Peter Weller vs. Giant Rat, and it is AWESOME.

The stress escalates because this is a horror movie, obviously. The final reveal could've been executed better
unlabelledView post →When I watched The Rental I just concluded that Franco doesn't really like or understand slashers and just figured he'd make a buck from horror audiences. Now I think he's a full on talentless, predatory hack without a single idea of his own. The same final needle drop? Are you kidding me?

unlabelledView post →I don’t hate THE RENTAL so hoping this is good. I miss seeing Alison Brie in things regularly. The last movie of hers I saw was that awful Pierre Morel movie FREELANCE.

unlabelledView post →This was a pretty damn good romantic drama! Only problem with that is this is actually supposed to be a horror movie. 😕 Still a decent flick overall, and a good directorial debut for Dave Franco. My ★★½ review of The Rental (AMC+) #filmsky #horrorsky

unlabelledView post →#HorrorAlphabet film 18: The Rental (2020). Two couples rent an AirBnB together and discover that they are being watched. The cast is small, but the characters are well-developed (if not always likable), and the filmmaking is really sharp. Not the scariest, but a decent take on very modern horror.
unlabelledView post →The Rental is a horror movie that has an AirBnB is bad theme running through it.
unlabelledView post →The fictional horror movie called The Rental had bad things happen. Mostly off screen. Fictional bad things with no exploitative gore. An aspect of horror movies I prefer.

unlabelledView post →The Rental Family is just a delightful film. Very few laugh-out-loud moments, but so much thoughtful humor. Brendan Fraser is wonderful, but so is Akira Emoto, as an elderly actor, and Shannon Marina Gorman, as a schoolgirl whose father Fraser pretends to be. No explosions, just kindness and wit.

Making a successful horror movie was never an easy task, but I believe it’s even harder nowadays. This genre has evolved in so many ways by delving into distinct subgenres and helping new directors deliver brilliant horror stories. Of course, every year has dozens of awful horror films, and most of the “Worst…
