If you know me you can imagine how excited I was to design Triassic species for this show! #paleoart #sciart #conceptart
unlabelledView post →Tonight there will be another NEW episode of Surviving Earth, but before that let me show you the concept design of one of the cranky Hyperodapedon from last week’s episode. I love rhynchosaurs, so it was a dream come true when I was asked to create this creature design #paleoart #sciart
unlabelledView post →Episode 2 of Surviving Earth premiered last night on NBC and is now available on Peacock! This episode deals with the consequences of the Carnian Pluvial event! Here I can show you the concept art of Panphagia and the baby Ischigualastia (the latter you’ve already seen) #paleoart #sciart #conceptart

unlabelledView post →I hadn't realized that SURVIVING EARTH, an paleo documentary series coming this year, was A.) created by Tim Haines of Walking With Dinosaurs and B.) seemingly committed to engaging with genuine weirdness of prehistoric landscapes. Extremely exciting stuff to me personally
unlabelledView post →I am so excited for you to see all the amazing animals that will appear in this amazing show. “Surviving Earth” will premiere next year on NBC Universal’s Peacock. Thank you to Tim Haines and everyone else in the team for counting on me for the first step to bring these amazing animals back to life!

We discuss his new series Surviving Earth, environmentalist messaging and much more besides. Do give us a listen. – Marc

unlabelledView post →Tonight’s episode of Surviving Earth has been the highlight of the series thus far, it captured the WWD magic! This felt like the most fully realised ecosystem we’ve seen so far and the split focus on two species allowed for a much more believable, less manufactured narrative. (1/6)
unlabelledView post →What’s interesting is that there are two eight-episode TV series that focus on mass extinctions: Animal Armageddon and Surviving Earth. Each show’s positives and negatives are exact inverses of each other

unlabelledView post →A criticism I've seen of Surviving Earth is that most of the events happened over a long period of time, which is not conveyed well in the series. I think an improvement would've been to regularly show how much time elapsed since the start of each event like in Animal Armageddon.

unlabelledView post →A complete disappointment. At least Tim Haines, the creator of the original show, is creating an eight part series on mass extinctions called Surviving Earth (with practical effects!!!)
unlabelledView post →So that was When America Melted, ending Surviving Earth. It was a good ending to the show as it could be, an 8/10. Well, the show was a fine addition to the palaeo canon. Not as bad it could have been. A decent ending to Tim Haines' true career.
unlabelledView post →Yeah, while it isn’t the OG walking with format, this does present an opportunity to show how paleontology works and what being a paleontologist is like, which is absolutely necessary. Plus, Surviving Earth is on the horizon and that IS more akin to the original format.
unlabelledView post →One more episode of Surviving Earth airing tomorrow, so I just wanted to sum up my experience so far with the show.

unlabelledView post →From the latest episode of the Surviving Earth documentary titled "When the Oceans Shrank." Overall, I'm really enjoying the whole series with their interesting storytelling, periods, and fauna that have never been shown before.
unlabelledView post →The most recent episode of Surviving Earth includes a sequence where a pliosaur bitch slaps a shark, so that's a mark in the series' favor.
unlabelledView post →All of that, embodied in one picture. And surely, they chose it for a reason - I can only imagine it was supposed to be emblematic of Surviving Earth as a series.
unlabelledView post →(I'm reposting the few BTS photos of Surviving Earth far too frequently...Still waiting for more news of the series...)
unlabelledView post →#blindguess Anyone else fascinated with the Surviving Earth series? One of these weird creatures is going to show up as a Jeopardy answer one of these days! 😄
unlabelledView post →Surviving Earth had more runtime than an episode of Prehistoric Planet but I think both really could’ve benefited from an extra 20 minutes or a separate full-length “science of” special. More content and context could only benefit the show!

unlabelledView post →In a much better world, maybe that would've been saved for a section based on Surviving Earth (since NBC owns the series, yet still hasn't announced the first damn trailer yet) Just in general, the work of Tim Haines deserve more than that Rowling slop.
unlabelledView post →Dragon's caramba! It's beautifully detailed! Hope we'll get to se more of it. Bravo to the team of this series. I'm looking forward to Surviving Earth next year. ^^

unlabelledView post →It’s Surviving Earth Day the show not just what living in the present feels like now.
unlabelledView post →How about Surviving Earth? Given that the show is almost here, it stands to reason that we’re probably getting the official trailer at long last this month. Talking about the show and spreading awareness to help people get ready for it would be rad
unlabelledView post →Yeah, while I do appreciate what the new show is going for, the original I think still has valuable scicomm purposes in that it truly does showcase prehistoric life as living animals, thus we have that connection. Hence I’m excited for Surviving Earth.

unlabelledView post →nice marathon of Surviving Earth and The Americas on NBC tonight part of the joy of broadcast TV is seeing an ad for a show and writing down when it's gonna be on and making sure to tune in at the right time you get something to look forward to rather than something to binge

unlabelledView post →2026-07-13. Dear writers for 'Surviving Earth' show: I would learn more from your show if you would stop pushing the baby carriage into oncoming traffic every 5 minutes or so. Forcing me to care about CGI dinosaurs only makes me learn to change the channel, not about them.
unlabelledView post →The amount of lies through omission, or decontextualized statements Surviving Earth puts out there is enough to convince me this show is nothing more than pseudoscientific propaganda coated in the pretty veneer of a paleo docuseries.
unlabelledView post →Consider what audiences know going in, and what someone who watches a show like Surviving Earth is likely to watch. If you watch Surviving Earth, there's probably a good chance you watched Neflix's The Dinosaurs. That has tons of problems, but it does show pseudosuchians doing well after the CPE.
