Great fun double bill for fans of the 70s blaxploitation era. #filmsky #blaxploitation #dolemite #grindhouse
unlabelledView post →I've been thinking about how The Room had The Disaster Artist, Troll 2 had Best Worst Movie, and Plan 9 from Outer Space had Tim Burton's Ed Wood, but we're still missing the definitive movie-about-the-movie for Manos: The Hands of Fate
unlabelledView post →>be film made by delusional wannabe Hollywood bigshot >have no understanding of how humans act >be vanity project for director casting self as blatant self-insert >be incredibly misogynist >be full of baffling inept directorial decisions >be 2017's The Disaster Artist >pic tangentially related

I hope she's right: I have a big shoot planned tomorrow and the weather forecast is calling for Lake Effect Snow. #Buffalo #filmmaking #Director #horrormovies

unlabelledView post →This weekend's watch. A double feature. THE ROOM, the WTF cult film considered one of the worst ever made, by the mysterious Tommy Wisseau for a staggering $6.5M... and THE DISASTER ARTIST, about the making of said film, with James Franco as Wisseau. Here's the former: archive.org/details/ther...
unlabelledView post →Theres going to be a showing of The Room (yea that one) near me and in preparation Im trying to read through The Disaster Artist about the making of the movie and 1) This is one book I needed to experience via audiobook specifically bc the reader does Tommy's accent lmao 2) Jesus Fucking Christ
unlabelledView post →I have a lot of love with The Room. On top of the joy of introducing to so many people, I’m also quite obsessed with the lore surrounding it. The Disaster Artist book (or in my case audiobook) is something I highly recommend for anyone curious to learn more about this crazy movie to check out!
unlabelledView post →I finished The Disaster Artist and man, what a really good read. I rec watching The Room before and after reading TDA and honestly if you dont read TDA I still recommend watching TR bc itll definitely dispell any imposter syndrome u have, but TDA puts a new perspective on that awful movie lol
unlabelledView post →THE ROOM is back at The Frida Cinema on March 13th, with our best friend- the star of THE ROOM and best-selling author of The Disaster Artist, Greg Sestero, joining us for the fun to introduce the film in-person 🏈 🎟️: thefridacinema.org/movies/the-r...

unlabelledView post →This movie pretty much got me through 2013-2014. I couldn't watch it again without Rifftrax. I highly recommend the book The Disaster Artist (not the movie) that offers a behind the scenes look into the weirdness of the movie and the writer/producer/director.
unlabelledView post →According to the Disaster Artist movie, Greg Sestero met Tommy Wiseau on 7/13/1998 at an acting class. That was my 15th birthday. Coincidence? I think not.
unlabelledView post →In the Disaster Artist, Greg sestero said the movie moved Tommy and deeply resonated with him (prob bc Tommy has lied about his own identity). He named Greg’s character Mark after the guy he thought played Tom Ripley… Mark Damon lol
unlabelledView post →Der Film von Tim Burton ist übrigens wirklich sehr lohnenswert! Ähnlich wie "The Disaster Artist" zu Tommy Wiseau, dem Schöpfer von "The Room". #LezFaZ #SchleFaZ #SchleFaZAdventsquiz #Plan9FromOuterSpace #EdWood #WirSindSchleFaZ
unlabelledView post →Just thinking about The Disaster Artist, and how it's an astonishing book and a terrible film. And it's because the book is about power dynamics and abuse and the film is about a kooky weirdo.
unlabelledView post →Greg Sestero (The Room, The Disaster Artist) was in the teaser trailer for #BigShark, but he does not appear in the eventual movie. Bless him for being willing to try working with Tommy again! 😄 There didn't seem to be any grudges on either side. Maybe he had a conflict. #FrightClub
unlabelledView post →If you really want to go down the rabbit hole on this one, there's a good film from 2017 called "The Disaster Artist" that's worth a watch. 👍
unlabelledView post →I finally watched The Room Despite its ironic popularity and even seeing the movie The Disaster Artist I just never felt the desire to actually watch it but seeing Bob Odenkirk remaking the film, i decided to watch it with my best friend and it was a fucking blast Equal parts hilarious and cringe
unlabelledView post →The Disaster Artist wasn't even supposed to be about bad filmmaking, James Franco just showed up and made a terrible film, so they kept it in.
unlabelledView post →#TBRuary 14 This miiight be a stretch but DisneyWar. I like behind the scenes facts about movies. I'm the annoying person with little movie factoids no one cares about. If you're like that, too, I rec: The Disaster Artist, about the making of the movie The Room. The book's better than the movie.
unlabelledView post →Someone should make a Disaster Artist-style movie about American Movie/Coven but slyly turn it into a Mike Schank biopic, showcasing a true role model for male friendship and the way forward in these atomized times. But unlike The Disaster Artist, they should make a good movie.
unlabelledView post →I talked about how I hated the Leprechaun book because the writer made it about himself. You know what did this the worst: The Disaster Artist movie. The movie uses the making of The Room to at every moment talk about James Franco and his friends and family not the actual story.
unlabelledView post →if you watch the Disaster Artist first, you’ll understand a lot of the lore & also be like “how bad could this movie actually be?” & then you’ll see The Room & be like “jfc” we could watch it tomorrow if you have your heart set on another film for today
unlabelledView post →The Disaster Artist is one of my favorite books, and the movie doesn’t hold a candle to it. Haven’t heard of The October Film Haunt, but it sounds interesting.
unlabelledView post →I don't know if I'd call it a biopic per se, but I would love a movie about the making of The Wizard of Oz in the vein of Ed Wood or The Disaster Artist. Margaret Hamilton's story is under-represented compared to Judy Garland.
unlabelledView post →You see, because Room (2015) has a whole separate Wikipedia page for all of its nominations and awards, while The Room (2003) got a movie called The Disaster Artist about the making-of. Hopefully this clears up why everyone was wrong to give my joke 0 likes and 0 reskeets.
unlabelledView post →It seems that the Disaster Artist movie ( or at least James Franco) might've killed off the ironic fanbase for the Room. That long reconstruction of scenes from the Room might've been the exact moment.
unlabelledView post →#NovelleVague fillm: 1) the filiming of "Breathless" ("Un Boute de Souffle") mirrors director #RichardLinklater 's own indie movie shoots. 2) #JeanLucGodard is depicted like #EdWood in Tim Burton's bio, and #TommyWiseau in "The Disaster Artist". Stylish fun.
unlabelledView post →If you’ve never read The Disaster Artist it’s a hoot, the filming was just as weird as the film. (The Disaster Artist movie is completely superfluous though)
unlabelledView post →The Disaster Artist (2017) Do you like this movie about the making of The Room starring James and Dave Franco? My guests to discuss that film year: Matthew Anderson and Saleah Blancaflor #movies #filmsky
unlabelledView post →Watched The Room (2003) with @perrupls.bsky.social, it was their first time. What a movie. I really ought to pick up a copy of The Disaster Artist book
unlabelledView post →It's a possibility. I recommend the book "the Disaster Artist" written by Mark's actor, as it gives some insight on the behind the scenes stuff. They adapted that into a movie as well, but like most 'based on true story' materials it changes a few events here and there.
unlabelledView post →Finished Frankenstein, thought it was ok, next book is The Disaster Artist by Greg Sestero #BookSky #cinema #film #movies #tommywiseau
unlabelledView post →what a story Maddy also I recommend The Disaster Artist on audiobook bc Greg reads it and his impression of Tommy is absolutely unmatched. The book and movie differ thematically too.
unlabelledView post →The Disaster Artist (Greg Sestero's book, not the Franco movie) is very good and has lots of fun "behind the scenes" trivia that makes some parts of the movie even funnier and other parts very sad. The Franco movie was just ok at best though.
unlabelledView post →Greg Sestero. And of course that's not his character name (oh hi Mark), but real name. The book is called The Disaster Artist, and I think it's been made into a movie as well?
unlabelledView post →i did not/will not watch The Disaster Artist (2017) about the making of this film due to the Franco of it all (Senior, not Junior) and i'm discomfited by how this cover's depiction so closely resembles Sebastian Stan to me. but I'm gonna do it!!
unlabelledView post →I was going to say that the only time I could remember doing that was watching The Room before watching The Disaster Artist.... But then I remembered that I watched every single Doctor Who episode before watching the movie. And while I definitely enjoyed watching it as a whole...
unlabelledView post →The colorised version makes it more bearable. Also the ED WOOD film gives you all the background to it being made. It's like watching The Disaster Artist before watching The Room
unlabelledView post →A good read is a book called "The Disaster Artist" it talks about the making of the best awful movie all time called "the room". Its such a fascinating and oddly uplifting book.
unlabelledView post →My ★★★★ review of The Disaster Artist on @letterboxd: boxd.it/pZg59
unlabelledView post →Last night we watched #TheDisasterArtist and it was a fun time. It made me remember many years ago watching #TheRoom in a theatre and spoons being thrown and people running across the stage. It’s a windy day out today. Making for a chilly start to the day.
unlabelledView post →I'm so sad I'll skip ahead to a more recent 5-star rating: THE DISASTER ARTIST (i.e. THE ROOM memoir). If you liked the movie adaptation and/or were let down by the movie, the book is SO much more mind-boggling. Consider it on audiobook so you can hear Greg Sestero do his mom's French accent.
unlabelledView post →can also recommend "the Disaster Artist" book by Greg Sestero (Mark's actor), really enjoyed that one! (there's a movie about it too but i haven't watched it)
unlabelledView post →It's why THE DISASTER ARTIST leaves a bad taste in my mouth: The movie is VERY clear that Wiseau is at best mentally ill and at worst an abusive creep, but then it gives him a fairy tale triumph ending anyway and trotted the real guy out for a celebratory press tour.
unlabelledView post →You should read “The Disaster Artist.” It’s a tell-all by Greg Sestero (the guy who played Mark in the movie) about the production of The Room and how batshit insane Tommy Wiseau is. It’s WILD.
unlabelledView post →I'd settle for the Disaster Artist-style tell-all book on the making of the film.
unlabelledView post →First time seeing The Disaster Artist since 2017. I love the Room - this movie is… okay. I really enjoy James Franco as Tommy Wiseau, he did a good job. Greg Sestero’s actual book is so much better tho. Still, it’s a decent enough film.

unlabelledView post →anyway I think they should make a film out of The Disaster Artist
unlabelledView post →👎🎬Today in #FilmHistory🎬👎 "The Disaster Artist"(2017) was released. The movie is based on the memoir The Disaster Artist: My Life Inside The Room, The Greatest Bad Movie Ever Made by Greg Sestero and Tom Bissell. #OTD
unlabelledView post →The Disaster Artist goes quite a bit into how he identified with the movie.
unlabelledView post →I just saw for the first time ever The Disaster Artist, as someone who has never seen The Room I must now watch it and analyze the actual intention of the director. The entire history behind the film is fascinating. Am familiar with the urban legend of where Tommy Wiseau made his wealth.
unlabelledView post →I can't think of a movie I soured on quickly on retrospect the same way that I did for The Disaster Artist. It basically became a vanity project for James Franco instead of a celebration of the very impact that The Room had.
unlabelledView post →Sorry I didn’t read the tweet are they making a “The Disaster Artist” style movie about the making of “Tommy Boy”? If so, why only release an image of their David Spade?
