The Big Blue
Childhood friends Jacques and Enzo share a passion for the danger of free diving. Jacques, following in the footsteps of his father, who died at sea when Jacques was a boy, harbors a remarkable ability to adjust his heart rate and breathing patterns in the water, with his vital signs more closely resembling those of dolphins than men. With the My Adventures cartoon and now this movie, I'm really glad we're getting the Big Blue Boy Scout version of the character back in the forefront of media. The world is so hellish. I want a hero who gives me hope.

The Seas with Nemo and Friends, ends with the characters singing “In the Big Blue World.” But that song was written for Finding Nemo the Musical in Dinoland. It does not appear in the film.

unlabelledView post →Gunn's Superman reminds me of the Justice League cartoon, All-Star Superman, the Superman that Christopher Reeves brought to the world. It remembers that Superman is "the Big Blue Boyscout" the way Batman is "the Detective". It's probably my favorite Superman movie, now.
unlabelledView post →Just saw James Gunn's Superman. Turns out that in order to make a good film about the Big Blue Boy Scout, one needs to focus on the "man" and not the "super." I hope Zack Snyder sees it and takes notes.
unlabelledView post →James Gunn's Superman is the interpretation of the Big Blue Boy Scout that I have been waiting for! The movie isn't perfect. It has flaws, but just like #Superman, it wears its heart on its sleeve—and that’s what makes the movie soar.
