Sixteen Candles
With the occasion all but overshadowed by her sister's upcoming wedding, angst-ridden Samantha faces her 16th birthday with typical adolescent dread. Samantha pines for studly older boy Jake, but worries that her chastity will be a turnoff for the popular senior. Meanwhile, she must constantly rebuff the affections of nerdy Ted, who is unfortunately the only boy in school who seems to take an interest in her. From TMDB

In it, I mentioned that the movie had just been re-released by Kino Lorber on 4K UHD---a cause for celebration. Or so I thought. While the movie is largely intact, two minor soundtrack substitutions have apparently been made, which you can…

Written and directed by John Hughes in his directorial debut, it was the first in a string of films Hughes would direct, centering on teenage life. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sixteen_Candles
