unlabelledView post →The Matrix Resurrections was a beautiful movie about reclaiming your art from all the people who have been exploiting it despite your best intentions and it’s darkly funny that Warner’s turning around to ask “what if we tried exploiting it again?”
unlabelledView post →Rewatched The Matrix Resurrections and I do still quite enjoy what they made. Really fun, fascinating movie. The biggest miss for me remains the lack of Hugo Weaving…which alas, was down to scheduling, I suppose.
unlabelledView post →#NowWatching "The Matrix Resurrections" Honestly, one of the best legacy sequels, in large part because it uses its nostalgia with purpose. It offers an expansion and reclamation of the original film, a work in conversation with not just "The Matrix", but its cultural legacy.
unlabelledView post →Rewatching THE MATRIX RESURRECTIONS and being struck once by the realization that a good 90-95% of the hate thrown at this movie was either (a.) just transphobia or (b.) anticipated and addressed in the text of the movie itself. Some people are just not very clever. There’s my hot take for the day.
unlabelledView post →If these sorts of legacy have to exist - and "Resurrections" is candid about the cynical motivations of the studios pumping them out - they should all be as thoughtful, as engaged, and as personal as "The Matrix Resurrections." Lana Wachowski taking a blockbuster budget to make a personal film.
unlabelledView post →THE MATRIX RESURRECTIONS is still my favorite film of 2021.
unlabelledView post →Also, fun fact: "The Matrix Resurrections" is my mother's favourite "Matrix" movie.
unlabelledView post →Movie that inspired this prompt: The Matrix Resurrections, which I was watching for the first time. My answer to this prompt: The Happiest Season.

The company worked on films like ‘The Matrix, ‘Joker’, ‘The LEGO Movie’, ‘Zoolander’, ‘I Am Legend’, ‘Happy Feet’ and more.
unlabelledView post →Rush Hour 4, huh? Good thing coming back decades later for a fourth movie in a trilogy always works. Like Indiana Jones and the Legend of the Crystal Skull. Or The Matrix Resurrections. Or Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. Or Ocean’s 8.

unlabelledView post →Feels like there’s a whole movie titled The Matrix Resurrections about why you shouldn’t do this?
unlabelledView post →The Matrix Resurrections is a romance movie because The Matrix movies were always about the power of love! People focus on the meta-commentary because of how front loaded it is, but that’s not what the movie’s *about*!
unlabelledView post →remembering today, like almost every day, that the mainstream film culture did Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Jonathan Groff a disservice by not making them instantly ubiquitous movie stars after The Matrix Resurrections. We could be in the best of all possible worlds but instead we get Tom Holland
unlabelledView post →They are developing a new matrix movie? I watched The Matrix Resurrections at home and I gave up halfway through, still haven't finished it. There were some cool scenes in the early part of the movie that were almost breaking the fourth wall and seemed to pick up the spirit of the introductory scenes in The Matrix (I wish those cyberpunk/dystopian elements were expanded in the original), but Resurrections quickly started to go down the drain after that.

unlabelledView post →The Matrix Resurrections, hoooo boy. I enjoyed it; it was fun watching Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss get back into black with a new crew. It was INCREDIBLY meta about being a return to a film series that hadn't had a new entry in 18 years. (1/1)
unlabelledView post →Post your unpopular movie take. People like to shit on The Matrix Resurrections, but it just becomes more and more relevant as corporate slop and genAI strangle and smother creatives of all kinds. Lana Wachowski knew what the hell she was doing with that film, and it's destined to become a classic.
unlabelledView post →The Matrix Resurrections by Lana Wachowski. How can one film have so much to say and still be so heartfelt, exciting and hopeful?
unlabelledView post →Just saw the Matrix Resurrections last night! It might be my favorite Matrix movie and is just one of the most sincere heartfelt movies I've seen in a while. Completely and unapologetically at odds with 99% of "legacy sequels"
unlabelledView post →I have been itching to rewatch The Matrix Resurrections. I LOVED that movie. But I'm always kind of surprised no one talks about it? And I feel like there's so much to talk about. But I haven't really seen it in about three years. So maybe it's time to pop it in. #TheMatrix
unlabelledView post →The Matrix Resurrections was really good. Like really really good. Better than I thought was possible. Definitely better than any movie since the first one, and imo with more emotional resonance than the first one.
unlabelledView post →What do you think of The Matrix: Resurrections?. No spoilers for Resurrections please, I've only watched the first 3 movies in the last couple of days. Yes, I know that I'm 20 years late to the party. I think the first movie is great, I hated the long action scenes in the second (Neo vs the Smith army got boring after a couple of minutes, and added no value), and mostly enjoyed the third, even though it didn't really feel like a Matrix movie. I've read that the fourth is terrible. Is that…
unlabelledView post →I really appreciate the section on The Matrix Resurrections. That is a beautiful film that not enough people appreciate
unlabelledView post →Works done, time for a movie! Tonight's randomly selected movie is... Nice! Finally finishing the saga! The Matrix Resurrections, 2021
unlabelledView post →#NowWatching The Matrix Resurrections (2021), dir: Lana Wachowski. Cookies and a film... Need to calm my brain this evening.
unlabelledView post →Soundtrack of the day! The Matrix Resurrections 💚 I’m probably the only one who really loved the movie too 🐇
unlabelledView post →Name a poorly rated movie you love: A LOT of people gave The Matrix Resurrections shit, but you know what? I liked it better than the 3rd movie in the trilogy! So that's saying something. But also I felt like Lana Wachowski made this movie for people like ME, and that's a small percentage of folks
unlabelledView post →admittedly, Warner Brothers is just absolutely fine making movies where they are the literal evil demiurge of reality there are at least four... no five (THE LEGO MOVIE, BARBIE, THE MATRIX RESURRECTIONS, TEEN TITANS: GO, and LOONEY TOONS 2)
unlabelledView post →The Matrix Resurrections. I'm a fan of the Matrix movies, I like the first three even reloaded and revolutions. when those films came out I was all about them. I was insanely into the lore, bought all the extra media be it the games, the animatrx, the encyclopedia, everything. I even drank the damn powerade and had the phone. Resurrections is a movie that didn't need to happen and doesn't change anything in the overall universe of the matrix. Spoilers ahead. The Machines and…

unlabelledView post →The Amazing Digital Circus: The Last Act opened to 22 million dollars at the domestic box office. Highkey, this has to be like the 2nd biggest domestic opening for a film directed by an out-trans woman right? I think maybe The Matrix Resurrections is the first. A victory is a victory ladies!
unlabelledView post →Right Bluesky beauties, help me decide! Should I... 🕹️ Play a game (probably Space Marine 2) Or 🎬 Watch a film (probably Silent Hill, or The Matrix Resurrections)

unlabelledView post →> Village RoadShow and WB produced and co-owned dozens of films over the years but their relationship soured in early 2022 after the release of the latest Matrix film - The Matrix Resurrections - on the streaming platform HBO Max. I didn't even know this had been released, so I guess they failed hard.
unlabelledView post →My biggest gripe with The Matrix Resurrections lies at the heart of why I think it works so well: the underwhelming action. There is no wrong way to enjoy any movie of the original trilogy, and I too was disappointed that Lana Wachowski did not deliver on the action. But she never intended to. (1/4)
unlabelledView post →Here’s my unpopular opinion on THE MATRIX RESURRECTIONS: it was bad. It aspired to be a deconstruction of soulless cash grab sequels while essentially becoming one, referring to its predecessors copiously. The action scenes underwhelmed. Not looking forward to another. variety.com/2024/film/ne...
unlabelledView post →after watching The Matrix Resurrections, i was surprised to discover a core group of people i respect loved the movie. i think it's pretty bad on several levels. but i've read the positive words about it, i see where they're coming from, and i find them interesting. they inform how i view it now.
unlabelledView post →The Matrix Resurrections (2021) I get what it’s doing, biting back at the need for endless sequels and reboots, but as a movie it was pretty dull. Sorry to all my friends who gave it high reviews on letterboxd
unlabelledView post →I really gotta rewatch The Matrix Resurrections, because I wasn’t remotely ready for the gender feels it gave me in 2021, but I do remember the joy realizing that Lana made a movie just for us. If you get it, you get it. If you don’t, congratulations on being the gender you were assigned at birth.
unlabelledView post →Very proud of this piece on The Matrix Resurrections. It’s a bold thing for any movie in the IP machine to embrace a love story. I fell in love with that rebellious sincerity filmdaze.net/love-2-0-in-...

unlabelledView post →The Matrix Resurrections is a highly-underrated Gen X movie. I can relate to so many scenes and themes. It’s one of my all time favourites now, and I see something new each viewing. Genius filmmaking.

unlabelledView post →Starring Olivia Wilde, Seth Rogen, Penélope Cruz and Edward Norton, Hollywood's upcoming major project “The Invite” may be the biggest film to shoot in San Francisco since “The Matrix: Resurrections” brought Keanu Reeves to the city (and into one Chinese restaurant for 20 bowls of noodles).
unlabelledView post →Man, I made myself mad again thinking about all of the dumbshit takes I've seen people have about The Matrix Resurrections, a movie that rules the fucking school. Then again, people have been proudly wrong about the other Matrix sequels for twenty years, so I shouldn't be surprised...
unlabelledView post →Jumping in here to just say Lana Wachowski’s Stardust Memories (aka The Matrix Resurrections) is a fucking fantastic film. Matt’s point also valid. I just feel compelled to say this at any and every opportunity
