(if you ignore mods for the originals) Content originally exclusive to console DLC! (if you ignore mods for the originals) Co-Op! (it's split-screen, and barely functions if you use it with remote play) Honestly just get the originals instead of giving more money for this low-effort failure.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Singleplayer is still good, but damn did I really want the muiltiplayer in this game to work. Will never forgive Aspyr for this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Aspyr really fu**ed this one into the ground. Sure it works but not well. Performance is still good but I just can't see how they didn't even play 5 minutes of the game before shopping it. Blast doors have gaps in them so you can see through whilst they're closed, enemy AI ONLY ATTACKS THE USER NOT OTHER TEAM AI, the AI also runs directly to you from half way across the map regardless of difficulty setting or map. It's just a clunky mess with Aspyr even stealing someone else's mod for the OG…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After finishing 100% of the achievements for the battlefront classic collection, would I recommend it? I got this being someone who was old enough to play the originals when they were new and being blown away with them as a kid, so nostalgia fuelled me to play this too. For me it just felt like the original ports that had been made to be fully compatible with current hard and software, with up-scaled graphics and more multiplayer support. However at launch there was there were several issues…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bad port and money grab. Highest disappointment in years.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played the original both alone and with friends. I wouldn't play this with my enemies, or friends, or alone. Thank you for your time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You guys have legitimately disappointed me, Aspyr. This is a sad joke of a remake and you know the potential of these old games. Highly disappointed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A shameless and mean spirited port of what is probably the best shooter of the 2000s.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I forgot to refund this in time after the scuffed launch this collection had. Now that it has faded into irrelevance and nearly two years have passed to fix the bugs, I finally booted it up to see if the initial bad press still holds water. The multiplayer is completely dead. Despite checking the server list multiple times, I've only joined a server with one other person on it. I can't speak for BF1, but BF2 still has a small contingent of active players keeping it alive. These servers are a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pain, suffering, death I feel. Something terrible has happened. Young Skywalker is in pain. Terrible pain.

unlabelledView post →My review will only cover singleplayer, as I did not play multiplayer. These games have always been good and fun to play. But I find the port rather lazy. Some tweaks using AI for textures are nice but you can already do that with the original game and even end up with better visuals. I wish it had been more ambitious, for example actually improving the bots artificial intelligence. Also actually working on the textures not just slapping on an AI pass would have been the bare minimum if you’re…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →how the multiplayer is somehow worse than the old ports is ridiculous. the only reason I can see someone playing this over the other ports on steam is if you want actual controller support
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Abandonware. Only good sides are Splitscreens games and controller support But its still a buggy mess and theres so many issues with this game that need fixing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This version is a massive downgrade from what is already available in the original Star Wars Battleront II (Classic, 2005) on GOG/Steam (especially with there being so many QoL mod upgrades!!). Aspyr could and should have done so much better with this legendary game. If they gave the source files to the community, we could have modernized this game and attracted so many more fans back. Extremely disappointing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was able to get it for around €13, but I have to say this: even if this game were free, I would still buy the original two games separately; I would have more fun for sure. I usually prefer to buy remasters just to see how they’ve improved the game visually or mechanically while revisiting my childhood classics, but holy moly—as an experienced studio, they managed to ♥♥♥♥ it up so badly. First of all, when it comes to visuals, they barely did anything—it's the absolute bare minimum. There…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →On a sale and you're still trying to charge people £21,99 for this garbage of a remake?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was so excited for this. Battlefront II is my favourite game of all time, and I was keen to jump back into multiplayer servers and relive the glory days. But even over a year later, this still feels like nothing more than a hi-res texture pack. The game fails to improve anything meaningful. I thought at the very least I’d be able to create a private Galactic Conquest match, but that still doesn’t work. You still have to rely on Remote Play, and it’s buggy as hell. Aside from some added…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can't even call this a remaster, it's a port of the Xbox version (and a really poor one lol). It's a buggy mess that adds nothing beyond better performance and heroes that were already in the Xbox version. The rest is just visual and interface bugs, with no mod support and to make matters worse, the multiplayer is dead. A real disappointment honestly, I expected so much more from this version. I strongly recommend buying the 2005 version instead of this $30 nostalgia cash grab... Glad that…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a port of Battlefront 1 and 2 that works well on steam deck, with native controller support. If that is what you want then this has you covered. Apparently this was a mess at launch but I have not encountered any major issues after few hours of playing mostly on deck. I am not bothered about online multiplayer either and have only played the game solo. It's functional but there is a lot more that could have been done here to make the package more exciting.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Half-assed money grab that was practically abandoned after they released it with far too many bugs and issues.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If into the Classic Collection you go, only pain will you find - Master Yoda. I played other Aspyr Slop Re-releases, and I read the negative reviews here, and I was stupid enough to actually think "it doesn't sound that bad". And I was right, it's not as bad as the reviews make it out to be, it's way worse in every respect! Calling this collection "kinda bad" is about on par with saying "Episodes 7, 8, and 9 were just kinda bad". You have no idea the slop that awaits. It's clearly been…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Actually, in its current state, a pretty decent way to play the single-player content. Definitely still could do with some improvements, like the removal of the built in mouse acceleration from the original, but otherwise it functions well enough, and has been easier to play compared to the original releases because I can just turn the game on and play it without messing around with fixes, mods, and third party apps to make it function well on modern hardware, or have it tab out if I move my…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Aspyr did this game dirty back in the day and continues to let the game suffer while they scam you for $35. Both games are the Original Xbox Ports. Control Sensitivity is trash, even on the highest setting. Multiplayer servers have severe lag, even if it's in your region. Get the 2004 Battlefront 2 original game. It's way better then this port. Or, emulate the games.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Aspyr should be ashamed. "I don't understand why this game has so many bad reviews, I haven't had any issues" Try reading.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the original is better, this is rather bloated
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Trash tier remake. Overpromised and underdelivered
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can't find any single thing that this improved over the original games. You can purchase both original games for less than this collection and the original games don't have as many bugs
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Majority of problems have been fixed. Multiplayer is low population but it does work. I have noticed only one bug in singleplayer, the minigun clone's weapon doesnt make sound. Games are essentially untouched but with 4K support. Other than that exactly as I remember, for better or worse. Recommended
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still bad in 2025.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Even after all patches - I could just bear 15 minutes of gameplay. It's probably the worst remake I have ever played. The UI was changed for the worst. You can't even accept the "Terms and Conditions" when you first start the game unless you change the game language to english. The Accept-Button is greyed out otherwise. If I could refund this game I would. Do not buy this - instead buy the originals.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The gameplay is not the issue here. What is an issue is the fact that this simply shouldn't exist. PROS: -Splitscreen multiplayer CONS: -More expensive than buying the games separately???? -Doesn't add anything else -Have to disable steam input for split screen to even work with controllers The only reason I own this is to play galactic conquest with my friends Split screen is already supported on consoles, I should NOT have to buy a whole separate game for more than they cost…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I paid $17 on Eneba, you should too! Now, the game itself if what I needed. split screen galactic conquest WORKS! Skirmishes WORKS! Ai path-finding/difficulty = so so Mods? this game needs Steam workshop I havent tried online, but from a splitscreen standpoint the limitation is 2players versus the previous 4player in the 2005 version. I bought this even though I own the original versions because of the updated resolution, controller support, and better overall functionality .…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Replaying Star Wars Battlefront II gave me a wave of nostalgia and took me back to my childhood. Spending sleepovers at a friend's house and playing their copy on their PS2. You can get a couple hours of enjoyment from both game's campaigns and can play galactic assault. But the online servers are completly dead as of 2026. So you can only expect to play single player stuff. If you're wanting to relive your childhood, grab this game. But only when it's on sale. As it's not worth the full…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I dunno whats with all the hate. I hardly see people on here but everything seems fine when I do. Its the best Star Wars Battlefronts in one place with controller support and working servers.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →MULTIPLAYER IS COMPLETELY DEAD I ASSUME DUE TO ♥♥♥♥♥♥ LAUNCH. Do not purchase if even 1% of the reason for your purchase is to play multiplayer. That being said. I didn't play this at launch, so never experienced what was well-known to be disastrous. Likewise, I have no interest in playing multiplayer. I only wanted the singleplayer campaigns/galactic conquests modes. On my PC, the original games have aged very poorly. Constant crashing, resolution issues, etc. For me as of July…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I do not understand the hate. I understand the price is a bit high. Pick up on a sale pros Improved AI for both games Slight upscale and improved graphics Bigger battles up to 32 players and each team (64 players) Have no problems running game cons Improved AI they are smart and have snappy aim and on some mission almost making it impossible to beat (Yavin 4, 2nd mission taking the plaza and running the bomb. On Courasant the Library objective. 30gbs download. massive for an old…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You are better off buying the originals. I feel robbed as someone who played this as a child
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As of September 2025, this Collection, including two of the best Star Wars games ever made, is “serviceable” enough...if you’re playing locally. Adding split screen (something that wasn’t included in the 2004/2005 PC versions) was the major selling point for me. Now you can play ANY single player mode with someone in the same room, and that includes the whole story campaigns. Also, in BF2: Hero Assault, a mode where you can versus as any Hero or Villain, is available for every map (only ONE map…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i think if you want to roleplay playing with no internet on the ps2 like i did as a kid sure, get it, but not for the price point and as a "remaster" nothing really seems like it was freshened up. disappointing but this late to the party i knew what i was getting into
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the idea of this pack, it is also nice to play the games at a native resolution above 1080p! I would only recommend this on sale or you just need some Battlefront in your life. the issues I am having as it stands are: 1: You cannot change button mapping on zooming? for some odd reason whenever you change the Zoom button it just stops working? how is this happening? 2: 2 player split screen? really? the OG Xbox version had 4 player split screen.... which is odd seeing as this version…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love Star Wars Battlefront but this "Remaster" doesn't improve much. Battlefront II is a major improvement of Battlefront. They are basically the same game but Battlefront II is the what happens if you polish the game. Getting Battlefront with this collection isn't like a bonus. The Classic Collection brings the Xbox exclusive DLC to the main game which is a nice since I've never experienced till now. The menu is from the console versions which is nostalgic for me, is not meant for keyboard…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Recommended for Steam Deck, Not for PC. Inferior or non existent internet experience This should’ve been a slam dunk by Aspyr but by now you know that the nonfunctional internet multiplayer was the main cause of the negative reviews on release. I’ve only played this version on Deck and I still can’t find an online game for either game. So if you’re looking for a good internet experience for classic Battlefront, the original releases are where you should go. Great on Deck and TV I bought this…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This review is based on the single-player experience of the Classic Collection due to the multiplayer being dry and desolate as the sands of Tatooine. Intro The campaigns for both BF1 and BF2 are what I expected them to be, having already played their respective games before this "rerelease." BF2 is generally a better game that builds off its predecessor with faster-paced gameplay, space battles, and a better campaign. With the Classic Collection now available at a 35-dollar price tag, you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As someone who actively chooses to play on this version, I cannot recommend this version if you have any other way to play either of these games. The only reason otherwise to buy it is to ensure Steam Deck compatibility like I stupidly did. PROS: It runs well on Steam Deck out of the box. It has Remote Play so you can play split screen with friends. Useful for playing Galactic Conquest. It has colorblind filters if you need it. Xbox DLC , XL mode and hero assault on every map. Still…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a beautifully nostalgic yet very buggy mess.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i play single player and have no issues
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →buy the old games this is a money grab
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would say if you are looking for that nostalgic feel, this is it. I played bf1 and bf2 as a kid and this is just as I remember it. I tried the bf1 and bf2 classic and it was not nearly as good as this one. Ultra-wide actually works on this game, and aim assist is a thing as well. Not to mention that you don't have to go to community controller layouts just to get the game to work properly. I wouldn't expect to play multiplayer, considering the lobbies were completely empty when I looked. If…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A lot of negative press about this game and general EA bullshitery has resulted in this game getting "overwhelmingly negative." I'm here to say this game deserves positive. Just positive, nothing more. IN ITS CURRENT STATE, this game is relatively bug-free now. Pros: - Two of the best Star Wars games here, as-was, with no changes other than upscaling. - Great resolution cutscenes featuring scenes from the movies. - Tons of fun class options that make you feel like a part of the Star…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Online is dead but its a good splitsreen game and this version has controller support.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Singleplayer was great especially after updates sad it's dead
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's the original games, with a functional UI and out of the box controller support. Includes Original Xbox exclusive DLC. They put hero assault on every single map, which is actually really cool imo. Unfortunately the ONLINE SERVERS ARE DEAD on PC, most likely because people are playing the original individual releases, which do have populated servers. If you want to play this game online, explore console options (Switch version for example has 8-15 people playing on conquest server every…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolute dumpster fire of a game. Couldn't even bother to have proper widescreen support. Didn't even fix bugs that were present in the original game and somehow managed to create new bugs. Don't even get me started on the AI upscaled textures. I couldn't even play the game properly because my keyboard input randomly just stopped working. Absolutely ridiculous.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I encounter a weird bug in SP Rise of the Empire on BF2 on W11, where the game crashes everytime I skip a cutscene. Very annoying. MP is empty and still buggy. It's pretty much abandonware now. Only recommended if you can accept a buggy (at best) modern way of playing SP. Wish it was still supported that the SP bugs were fixed at the very least.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →online deserted would be cool if it wasn't, game seems good to me, even if it did have a rough launch. come back guis
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is years old and still crashes constantly. How a lawsuit didn't happen is beyond me.
