He ultimately declined. Sadly, Wilder died weeks after The BFG's release. One has to wonder what role he was offered.
unlabelledView post →i am genuinely staggered by the fact that Sainsburys have based their Christmas adverts on the 2016 film The BFG, a film with almost no cultural footprint, for the SECOND YEAR IN A ROW
unlabelledView post →🎵 Hello darkness my old friend, I’ve come to talk to you again, I have a question you may know the answer, About the dog belonging to the actor, Who played the role of the BFG in Spielberg’s film of the same name, (The same name), Is this the hound of Rylance🎵
unlabelledView post →Spielberg is one of the greatest but I don’t feel automatically compelled to see his latest movie. I didn’t see RPO or the BFG because I didn’t think I would like em. I saw and was very disappointed by THE POST. But he’s on a hot streak this decade and I’ll be there for his latest
unlabelledView post →you're forgetting The BFG, never forget The BFG. actually his worst movie of this late period. worse even than Ready Player One. i like to give Steve a pass on The Post. watching Trump take office was a weird time for everyone.
unlabelledView post →The only Spielberg movie that I've actually thought was bad was The BFG so I'm feeling real sour seeing posts on here that say he hasn't made anything good in over a decade
unlabelledView post →Ten fave Spielbergs: 1. Ready Player One 2. 1941 3. Hook 4. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull 5. War Horse 6. His quarter of The Twilight Zone: The Movie 7. The BFG 8. The Lost World: Jurassic Park 9. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom 10. Always
unlabelledView post →between this and TG Jones I feel like I've been transported into a parallel version of Britain, one where the BFG was a big enough movie to justify a major supermarket using it in the branding for the most lucrative marketing period for TWO YEARS IN A ROW
unlabelledView post →The BFG to me is the exact same as the fake Scorsese tumblr movie. I’ve never seen it bc it doesn’t exist and no amount of prankish Wikipedia editing that it’s real is going to fool me.
unlabelledView post →And on top of that, their “amazing” AI looks like the BFG whereas the one in the actual movie is literally a real guy just big so looks fantastic.
unlabelledView post →This might be a uniquely British horror, but I rewatched the 1989 animated film "The BFG", and unlocked a few deep rooted childhood memories. Most of this film is a watercolour nightmare, and I haven't even shared what the other giants looked like... Bonkers film.
unlabelledView post →You know Disney's 2016 film "The BFG" wasn't the first time the Roald Dahl story was made into a film? There was a British animated version made in 1989 that was "direct to TV". (technically making the 2016 film another Disney remake). If you've seen both versions, which one do you prefer?
unlabelledView post →Thanks, algorithm 🥺, I see them up so close everyday.. it's weird when you've always seemed to scare off critters, even when well meaning 🙂. the point is not us, it's them so small dealing with the BFG 🧐 The girl hides in a nasty veggie,.so if it's watched the movie.. it'll you. or you succeed!
unlabelledView post →DISCLOSURE DAY is Spielberg's first contemporary-set film since THE BFG in 2016. Prior to that it was WAR OF THE WORLDS in 2005.
unlabelledView post →Seeing this movie poster hit me with a hard flashback; I had a brief obsession with Disney's The BFG back then that I made a silly lil bookmark abt it. Let me tell u rn I don't remember anything about that movie 👁️👄👁️ #art #tradart #bookmark #yanovel #sge

unlabelledView post →I love Spielberg and The BFG is his worst movie by a country mile. Actively terrible by nearly every metric. A river of shit. Only worth watching if you want to do a podcast about how bad it is
unlabelledView post →Tonight's the-holidays-are-for-kids film was The BFG (2016). Coming right off of Like Stories of Old's video on the failings of modern Hollywood cinema's visual tendencies, it's all the more obvious how Disney's New Tens house style can cramp even our greatest filmmakers, but it's not a wash. 🧵
unlabelledView post →Controversial opinion: Doom Annihilation is way better than Doom With The Rock In It. No, I'm not saying it's an amazing film that everyone should see. But at least they got the BFG semi-correct and there were some actual demons in it! This thread is lots of fun too
unlabelledView post →Mark Rylance is the king of picking weird film roles with crazy accents. His character in The BFG oddly might be his most normal? #filmsky

unlabelledView post →Spielberg's worst 21st century film by far is The BFG imo because it just kind of sits there without much incident, doesn't even do enough to be considered a debacle or to have tried things that don't quite work, just kind of dull
unlabelledView post →Spielberg and his crew deserve credit for making The BFG more of an actual movie than most of Disney's 2010-onward output because many other filmmakers like Burton and Condon and Ritchie could not overcome their Everything Is Computer Sludge aesthetics.
unlabelledView post →Oh!! I haven't read the BFG I was thinkin maybe everyone had taken the term from the Ghibli movie that's loosely based on the books (The Secret Life of Arrietty)
unlabelledView post →OoooooOOoo fizzy 😅 Made me think of the BFG movie. Fizz pop, pizza bang 🤣
unlabelledView post →It's good to have a back up lol The Black Cauldron is a weird movie but it is really well animated and I like dark fantasy so had to add it to my collection. I still need to find The Last Unicorn, The Flight of Dragons, The BFG and the Rankin Bass Hobbit movie.
unlabelledView post →He's got a few stinkers (he wouldn't be as great without taking some risks), but the BFG is completely unwatchable. I think unless you're Miyazaki you can get too old to make a kids movie, and the VFX felt dated before the end credits ran.

unlabelledView post →We had it preserved on a copy of the British animated movie version of The BFG that we taped around the same time. My little brother was obsessed with the movie and watched it repeatedly, so the ad hung around in our household for much longer too!
unlabelledView post →about what the characters look or sound like (for instance Blanka in the game doesn't talk) just as long as they portray the characters as they are in-game. That said Andrew Koji has a WICKED way he produces the hadoken .. its after effects similar to that of the BFG from the Doom movie

unlabelledView post →Weird that they ranked The BFG that high since that movie doesn't actually exist.
unlabelledView post →I worked on the BFG (3D conversion comp) and I always forget that movie was a Spielberg joint

unlabelledView post →I’ve been reading “The BFG” by Roald Dahl to my son. We’re almost done, and I’ve been thinking about showing him the movie when we finish. Now I’m rethinking that. He has a visual world he created in his mind from our reading; if I show him the movie, Spielberg’s BFG is going to replace his.
unlabelledView post →I read both The BFG and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - the original texts too - over the holidays. I will say Dahl's rep. for weirdness is well deserved. And the Chocolate Factory book is even weirder than either of it's film versions. 💙📚

unlabelledView post →The BFG (1989) one of my early Christmas memories, maybe my 1st, was the tv premiere of this on Christmas day and what a huge deal it was (earlier this year I actually found an old BFG coloring book of mine from this movie in my parents attic!) it’s been a lifetime but time for a rewatch! #FilmSky

unlabelledView post →Steven Spielberg is maybe the greatest living filmmaker. And whenever people get into the topic of "What is his worst movie?" most go to READY PLAYER ONE or KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL or THE TERMINAL as his worst (all 3 rule by the way) when the correct answer is THE BFG. A film that is real.
unlabelledView post →Spielberg hasn't made a bad film since ''The Lost World'' (still fun to watch). In the 21st Century, his weakest movies: "The BFG" and "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" are still good. He's just been making non-stop great films since then: The Post, Ready Player One, West Side Story, The Fabelmans.
unlabelledView post →And finally, these are my rankings for each movie: - The Witches ('90) - The BFG ('89) - Willy Wonka - James and the Giant Peach - The BFG (2018) - Matilda - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - Fantastic Mr. Fox - 36 Hours - The Witches (2020)
unlabelledView post →The BFG Remake: When I saw this in the theater with my brother, I thought it wasn't that great. But seeing it a second time I have a much higher opinion of this movie. It's not as fantastical as the original but it does have the same heart as the original. A much better watch the second time around.
unlabelledView post →The BFG: This is such an underrated animated 80s movie. The songs are wonderful, the designs are very unique compared to other movies of the time period and the two main characters are adorable. If you haven't seen this movie yet I highly recommend checking it out now
unlabelledView post →It is the Doom movie from 2005-ish, and the figure from Doom: Dark Ages for Xbox X. The movie is mostly terrible, but the BFG and the practical effects are pretty great.
unlabelledView post →So many of the replies are saying READY PLAYER ONE cause groupthink has settled in. The book is trash and everything it preaches is awful but the movie rips and does its own thing. Incredible technical filmmaking throughout. The correct answer is THE BFG.
