60 of 113 · most liked firstthe single most chilling scene I’ve seen in a movie in years is in THE ORDER where one of the white supremacist characters is reading the turner diaries to his son as a bedtime story

unlabelledView post →Nicholas Hoult in The Order is one of the most Early Tom Cruise Performances (Complimentary) I've seen. The movie itself is excellent but Hoult is doing all the movie star stuff a movie star could possibly do. As I am the first person to note that he's good at acting I expect to be credited as such.

Hulu subscribers: Watch THE ORDER, a film which revolves around an FBI agent who goes after a white supremacist terrorist group known as the Order that was active in the US in the 1980s. It made me wonder about the present, & then the credits came. 👇🏼 OMG, yes, still a presence 1/3
unlabelledView post →Whether the words are actually attributed to Alan Berg (see "The Order," 2024 movie about violent, race-war #PNW white supremacists), or the words were enhanced for Hollywood, this quote hits hard. Does any of this sound familiar now in America? #Fight #Endfaciscm #Democracy #Trumpisadictator

unlabelledView post →"The Order" on Hulu is based on real life, the 1980s neo-Nazi cell led by Aryan Nation dropout Bob Matthew's, and features The Turner Diaries, a novelized map for neo-Nazi revolt that Timothy McVeigh kept under his pillow, and apparently influenced Jan 6 participants. Well done, worth a watch.

In the West, it has been said since ancient times that men and women who meet under mistletoe can kiss, and women invite men they like under the mistletoe.
unlabelledView post →It took quite a bit for me to finally catch up to THE ORDER. But damn is that barn burner. And Jude Law has rarely been better. My review.
unlabelledView post →THE ORDER is fantastic. The TALK RADIO sidequel I never knew I needed. Nice to see a movie look like a movie these days.
unlabelledView post →There are a number of good OKC documentaries out now, & the new fictionalized movie on The Order dropping soon. Critical thing is to *CONNECT THESE STORIES TOGETHER* to see the big picture: a movement that has grown without a decisive stop in momentum since the 1970s & is gaining ground. (12)

unlabelledView post →Slept on gem THE ORDER hits Hulu on April 18; add it to your watchlists.
unlabelledView post →I just saw this movie, about the neo Nazi group the Order. We need to be aware that the book they used as a blueprint was the same that the Oklahoma City bomber and January 6th insurrectionists were following. Right down to that damn gallows they built. It’s an image right out of the book.
unlabelledView post →I’m looking forward to seeing the film, “The Order,” which opens Dec. 6. I hope it is faithful to the actual historical events, which involved a separatist group that sought to create conditions for secession and the founding of a white homeland in the Pacific Northwest, where I grew up.
unlabelledView post →Ok so here’s the news: Friday at 4pm EST, @kathleenbelew.bsky.social & I are gonna do the first live stream of Historians At The Movies Podcast talking about the new film, The Order. If you have questions about the film, or Kathleen’s work, reply back to this post and we will answer them on the pod.
unlabelledView post →“The Order”, the 2024 Jude Law film about the FBI tracking white nationalist militias in Idaho in the 80s has a dive bar scene and I have snapped right out of it because the jukebox in the background was playing “Rain”, by Dragon.
unlabelledView post →The Order was a good movie
unlabelledView post →THE ORDER is a chilling, gripping piece of cinema that steeps readers in a forgotten chapter of the American Far Right. Here’s my look for @wired.com at how Justin Kurzel’s new film unearths a past that directly informs the contemporary Neo-Fascist revival www.wired.com/story/real-s...
unlabelledView post →Midnight showing of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, old Union Station movie theater (RIP). At the pivotal moment when all seems lost, then Dumbledore appears, from the back of the (mostly quiet) theater: “AWWWWWW SHIT! DUMBLEDO’!” Genuinely the best part of the whole movie.

unlabelledView post →There’s a late ‘90s/early ‘00s atmosphere style that I call 'Buffy opening credits.' Every big budget religous horror movie had it--Stigmata, Bless the Child, End of Days, The Order, Lost Souls, Mother of Tears-and they aaaaaaaallllllll sucked lol. I am a sucker for that style though.
unlabelledView post →I just saw the 2024 film The Order. If any movie maker reads my skeets here is some free advice; if the theme to the movie is "Nazi bad, Cop Good" then you need to show how incompetent the Nazis are. I them to read the part of the Turner Dairies where racialized people kill a cat because he's white.

unlabelledView post →Or... someone who wants to watch the movie. You know, observe the events in the Order they are presented, maybe even contemplate the narrative and engage with the message of that particular art medium. Do you... not do that?
unlabelledView post →The largely overlooked film "The Order," starring Jude Law and set in the early 1980s, is mainly set in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and the surrounding NW.
unlabelledView post →In my continued bleak film viewing, I watched The Order tonight. I am old enough to remember Alan Berg’s assassination and groups like The Order and the Aryan Nations, and Tom and John Metzger. In those days, they were considered degenerates.
unlabelledView post →We watched the movie "The Order" a couple nights ago and it made me think so much of this book I read a few years back...
unlabelledView post →"The Order" is good, tough stuff. Great Jude Law performance. Great Nicholas Hoult performance. But for my money, the two best, most chilling scenes in the movie come from Alison Oliver and Morgan Holmstrom.

unlabelledView post →THE ORDER: FBI agent Jude Law takes on the What's New feed on Twitter. Solid movie, very depressing that actually these white supremacists won in the long run.
unlabelledView post →If you've seen the film 'The Order' with Jude Law about the white supremacist terrorist group The Order and were wondering what the necklace charms looked like that they distributed to members, here it is. This is from my personal collection, and one of only a few still in existence.

unlabelledView post →Bluesky Only Thread Tomorrow a film about the 1980s white supremacist terror group The Order (aka Bruder Schweigen) will debut. I have my doubts I will like it, based on the history of films about white supremacists. Of no doubt is the fact that modern white supremacists view The Order as heroes.
unlabelledView post →I first learned of sin eaters from the 2003 film The Order. Pretty much the director and cast of A Knight's Tale decided to make a second film together. Fantastically good premise but almost an achievement in how boring it was.
unlabelledView post →watched The Order (2024). Much better than I expected. looks and feels like a real movie. Jude Law with a glorious stache

unlabelledView post →"The Order" (2024) is basically True Detective: The Movie, up to and including Jude Law as a deeply slutty and deeply unwell detective.
unlabelledView post →Movie recommendation: 'The Order' with Jude Law on Prime. Slow burn, interesting score (strongly reminiscent of Arrival), and a compelling turn from Nicholas Hoult as the antagonist.
unlabelledView post →The Order. So so good. The kind of awards bait movie you dream about. Kinda exciting, kinda tense, super well made, just all around good.
unlabelledView post →Very surreal experience watching The Order, a Dec 2024 US movie about the FBI going after neo-Nazis. I found it kinda cathartic. Also has two brilliant British leads which is always entertaining for a US movie. I also loved True History of the Kelly Gang (2019) by the same director. #filmsky

unlabelledView post →I saw The Order (go see The Order, it's great) at the @regalmovies.bsky.social in Pasadena. Showtime at 1:00. With commercials and trailers, the movie itself started at 1:34. Several people were audibly like "WHAT THE ACTAUL FUCK IS HAPPENING?"
