I just told my 75 year old very British white dad about this movie since he loved that town so much. Not sure he's the intended audience but maybe he'll like it.

unlabelledView post →Conservative Christian film. Shit like God’s Not Dead, The Shack, etc. There’s not a single one of those kind’s of films I’ve seen that are even remotely “good”
unlabelledView post →Above me would’ve been the lounge loft, but they must’ve removed that when the Sugar Shack closed and the pizza owners redid the interior. But the basic space is what you see in the movie so you can easily “block” what a night at the Shack was like in 1975.
unlabelledView post →I was wondering if we'd see the Shack Up Inn too. That site would make a movie because it is problematic.
unlabelledView post →“The Shack” is a 2017 religious movie that simultaneously has my favorite depiction of God (a benevolent being that changes form to comfort the main character, specifically a black woman and an Oneida man) and my least favorite depiction of Jesus (played by an IDF soldier)
unlabelledView post →Reminds me of the movie “The Shack”, since they visit those falls.

This movie almost never got released on video, and when it did, it was as part of a two-pack. That's how you know it's a quality-

unlabelledView post →That sounds fabulous - are they filming the production? But I can imagine how these poor wimpy x-tian nationalists (don't want to use Christ's name in vain) felt about the casting in The Shack. A decent movie, but the ending, as a bow to evangelicals, really cheapened it.

unlabelledView post →My middle child loved the Lion King. I'm sure I've seen it more than most. I haven't watched that for a while either. Watched The Shack it was good. I try to watch movies but my attention span isn't that great these days so I'm a bit behind.
unlabelledView post →I finally watched The Lion King the other day. I heard James Earl Jones voice & burst into tears. 🤦♀️ I LOVED ole Darth Vader!! 🥺😢💔 SUCH a good movie!! I'm very behind on Disney movies. UGH!! @mairscott3.bsky.social said to watch The Shack, as REALLY poignant!! Gotta find it & watch!! 🥰🍿📽📺

unlabelledView post →However, I personally love magneto. On the converse, the Shack is an excellently paced film with well-developed characters and solid cinematography. But I’m a cynical little shit and love a revenge plot too much to enjoy it.
unlabelledView post →You can like bad movies and hate good movies. For example: I liked Dark Phoenix. I hated The Shack. Dark Phoenix is an awful movie; it’s got that “hysterical woman needs suppressing” plot alongside aliens of evil yogurt; magneto being a badass is the only good bit.

Radha Mitchell is on hand as the wife while Graham Greene shows up in the last act. Based on the novel from ten years earlier, "The Shack" (2017) is a drama/fantasy in the mold of the heralded “Field of Dreams,” just focused on struggling with the LORD (which is what ‘Israel’ means in the Hebrew). As I was watching, it struck…
positive · AI labelView post →Can someone do a Nostalgia Critic treatment for 'The Shack' on Netflix? It might be the edibles talking but this movie is such a cliche filled 'religious/faith' film that I feel like I'm watching an SNL parody of bad movie tropes but I keep checking and reconfirming this is a real movie 😑

God in this movie is a Black woman and an American Indian man, Jesus is Arabic, the Holy Spirit is Asian and the character "Mac".cont'd

unlabelledView post →As a person who doesn't believe in any sort of gods, somehow, I watched this movie. And I have to say that I almost regretted immediately the wasted time. But not fully, and here is why. Disclaimer: I haven't read the novel; whatever I say pertains only to the movie. Please, do not refer to the book. This is not a review of the novel. From the perspective of artistic value, the movie is pointless for a non-religious person. The main point of the whole movie can be described as: "You must…

unlabelledView post →If forgiving is that easily convincible, then welcome to the crime world! A novel based film. A religious themed film. It has a message, BUT could be a bad message for today's world. Because how the event was dealt with the story only encourages the crime, in reality. Wise people can say philosophically, morally, but not means every words practically applicable. The common people would get affected more. Other than that, I have no grudge on anything. If it has been just a fantasy and an…
