The Notebook
An epic love story centered around an older man who reads aloud to a woman with Alzheimer's. From a faded notebook, the old man's words bring to life the story about a couple who is separated by World War II, and is then passionately reunited, seven years later, after they have taken different paths. unlabelledView post →Anyway I think a symptom of sexism in film culture that no one has brought up THE NOTEBOOK or TITANIC yet which are likely the generation defining movies for 50% of the millennial population?
unlabelledView post →Watched THE NOTEBOOK for the first time tonight, for Gena. Here's the thing: she's obviously incredible in to-the-bone great movies like OPENING NIGHT and WOMAN UNDER THE INFLUENCE and GLORIA and so on But it takes a reeeeallllly great actor to make the turn in this movie work. And she does. RIP.

The only one left on the freebie list that I’ve never seen is The Notebook. It’s a mark of how desperate I am that I’m actually considering hitting “play.”

Please tell me the movie everyone loves gets better than boy manipulates girl into going on a date with him even though she doesn’t want to and then they go to see a racist movie which totally brings them together

unlabelledView post →13 years ago tonight, someone made me sit down and watch The Notebook. The Kid hated that horrible movie so much that he sent us into pre-term labor! Shortly after midnight on December 4, he was born, and I never finished watching that movie. He's still my little hero and still wont be contained.

unlabelledView post →Just saw the musical version of The Notebook Most gender-skewed theater audience I’ve ever seen I’ve never seen the movie nor read the book (sad romance is not my thing) but it was surprisingly cathartic to sob with hundreds of middle aged women
unlabelledView post →lol the best part of The Notebook is the final 15 minutes of the movie. (Yes, when they're on their deathbed LOL)

unlabelledView post →"The Notebook" This probably says more about me, but IDC. We were in an old theater with creaky chairs. I started to get up at the logical time to leave the movie as the credits rolled, and realized the mostly full theater was all sitting there crying. I creaked back down in slow shame

I answered with The Notebook and then wrote a 3 paragraph answer on the awesomeness of James Garner. I think being married to @comicsinthega.bsky.social has invaded my subconscious😂

unlabelledView post →Yesterday I was granted *movie’s choice* & instead of going for my typical yt romcom tearjerker for the occasion (see: A Walk to Remember, The Notebook) we watched this hour-long, beautifully shot film about a Senegalese woman who is hired as a servant to a French couple. You can watch it on Max.
unlabelledView post →Like Nick said. A good love story is gender or human free. Ones that stand the test of times are the most authentic. The Notebook was well done. Most film just covers the initial romance crush phase. That's a different lust.

Any Stooge short where they literally die is awesome and Spider-Man BND might make me read capes a little again (oh no.)
