negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short puzzle game but not a very good one. There's no audio to speak of, the visuals are boring, and I found the games mechanic of controlling two characters while one is constantly outpacing the other more frustrating than fun. I wouldn't recommend it at any price.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A promising game. The visuals are very nice, and create an intriguing and whimsical world. Gameplay: In each chapter, you have to explore the level and read the page of a book to find hints and discover how to progress. The enigmas, so far, are well done. I wrote some notes on paper to solve one of them and to find the solution was really satisfying. You also have to move the characters to accomplish certain tasks. The two children always move together, at a different speed. The girl moves…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just finished this little game, only took about an hour (though it took 4 hrs to get all the cards xD). The concepts are there, and the developer sounds like he has the right idea for making the game, but it feels unfinished. The developer has said he plans on finishing it if he can get the time and/or funds, but at this point it’s more of a demo than a full game. I still enjoyed it and the puzzles were satisfying, I’d say give it a shot if you can get it on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is EXTREMELY short. The camera angles are buggy and the puzzles are not complicated. This does not feel or look like a finished product at all but supposedly it is. Did not care for it at all.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Creative but let down by awful camera angles, terrible controls and finicky puzzles. The characters, Thomas and Lily, weird me out quite a bit but I genuinely like the setting, mystery and art style in the book pages. It's a shame the game was never fully finished. There are only three chapters with gameplay (a maze, matching game and jumping puzzle) which take approximately one hour. I got very frustrated trying to line up the characters, there's only one control to move both of them and they…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Controls are brutal to master, the learning curve is incredibly high to figure out just how to control the characters. You control BOTH characters at the same time and one moves faster then the other. This is really tedious considering that you are trying to manipulate them down a narrow and twisting path and one continuously moves off the path.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okay so there is a maze in this game where you are a kid with a blue backwards hat. You seem to be guiding some devil girl and if you step off the path, you turn to stone. I haven't figured it out yet but seems interesting. THIS GAME IS A WORK OF ART!!! The design style of this game is colorful and playful. The developers put a lot of thought into this. I won this game in a contest from a Steam group, but if I heard of it before, I would have paid money. I'm snuggled on the loveseat…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing Indie game! The story is still being developed but the premise is awesome. My favorite part about it is how dark and immersive it is. The music is very well made and adds the the atmosphere. It is very scary and creepy. The games feels like it was made by Tim Burton himself. I am very pleased of the quality and dedication that has gone out to making this game. You guys should definitely try it out! It is like if Tim Burton made Flappy Birds based on the Never Ending Story.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am still playing this game so maybe something will change but at the moment I don't like the unique movement system. Especially in the first level where if you go off the path you die because all you end up doing is constantly switching between using shift and not using shift and combine that with some slow camera movements and lots of turning and it is just infuriating. Moving the two characters at the same time is fine but having them move at different speeds does not help at all or offer…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Review in English/Spanish Análisis en Inglés y Español: English: At first glance The Land of Lamia looks endearing but the controls are complicated, hard and will test your patience. I wouldn’t recommend this game, the good visuals don’t make up for getting annoyed and frustrated with everything else. Español: A primera vista parece un juego tierno y bonito hasta que empiezas a jugar y te tropiezas con los terribles controles. Usualmente soy una persona calmada y tranquila, pero Land of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gave up on first level after fighting the controls and camera angles. Could have dealt with one or the other, but both being a problem is just too time consuming. I like a game to challenge me, not an interface.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finished this game in an hour, "short story driven puzzle game" is an understatement. After trying the first puzzle several times I gave up and moved on to the next one because it relies on simply getting through the maze quickly and not stepping off the path. I enjoyed the challenge of the second and third puzzles but there is so much missing in this game. Like an ending. Like a story. Particularly when the whole game is based off of being stuck in a story book. I loved the look of this game…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The atmosphere seems fantastic? I went into this feeling really positive, but I was kind of flabbergasted by how egregious some of the bad qualities are. 1. The controls are pretty bad. Part of that is a gameplay gimmick that I just happen not to like. You are controlling two characters with a single input. One of them walks faster than the other. The girl walks at a steady rate. The boy either walks slower than the girl or, if you press the run key, faster than the girl. A lot of the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Behold! The Land of Lamia! This is a very intriguing little game and I enjoyed it. Each chapter is filled with a complex puzzle which indeed makes you use your brain bucket. I have to admit that there were two of the chapters I was banging my head against my keyboard due to the difficulty, or so I thought. After reviewing the actual puzzle and my gameplay (I'm a YouTuber for those of you reading this) and came to find it was due to my over thinking thought process. The developer has done an…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Personally didnt like the controls of controlling both while the camera angle kept moving and just having wasd felt limiting. Maybe one ay ill get to finishing it but after owning this game for three years of not making it past the first walk, i dont know if i wanna play this again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not only was this game hard to play (even by my standards), it was also extremely tedious from the very beginning. I tried to give it a chance, but I just can't bring myself to open it up again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Confusing, annoying and short. Sorry, but this should dwell in mixed zone.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Whimsical, it's like walking into an open field of fresh air. I'm super excited to watch this develop into what we all hope will be a great game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The controls are terrible and at times you can't even see where the characters are that you're trying to navigate (weird camera perspective which you can't control) - but even when you can see them they sometimes get stuck on nothing (buggy perhaps). (Getting stuck only seems to happen to Thomas - maybe his big hands get caught on stuff? Lily has hers eternally clasped around the book so I suppose they aren't in the way...) Also perhaps a bug: one or both of the kids kept turning to stone (in…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game even for its low price, its incredibly small, and not so much fun. it has some ''clever'' puzzles but thats it. i would not recomned it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good story! Good characters, they have charism! The controls are unique and hard, you will move the 2 characters at the same time! It´s a hard game, if the developers work hard it will become of good game to excellent game, A LOT OF POTENTIAL. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpWkcUT_azs
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The controls are terrible and made worse by the camera angles. Also, the dialog text is riddled with punctuation errors.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was a really cute game with a cool game mechanic of altering between having the boy run and having the girl run. While it was challenging (especially during that stupid maze, screw it all), it was really fun and I loved it. I really enjoyed the puzzles as well. But... why. Why did a brother and sister wake up in the middle of 'The Land of Lamia.' Where were they trying to go. I did find the ending kind of ominous with the robot's final job being to stop two children from going to a city…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a truly original work of art in an age of pastiche content and deceptive marketing. The developer has only completed the beginning of the story, which takes about an hour to play through, but it already has the makings of a great game. If you were waiting for Steam to give you something new and interesting, or maybe you remember the times when games were not designed by "borrowing" pieces of existing games and pasting them together, play LAND OF LAMIA.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well made game ,works well "out of the box" ,cute characters but gameplay will have you stumped until you figure out how to play it. Nice effort from the game dev ,always good to see original ideas and art styles . Will follow this game with interest . P.S: I played longer than 0.3 hours.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →interesting game, nice if you want a quaint slow paced memory puzzle game, not my cup of tea
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a Very Short game, The game can be completed with a lot of patience, the controls are quite the frustration builder and to be honest, the end doesn't justify the means here, the amount off struggle in this short gameplay truly makes this game hard to enjoy especially when you consider it's over before it began so it's like struggle struggle struggle, finish and no reward. That is what you are in for here. If they spend some more time on this game completing it, polishing it up and maybe just…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I immediately gave up after the controls were explained. Complete trash.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Controls: 7/10 - The controls are a little bit strange, but if you get used to them, they are kinda ok, but they could be better Graphics: 9/10 - This game is cute, some parts are a little off (for example Lily carrying the book in the intro), but the rest of the graphics are very nice Sound/Music: 10/10 - There is nothing to say about, it fits really great Story: 9/10 - from what i can tell now, the story is strange and i look forward to unravelling the story behind this Overall: 9/10 -…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short, challenging puzzle game with an innocent and nostalgic vibe.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm so torn for this game. I want to say that it is interesting, but the control system keeps me from truley enjoying it. Me and my brother have a little lets play channel were we check the game out, go ahead and give our video a watch before you decied to buy it. https://youtu.be/0A0WnDF37pw
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The world is well thought out and designed. I enjoyed the puzzles, although tricky at times, and was always intrigued to find out where I was heading. If you fancy a game with a strong sense of style, unique controls and interesting puzzles then I recommend you give this game a go. Pros: Creepy Moderate Difficulty Sinister Art Style Two Character One Player Controlls Story Cons: Snapping Character Movements Game NOT DONE. Kinda broken
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hey guys Shiba here, writing my first review of a game on steam so bare with me! We'll keep it short and sweet cause I have a video I'll attach! Pros: Creepy, Moderate Difficulty, Sinister Art Style, Two Character One Player Controlls, and Story (I assume this gets even creepier as the story progresses just from the evidence of the 3rd Level) Cons: Headache from trying to hard to solve simple puzzle, Snapping of Character Movements and, Not Finished!(This one is game breaking!) Check out the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Needs work, but has a lot of potential.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tim Burton visual aethetic, which is straight away a strike against it in my book. It has one of those annoying "contol 2 people at the same time" mechanics which were all the rage in indie games a few years back. Thank Christ that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ died a death. The camera is crap. That's as far as I got, because I couldn't stand playing it any more. Just awful.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A short puzzle game with a simple, but surprisingly challenging premise. The only mechanic is moving two siblings around at the same time with the same movement keys. The trick is that the siblings do not move at the same speed, requiring some nimble fingers to get them where they need to be. The atmosphere is pretty and interesting.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Land Of Lamia is short but sweet. The puzzles can be tricky, but they are doable. Only three brief levels, but each is well made. Only had one glitch on level 2 when I was trying to get one of the greyed areas for the puizzle near the top of the higher house section. Thomas seems to have fallen over the side of the hill or off the walkway by the house and left Lily up there. I was unable to progress in that situation, so after a couple minutes restarted the level. Since they are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →first i have to say this game doesn't have much levels and puzzles YET! but i played this game with a lot of fun. sometimes it was very difficult to play both charakters at the same time but it is a challenge for itself. i really love this game and i will wait for more levels to come. The atmosphere of the game is fantastic. it pulls you right into the best mood to play this beautiful game. the artwork is fantastic and it is diffrent from other indie games which is awesome and very unique. it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So this could potentially be a sweet and short puzzle game but it ends up being not-too-accessible and didn't really make me want to put my time into it. (This is one of these games I don't even remember how they got into my library but wanted to understand what's the deal with them) Technically speaking this is not the most impressive game you'll find, even for indie titles from around a decade ago, but it's not really bad, just cheap. I did find the graphics, music, and the whole mysterious…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game should have been titled Lame-ia it could have it would have but it just was'nt worth the price of admission back to the drawing board with this POS save your change for micky D's value menu
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tags: Adventure - Console Style Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: No Xbox360 pad. Fixed camera angles 2-protag object routing through stiff and cryptic puzzles that are very hard to execute correctly. 3 minigame instances and game is done. So basically this is three instances in which you get a few hints on a piece of in-game art and you are dumped in a 3D environment. You have to manage momentum of characters that dont walk at same speed and in minigame 1 you…
