Streaming's "shrink the movie the moment the closing credits start" means that most viewers have no idea it's based on a novel. And I, personally, would like it better if they did know.
unlabelledView post →@jordanharper.bsky.social is one of the finest crime writers working today. I cannot tell you how stupefyingly excited I am for this movie. SHE RIDES SHOTGUN is the book that inspired me and challenged me to write BLACKTOP WASTELAND. DONT MISS IT
unlabelledView post →The film adaptation of my first novel, SHE RIDES SHOTGUN, will hit theaters in August, starring Taron Egerton and Ana Sophia Heger. I'm glad more people get to meet Nate and Polly and the bear. Check it out: variety.com/2025/film/ne...

unlabelledView post →As the SHE RIDES SHOTGUN movie rides into theaters tomorrow, I wrote a thing for @letterboxd.social about the many movies that inspired me when I wrote the source novel, including the book's core inspiration, the immortal SHOGUN ASSASSIN. Check it out:
unlabelledView post →I have no idea why Lionsgate isn't hyping the hell out of SHE RIDES SHOTGUN, a movie I absolutely love with another stellar performance by Taron Egerton and a fantastic newcomer in Ana Sophia Heger. Make a point to see this one!! Full review live at TFM. thefilmmaven.substack.com/p/she-rides-...
unlabelledView post →excited to see the movie but would also like to echo Jordan's suggestion that everyone "get hep in advance." I love She Rides Shotgun, a novel once described to me as "Paper Moon with a body count" - could not recommend it more.
unlabelledView post →Not only is She Rides Shotgun a terrific novel, but the film version is one of the best crime films I've seen this year, with an outstanding performance by Ana Sophia Heger as Polly. You can find it on Prime.

unlabelledView post →Watched She Rides Shotgun. I thought it was going to be a silly action movie. Turns out it was an excellent crime thriller. Gorgeous locations, taut directing and editing, perfect music, fantastic acting from both Taron Egerton and his movie daughter Ana Sophia Heger.
unlabelledView post →Did you know that the movie SHE RIDES SHOTGUN was based on a novel called SHE RIDES SHOTGUN and you can read that novel whether you liked the movie or not. Personally, I liked the movie - but I loved the novel. It's full of those good words and phrases and punctuationalism that good writers do

The film is now out in theaters; it's different than the book but artfully shot & Ana Sophia Heger is phenomenal

unlabelledView post →SHE RIDES SHOTGUN rattles with intensity & Egerton & especially Ana Sophia Heger give stunning central performances. The film runs a straighter line than the book, a little more black&white in storytelling, but preserves a brutal poetry. Tantalizing to think of opportunity for more film of its kind.

unlabelledView post →I really loved the film version of SHE RIDES SHOTGUN, and you should totally go see it, but we all know the book is always better. Here the book is not only one of the most essential crime novels of the 21st century, it’s also on sale for less than two bucks. www.amazon.com/dp/B00OG9IX0K/
unlabelledView post →I'm glad to hear how much you liked it. Now I really want to see it! That one review from Variety I read was very enthusiastic about how great She Rides Shotgun is. He loved Taron Egerton and the young girl who plays his daughter in the movie.
unlabelledView post →"She Rides Shotgun" is top-tier crime cinema: gritty, gripping, with heart. Egerton proves again he’s among the finest actors of his generation. Heger's performance ranks among the best by a young actor. @jordanharper.bsky.social soon to rank with Lehane in novel to film adaptation.
unlabelledView post →@moondogrick.bsky.social @jdiggs67.bsky.social Just wondering what you guys know about a movie called She Rides Shotgun, starring Taron Egerton. I was reading a glowing review written by Joe Leydon at Variety. If you've seen it or know more about it, I'd love to get your thoughts.

unlabelledView post →. @jordanharper.bsky.social is a huge name in fiction right now thanks to SHE RIDES SHOTGUN, both novel and movie. But don’t sleep on his 2023 thriller EVERYBODY KNOWS. It’s searing.
unlabelledView post →She Rides Shotgun might be my favorite movie of the year?
unlabelledView post →movies like She Rides Shotgun and Freaky Tales, it sure does look like Lionsgate is in dire straits. I'm sure people will turn out in droves for Last Witch Hunter 2, though. People are tired of the MCU, but that "beloved" Vin Diesel 2015 film, that's totally still viable.
unlabelledView post →I saw She Rides Shotgun tonight and it’s great! It’s a modern Lone Wolf and Cub movie where New Mexico is the demon path in Hell and a neo-Nazi gang replaces the Yagyū clan. John Carroll Lynch is impressively menacing as the bad guy and there’s a shootout/car chase set to an Underworld song.

unlabelledView post →Now THIS I love. I absolutely LOVE She Rides Shotgun looks like it's shot on beautiful 16mm film. It feels like a movie. It feels important. If not, they did an amazing job replicating the feel. Yes, it's all about the way the film is shot. Why do you ask? The picture? That's just a bonus. 😁
unlabelledView post →As a Jordan Harper fan, I was almost shocked that my local library had the She Rides Shotgun DVD just waiting for me! Really loved the movie, now I"ve got to read the book!
unlabelledView post →I liked The Beekeeper...and I'm not always a fan of Jason Statham movies...but I read a little about Shelter and I think I'd like it. Changing subject...you know, the only thing that bummed me out a bit in She Rides Shotgun was the ending...even though I knew it was inevitable. Still a good movie.
