That hasn't happened in a few years, and usually I have a Sophie's Choice slot, but not this year - so KUDOS to the programmers.
neutral · AI labelView post →Without saying Sophie's Choice, fav Meryl Streep film?
neutral · AI labelView post →I would like to think the US Army chose Fortunate Son on purpose but I once heard a car commercial in which a joke was made about the movie Sophie's Choice as if it was a rom com and she was choosing a man to marry so I'm a bit cynical in that and most respects.
neutral · AI labelView post →Watching the latest Nick Knacks and a 1991 street interview segment had an 11 year old girl who, when asked what her favorite movie was, answered "Sophie's Choice and also Little Mermaid." She would've loved Letterboxd.

neutral · AI labelView post →Not enough people talk about how Sophie's Choice is a great movie to have on in the background while you're having sex.
negative · AI labelView post →"Our in-flight movie is Sophie's Choice 2: Choose Harder." "Our in-flight movie is Citizen Kane 2: Tokyo Drift." "Our in-flight movie is Eyes Wide Shut 2: Back In Training."
neutral · AI labelView post →My favorite film performances from the 1980s. Meryl Streep, Zofia "Sophie" Zawistowska , "Sophie's Choice" (directed by Alan J. Pakula). #movies #films #favoriteperformances #merylstreep #alanjpakula #sophieschoice
positive · AI labelView post →My personal pick for favorite Meryl Streep movie as this was the first one I saw of her. Shortly after, I saw the intense Sophie's Choice, Out of Africa, Kramer vs. Kramer, Postcards from the Edge, and the Deer Hunter.
positive · AI labelView post →Do these people think Sophie's Choice was an inspirational movie? How can we not be better than this?
neutral · AI labelView post →"Haunting & disturbing" is the perfect description of this movie. I saw this flick once. Is it good? Yes. Do I wanna see it twice? No! Why? Because it is "Haunting & disturbing". Similar movies are "Sophie's Choice", "The Killing Fields" & "Schindler's List" - all are excellent but traumatizing.
positive · AI labelView post →"Sir, come on out here. We're actually nice people! We aren't fascists. By the way, and this is completely unrelated, have you seen the movie Sophie's Choice?" #Satire
neutral · AI labelView post →Sophie's Choice. No, "Sophie's Choice" isn't my favorite 1980s film (far from it, I can't watch that). I'm saying you're asking me to choose from all of the films that wide-eyed kid me got to see in the popcorn stadium. Can't be done. Typical Gen Xer. 😉
negative · AI labelView post →While I'm sure Avengers Doomsday will be dark for a Marvel movie, with respect, it cannot possibly be one of the darkest -movies- ever made. 12 Years a Slave. The Nightingale. Sophie's Choice. Let's not be ridiculous.
neutral · AI labelView post →'Last night I was between a rock and a hard place if you catch my drift, tonight's film features another gal with a similar problem in Sophie's Choice.'
neutral · AI labelView post →Look around uneasily today (should be simple!) in honor of director, producer and screenwriter Alan J. Pakula. He produced To Kill a Mockingbird, directed Sophie's Choice among other films, and his paranoia trilogy set a standard in 70s cinema. Paranoid and maybe predictive? #moviesky #cinema #film

neutral · AI labelView post →I watched Sophie's Choice a few nights ago. I knew what the choice was but had never seen the film before. Still bouncing around my head. You'd be rattled after it.
positive · AI labelView post →From Andy Serkis's upcoming film adaptation of SOPHIE'S CHOICE:
neutral · AI labelView post →In childhood, I first became aware of Meryl Streep in the film Sophie's Choice (1982), which I wasn't allowed to watch (maybe that's why it stands out) but was much talked about at the time. My next early recollection of her was in Out of Africa (1985), which I also haven't seen. #80s #movies
neutral · AI labelView post →Question 2: Who plays "Sophie" in the 1982 movie "Sophie's Choice"? Jane Fonda Sally Field Sissy Spacek Meryl Streep #scottstrivia
neutral · AI labelView post →I remember the acclaimed yet heartbreaking movie Sophie's Choice... but that was released 42 years ago. 13 year old kids weren't voluntarily watching it. These things must be taught in schools. Even the Germans insist on this.
neutral · AI labelView post →That Sophie's Choice moment of which child to let go is, to me, the heart of the film. The daughter needs him more. His son has to engage the tripods. Let him go to war. So many people complained about the son returning at the end, but it's earned. Ray did the right thing.
neutral · AI labelView post →Throw back review! *one I'm proud of that didn't get many likes* #FilmSky My ★★★½ review of Sophie's Choice on #Letterboxd boxd.it/bTVPxH
positive · AI labelView post →One of her best movies was 'Doubt'. Can't handle Sophie's Choice.
negative · AI labelView post →I saw Sophie's Choice in Westwood Village when my daughter was barely 2 years old. Molly is about to turn 47. That movie haunts me still. Happy Birthday to one of my favorite actors Peter MacNichol. What a fantastic an amazing body of work.Well Met Sir!
positive · AI labelView post →AUTOPLAY: this guy just watched Sophie's Choice? he must be FIENDING for a holocaust movie marathon. let's fire up Schindler's List ME: jesus christ can I at least finish the credits AUTOPLAY: the first six seconds of them, yeah
neutral · AI labelView post →Mine was Sophie's Choice, but not exactly because of the movie. After I'd sobbed uncontrollably in the theater, I found out my date had picked the film because he wanted to see if the adaptation was faithful since he'd read the book. It was our first & only date....
negative · AI labelView post →Show a moment from tv/film that broke your heart Sophie's Choice
neutral · AI labelView post →So your saying that this film is never going to be confused with "Sophie's Choice"?
neutral · AI labelView post →Read William Styron's "Sophie's Choice". Although I've never seen it, the film is famous enough for me to know the 'twist' (or at least late revelation in the novel) to which the title refers. Unlike "We Need to Talk About Kevin" where being aware of this detail 'spoilt' the book to the extent I 1/5
neutral · AI labelView post →It's like the one film all of American media internalized was Sophie's Choice, and they misunderstood the point of the movie and also somehow cast themselves as both Sophie AND the Nazis.
neutral · AI labelView post →Tom Hoben 4/28 Tom stated a mother taking her child with her while she's being deported is just Parenting 101.HAS HE EVER SEEN THE MOVIE SOPHIE'S CHOICE? personally will sleep better at night now this two year old gang member terrorist off the streets. have tax dollars spent helping the mother
neutral · AI labelView post →But he's the canonical nice guy of the film, so having this Twilight Zone Wouldn't It Be Fucked Up If ending just sort of cheapens the rest of the narrative There's no reason why he should make Sophie's Choice on steroids and then be saved, like the movie wanted to be mean for it's own sake
neutral · AI labelView post →People forget Sophie's Choice, but it's a great movie with some great advice.
positive · AI labelView post →That I was forced to pick between The Ruling Class and the Beastie Boys Video Collection is a real Sophie's Choice, a film I left off my list.
neutral · AI labelView post →I find it impossible to say I have a favorite film (or favorite anything). It's like a Sophie's Choice for me. Even for occasions. For Christmas time, I can't say White Christmas is my favorite over It's A Wonderful Life, or Miracle On 34th Street...
neutral · AI labelView post →I fell in Love with her in the movie "Sophie's Choice" what an incredible role that she was amazing at!! One of the best actresses of our time!
neutral · AI labelView post →Sophie's Choice (1982) quality film to be sure -- Meryl Streep + all -- but it's an incredibly rough way to unleash your cortisol
positive · AI labelView post →I have seen Sophie's Choice and this cry baby went through a box of tissues. Hachi, a must see fim. I guarantee you'll love this movie. It's made for you.
positive · AI labelView post →I knew what a Sophie's Choice meant but I knew nothing of the story or movie. Just oh my ..... Sophie's Choice 1982 Peter MacNicol Kevin Kline Meryl Streep
neutral · AI labelView post →He was great in a pretty good movie, but it was a lifetime achievement award. This year was a Sophie's Choice because Sinise is down there too.
neutral · AI labelView post →Add food to a movie title? Obviously the right answer is... Sophie's Choice Of Soup Or Salad
neutral · AI labelView post →Watching a classic film I've not seen every day in 2026. 86. Sophie's Choice (Alan J. Pakula 1982) Streep brings Sophie to vibrant and tragic life, especially during her confession, Kline is all energy, MacNicol is all wide-eyed innocence in a post-Shoah Jules et Jim. 8/10
positive · AI labelView post →Schindler's List Sophie's Choice Life is Beautiful The Notebook. Any movie that makes me ugly cry.
neutral · AI labelView post →Everything Everywhere All At Once is a beautiful movie and I cry every time I watch it. It's so good. I don't know if I have a real answer to this though. My only thoughts would be movies that break you like Schindler's List or Sophie's Choice. Both are great but I can't experience them again.
neutral · AI labelView post →Hela Sverige håller på att bli en ”Sophie's Choice” film på så många plan!
neutral · AI labelView post →Working out cinema schedule and of course all the movies I want to see are at shit awkward times. So the eternal struggle, do I see -The Irish release and support my fellow countrymen -See the movie with Zazie Beets cause I think she's hot? Like Sophie's Choice over here lads
neutral · AI labelView post →What movie death scene is seared into your memory? Sophie's Choice
neutral · AI labelView post →Did Stephen Miller learn these tactics from Sophie's Choice? Perverse. That was not supposed to be the message of that movie. Does Miller not understand what "Never again" means?
neutral · AI labelView post →Made the mistake of explaining what a "Sophie's Choice" was to a room full of women, several of whom are pregnant, none of whom had ever seen the movie/read the book, and I am Today's Top Villain apparently
neutral · AI labelView post →Sophie's Choice was my other one. Or any big tragedy movie, really. ... Life is Beautiful with Big Naturals
neutral · AI labelView post →Yeah, I guess any Holocaust movie is probably a bad call. Sophie's Choice with Big Naturals is uh not in good taste. Though Jojo Rabbit with Big Naturals kinda works.
neutral · AI labelView post →The film of Sophie's Choice was released #OTD in 1982.
neutral · AI labelView post →HA1 is the better film, but HA2 does have Tim Curry, so it's a Sophie's Choice situation, I suppose.
neutral · AI labelView post →Sometimes I wanna watch a movie but I can't pick one. So I decided to go through the AFI top 100 list, and surprisingly, I've already seen 26 of them, including the two I've watched tonight: Citizen Kane & Sophie's Choice.
neutral · AI labelView post →I think possibly your best profile film yet. But then I completely adore her now as much as I did as a kid And all your films are all of such a high quality anyway it's a bit of a Sophie's Choice :)
