Shaun of the Dead & Slither are the best horror comedies. 12. Prince of Darkness is Carpenter's most underrated movie.

unlabelledView post →Important movie opinion: Both Shaun of the Dead and Get Out are nearly perfect movies, BUT their follow-ups (Hot Fuzz and Us) are more interesting and fun to rewatch. Thank you no feedback required as the take is correct

unlabelledView post →CORNETTO TRILOGY POWER RANKING 1. THE WORLD’S END: Wright’s most sophisticated blend of pastiche and real, aching human feeling. 2. HOT FUZZ: Possibly the funniest film of its decade. 3. SHAUN OF THE DEAD: Pure delight, bursting with promise. There are no losers in this list.
unlabelledView post →i just watched Shaun of the Dead for first time in like a decade that was the most i've laughed at a movie in a hot minute 😂 now let's go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for this all to blow over 🍻

unlabelledView post →There's reasons why movies like "Ghostbusters," "Shaun of the Dead," "Zombieland" and "Cabin in the Woods" work as horror-comedies, but none of the Scary Movies have--and it all comes down to respect for the genre and the audience. Scary Movie wants to laugh at horror fans, not with us.

unlabelledView post →As a non-movie-ranker, I endorse this list. Hot Fuzz = the Cornetto film I rewatch the most, but The World's End = the most achieved & ambitious of the three. & Shaun of the Dead is a drop-dead (ha) perfect breakthrough--not his true debut, as he had already made the low-budget A Fistful of Fingers.
unlabelledView post →Numerous studios passed until, after 18 months, Working Title Films came on board. By this time, the film was called Shaun of the Dead and it was greenlit with a £4m budget. According to Wright, Pegg hasn’t let him pay back the money he borrowed from him in those months. 5/38

unlabelledView post →We just (illegally) watched GOOD LUCK HAVE FUN DON'T DIE, easily the best film of the year ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Hilarious, shocking, satirical, anti-AI adventure with an awesome cast, including some British faces you don't expect to see. Black Mirror vs Terminator vs Shaun of the Dead. It's on streaming soon.
unlabelledView post →Now that it's no longer a spoiler: "She thinks I'm a fascist? I don't even control the railroads." is the single-best joke from a movie in years. Maybe since Shaun of the Dead.
unlabelledView post →Picking a random film from my collection to show off for no real reason! Day #192 "Shaun of the Dead" (Edgar Wright/2004) The greatest rom-com with zombies ever to grace the screen. When Wright and Pegg wrote screenplays together, they produced gold. Here it is in a 4K set of The Cornetto Trilogy!
unlabelledView post →I gifted my parents the Cornetto trilogy for Christmas a few years ago, and while I'm not sure they cared much for Shaun of the Dead or World's End, they loved Hot Fuzz. It is the best comedy ever (only because The Big Lebowski is a film noir, not a comedy).
unlabelledView post →Edgar Wright's SHAUN OF THE DEAD is an incredibly prescient film about toxic masculinity and arrested development, but because it's funny no one noticed.
unlabelledView post →I just watched Shaun of the Dead for the first time in twentyish years. It’s extremely solid. The bleakest (and most realistic) part is how nothing about the world changes at the end. Very cute workhorse of a zombie movie. 🎥
unlabelledView post →"My, my, here come the Fuzz." Timothy Dalton as supermarket manager Simon Skinner in the 2007 comedy film Hot Fuzz. What happens to this character at the end of the film always has me in stitches. As much as I like Shaun of the Dead I think Hot Fuzz is on a par with it. Post-It Note art.

His hugely enjoyable collaborations with Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright, Shaun of the Dead and The World’s End, had a perfect command of comedy horror. The tone here feels…
