Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny
In Venice Beach, naive Midwesterner JB bonds with local slacker KG and they form the rock band Tenacious D. Setting out to become the world's greatest band is no easy feat, so they set out to steal what could be the answer to their prayers... a magical guitar pick housed in a rock-and-roll museum some 300 miles away. neutral · AI labelView post →Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny (2006) Glad I could finally watch this pretty solid comedy. Mainly because my point of reference for Tenacious D is no longer exclusively 'Karate' being used as the intro for 2007's Yu Yu Hakusho Abridged.

negative · AI labelView post →Finally watched "A Minecraft movie" Still can't believe Jason Momoa killed one of the kids for stealing his diamonds and Jack Black whipped out his "dynamite Johnson" and gave back shots to the Enderman. Gave me memory's of Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny.🔥

I am not an expert about non-soundtrack music, but I feel the genre this movie pays tribute to always resonated with me the most.

positive · AI labelView post →Good news everyone, I'm happy to report that Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny (2006, dir. Liam Lynch) still absolutely fuckin' rips. Only poorly ages an agreeable amount, but it still manages to fit the overall purposefully crass and juvenile tone. That album's been on permanent rotation for ages.

positive · AI labelView post →18. Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny (dir. Lynch, 2006). I swear, this is the last bad-but-fun movie (at least, for a little while). My friends and I were obsessed with this flick in high school. I'll concede, it does lose its lustre in light of Jack Black turning out to be un-rock as fuck.

neutral · AI labelView post →Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny will have me dying every time, stoned or not. Though most likely baked out of my fucking mind, because that's how it's meant to be watched. Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back will always hold a special place to me as one of Kevin Smith's funniest, but that's heavily a nostalgic one for me. I remember being one of 8 people in the local theater the day it opened, my dad pulled me out of school to go see it. Even just seeing the DVD menu makes me grin like a loon.
