positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved this game back in the day. Its still a ton of fun but the crashes make it almost unplayable. If you get this, set a timer for every 10 min to hit save. The number of times I've been an hour or two into a game and hit with a crash is wild! It says I've put over 60 hours in but I would say at least 15 were wasted by being in at least an hour+ and about to finish a game just to have it crash and start over. For that I cannot reccomend.

I remember playing this in 2003 and back then it was one of my favourite RTS's . If we ignore the fact that this game for modern standards is old and judge it for what it was back then , it's 9/10

Building up a base as the Galactic Empire, managing shields, and sending a swarm of Mech troops to crush a Wookiee village feels incredibly satisfying. The pathfinding can be a bit dated and janky, but the sheer nostalgia and classic RTS mechanical depth make it a blast to play.

I'm not complaining about the low resolution or the 4:3 aspect ratio, but rather the bugs that prevent me from playing. Sadly this is now an unsupported, literally unplayable POS. You have to install third party apps just to get it to run, and even then that is only sometimes. Now my game doesn't even play. Wish they'd give this the treatment all of the AOE games got. Just sad how bad this has become.

Steam needs to provide an internal fix or patch. If they do not fix this, then they should pull the game. A Steam purchase should not require use of third-party sites with risk exposure (spyware, malware, cyber risk, etc.) I have not yet requested a refund, but in a month or so I would do so if Steam does not rectify the issue. This was one of the first games my dad introduced me and my little brother to and I love every pixel of it.
