Mickey Mouse's most iconic role was The Sorcerer's Apprentice from 'Fantasia.' While the Mouse's attempt to wield the sorcerer's magic didn't go well for him in the film, the image of "Sorcerer Mickey" continues to serve as a symbol for the magic of Disney. #Mickey95
