unlabelledView post →just watched The Retirement Plan, it's got Nicolas Cage and Ron Pearlman so what could go wrong, well quite a bit actually; it feels really cheap, a stop-gap for all concerned - the plot is fine but gets convoluted, the action is fine but it takes a third of the film to get going, 2 out of 5 📽🎥

However, it’s elevated by some genuinely funny moments & a few surprisingly heartwarming ones. 1/ 🧵 #movies #moviesky

unlabelledView post →The Retirement Plan isn't funny enough to be a comedy and too bland as an action film. Nicolas Cage isn't good or unhinged, and Jackie Earle Haley just screams 90s mobster cliches. It's just ... bleh. Full Review: 📽️ FilmSky

unlabelledView post →Now I’m watching The Retirement Plan. I was wrong. Nic Cage will still shift into Batshit Crazy no matter what the movie needs.
unlabelledView post →Watched The Baker on Amazon yesterday not a bad movie, strong cast. However I thought the last 10 mins were a bit weak and rushed. Not sure of timings of both movies but the premise seemed similar to the recent nic cage movie The Retirement Plan.
unlabelledView post →Watching The Retirement Plan. It is a really Really Really Really Bad movie.
unlabelledView post →THE RETIREMENT PLAN (2023) is the 4th of 6 Nicolas Cage movies this year. The 2nd of 4 since July. Nicolas Cage is magnificent in this cheap DTV action film. Ron Perlman & Thalia Campbell are great. Hudson, Greene & Haley are fine. The A plot works. The subplot is too obvious.

unlabelledView post →This might be the most ridiculous Nicolas Cage film ever. And that’s saying something. The Retirement Plan wants to be Elmore Leonard-like but fails miserably.
unlabelledView post →The Retirement Plan: a geezer teaser given a full theatrical release, the new Nic Cage movie halts the momentum the actor had with The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent and Renfield and instead gives the viewer a bunch of half-baked ideas that should work with excellent execution.
