The Hangover
When three friends finally come to after a raucous night of bachelor-party revelry, they find a baby in the closet and a tiger in the bathroom. But they can't seem to locate their best friend, Doug – who's supposed to be tying the knot. Launching a frantic search for Doug, the trio perseveres through a nasty hangover to try to make it to the church on time. From TMDB

Watching it in the States, without cultural context, it's a dark beautiful film about two mates whose lives are on different frequencies. An inevitable trainwreck of a friendship
unlabelledView post →Spoilers for Nirvana the Band the Show the Movie They figure out they've traveled back to 2008 because a theater full of people are laughing at a scene from The Hangover where Ed Helms gets called Doctor Faggot and that was real that was a real joke in a massively successful movie

unlabelledView post →Kind of remarkable how much the modern conservative version of masculinity is solely built on a Hollywood fantasy of the drunk stooge. You’re openly conflating your entire identity with a, at best, cut scene from the fourth movie in the Hangover franchise?
unlabelledView post →Remember almost 2 decades ago when the Hangover film made the gay-slur jokes and now society is like "woof what were we thinking", well in 2026 imagine a politician that makes the same jokes just without the slurs!

As the credits started to roll, someone started to clap, and eventually what I judge to have been a majority of the crowd gave the film a round of applause.

Made stars out of Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis. The JOKER movie WISHES it could have the profitability & cultural impact THE HANGOVER did.

I was his lighting double in the movie," and the kid got wide-eyed. I just walked away before getting anymore response.

In that movie, Bradley Cooper's character, who is an asshole, calls one of those a "man purse". That was MY satchel now. And I learned how terror ruled people.
