unlabelledView post →This is neat that I'd not seen before: the cover for the Super Famicom release of Beam Software's Shadowrun game, titled 'Shadowrun USA' here on the box. The artwork feels like it might be from a sourcebook, but I can't place which one off the top of my head.
unlabelledView post →Shadowrun is a unique phenomenon in the world of games. It's not the biggest game, but almost everyone’s heard of it — though what they’ve heard might not be complimentary. What's the story there? Why does it have the reputation it does?
unlabelledView post →Three flavours of 16-bit Shadowrun: Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, and Mega CD. As cool and niche as the Japanese-exclusive SR game is with its anime vibes (and after muddling through a lot of it with translation aids), it's sadly not as much fun to play as the previous two.
unlabelledView post →Just as a follow-up on my last post, I've just noticed the Shadowrun (Returns) Trilogy games are on heavy sale right on GOG. Absolutely worth picking up, with Dragonfall worth the price of admission alone.
unlabelledView post →watched more Demonschool and part of the structure to the game is actually reminding me of Shadowrun: Dragonfall. dragonfall's story and its world exploration is very, very focused. you only have a few places you can go to, and story progression - and more importantly, pacing - is tied to missions.
unlabelledView post →oh yeah man, I'm embarrassed to say i didn't really encounter the system or game at all until 2077, I was raised on Shadowrun which i now understand was hugely influenced / somewhat ripping off y'all. at any rate, I'm a huge fan mow
unlabelledView post →Discard your preconceived notions… The Sixth World opened its doors to Super Famicom in 1994, a year after the USA and EUR release of Beam Software more point-and-click-ey Shadowrun game. A loose adaptation of the SR novel, Never Deal with a Dragon.
unlabelledView post →RPG Author: In my game I invented Shadowrun as a cautionary tale Tech Company: At long last, we have created Shadowrunners from the classic cyberfantasy RPG Shadowrun
unlabelledView post →i think you shouldn’t GM a game like Shadowrun if you believe something far more tame than its world lore is impossible
unlabelledView post →Group of pals who "Shadowrun" (basically play an in-game LARP version of Shadowrun in the universe of Shadowrun) are recruited by a REAL crime boss to do a Shadowrun...for REAL?! B-but they're just a diverse team of suspiciously hot nerds with extremely technical skills!
unlabelledView post →Lets look at Shadowrun on SNES! Link: almagaming.wolfpack.xyz/gameblogP14.... This was the first game to release based on the tabletop game with a focus on story rather then the complex system it was known for. Can it still hold up as a fantastic game though? Find out!
unlabelledView post →She found a fren! Trust & Nym from a Shadowrun game😊 #art
unlabelledView post →Look, Shadowrun has always been a trash panda of a game to run, but the old lore and setting was goddamn **fantastic**. On vacation, hit this gaming store in Buffalo and FREAKED OUT when I found all these old lore books for cheap.
unlabelledView post →Download or Die - So threatens this ad for Super Nintendo Shadowrun from GameFan in October 1993. It's a pretty awesome ad and piece of artwork that captures 90s Shadowrun vibes. And not a bad little Shadowrun game. I do prefer the Sega Genesis SR game but there's a lot to like about the SNES one.
unlabelledView post →From what I've read, Shadowrun wasn't released in Japan until 1994, which clues me into as to why a Shadowrun game was released very late for Mega CD with a very similar style to that which I've seen in the SNE release manuals and this module.
unlabelledView post →I feel it's important to point out that this looks amazing in screenshots but in truth is a bad Shadowrun game, and a distinctly poor '90s RPG too. You're not missing anything here.
unlabelledView post →I am playing Shadowrun (the video game) and living out my fantasy of being a cyberpunk orc merc / detective And also this is research for an OC
unlabelledView post →Spent the day thinking about porn game architecture and accidentally reinvented Shadowrun. Here's some old art. #comic
unlabelledView post →#Shadowrun is a problematic fave for a reason, and this article from earlier this year dug into that. #TTRPG pocgamer.com/archives/2930
unlabelledView post →Shadowrun is a complicated & problematic at times game/setting. But there's nothing that scratches the itch that shadowrun does.
unlabelledView post →Finished Shadowrun: Dragonfall. Terrific game. Made within obvious budget constraints, it nonetheless spins a terrific yarn that makes the most of its politically unstable future-Berlin setting and the fantasy-meets-cyberpunk texture of the Shadowrun world.
unlabelledView post →So turns out Shadowrun has a rules-lite version of its game called Shadowrun: Anarchy. Anyone tried it? I fucking love the setting of Shadowrun but...I don't like the act of PLAYING Shadowrun? 5E might be my least favourite experience with a game system I've played from a major TTRPG release.
unlabelledView post →The shadows come alive in this 1993 ad for Shadowrun, an action RPG for the SNES by Beam Software Based on FASA's TTRPG, the adventure takes players to Seattle in the year 2050 as a dystopian future grapples with megacorporate empires amidst the return of magic and beings of legend such as dragons.
unlabelledView post →Playing the Shadowrun card game with my friend Martin.
unlabelledView post →As of this month, it is 400 months (⅓ of a century!) since the release of Shadowrun on the Super NES. VGMaps.com: The Video Game Atlas has been around for 292 months (24⅓ years) and we STILL don't have any screenshot maps of Shadowrun.
unlabelledView post →Fuck it, I'm adding a "K.Tightpussy" as an NPC in my next Shadowrun game. A mysterious figure who posts DIY biohacks on Shadowland.

unlabelledView post →I remember running a Shadowrun game where I had an old network connection to the AI mainframe the players had to break into be located in a broom closet because they forgot to remove it after a remodel
unlabelledView post →You'd think there would have been a DOS Shadowrun game, especially given how much of the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis Shadowrun game was a CRPG style-sandbox already. Quite curious if one was ever optioned.
unlabelledView post →finding out that Microsoft killed a Shadowrun game by Obsidian makes me wanna put my head through a window
unlabelledView post →#gamedev Transferring this from a 2023 thread on Twitter (x.com/ubahs1337/st...) Shadowrun 2007: Xbox 360 and Windows Vista Some small developer stories...
unlabelledView post →I liked it better when words like neofeudalism and megacorps meant I was playing in a game of Shadowrun instead of existing on a standard Tuesday.
unlabelledView post →Voyager I should be a totem of resilience in some urban fantasy game like Shadowrun.
unlabelledView post →Have played some more Shadowrun Returns. It's great. It makes me want to read and play Shadowrun. Yes, I realise this is almost certainly a mistake. For starters, the video game has far fewer D6s than I remember and definitely not so many munchkins...
unlabelledView post →finished Shadowrun Dragonfall, forgot how nice it was to play a game with a lot of words in it
unlabelledView post →Shadowrun is a fantasy game about having friends and being able to afford health insurance
unlabelledView post →My party from that Cyberpunk D&D game. It's like Shadowrun, but more stupid and easier to run. #dndart #dndcharacter
unlabelledView post →#Shadowrun has been a problematic fave of mine since the 90s, and if proof that a setting can keep a game alive long after its system(s) have hit their best by dates. So in prep for more coverage of its world, I got some eyes on the game. #TTRPG pocgamer.com/archives/2805
unlabelledView post →I would play a GTA style game if it were like sci-fantasy bullshit. Shadowrun type trash
unlabelledView post →Shadowrun: Dragonfall re-imagined as a low resolution point & click adventure game.
unlabelledView post →I love this sprite of the ogre from the SNES Shadowrun game so much
unlabelledView post →I'm so sorry Shadowrun for insulting your game mechanics. There is a greater evil by the title F.A.T.A.L F.A.T.A.L is so ass
unlabelledView post →One of my hotter takes is Shadowrun would benefit immensely from being a class-based game, among other things
unlabelledView post →So today I learned that Shadowrun returns is available on ps5 game. So....i am playing it. Nostalgia is a drug.
unlabelledView post →Shadowrun should get its own Edgerunners style anime but lean super into the 90’s anime aesthetic from the Sega CD game.
unlabelledView post →When I said I wanted to play more Shadowrun, I meant the table top role playing game, not everyday life.
unlabelledView post →today's Shadowrun game
unlabelledView post →...does anyone remember the 1st edition cover of the game Shadowrun null perspiration if you don't, chummer, it was 1989
unlabelledView post →A lovely piece that @sigmand.bsky.social made for me! A character I'm playing in a Wednesday Shadowrun game! Her name is Viscera! She's a coke snorting, dangerously augmented kobold! Making snuff BTLs, acquiring small time gangs.. She's a menace! [ #art | #kobold | #ttrpg | #shadowrun ]
unlabelledView post →Shadowrun: Through the Decades (A Shadowrun Anthology) is available now from Catalyst Game Labs Get it here: tinyurl.com/4fvfxyh The year 2084 may be decades away for us, but in the Sixth World, it’s now. However, the decades in between are filled with wild events. #ttrpgs
unlabelledView post →I actually have played in a game where we ported some stuff from D&D 3.5 to Shadowrun 2e, because we were doing interuniversal shenanigans and Shadowrun can represent D&D better than the other way around.
unlabelledView post →If you've never played it, I highly recommend Shadowrun: Dragonfall and Shadowrun: Hong Kong you can also play Shadowrun Returns but its very much more of a proof of concept then a good game. But I'd still play it.
unlabelledView post →Inspiration: Shadowrun (snes) ost - Tenth Street www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGa6... Been playing this game alot, lately. Always loved Jake Armitage as a character, so I was glad to see him in Shadowrun Returns. My cosplay of the character. #secondlife #sl #furry #shadowrun #cyberpunk

unlabelledView post →TTRPG about me First game: Star Frontiers Latest game: RQG Longest game: Shadowrun Favorite game: FATE Favorite mechanics: FATE Favorite setting: RQG/Mage the Ascension Favorite art: Planescape/RQG
unlabelledView post →Watching the kid play BG3 and accidentally calling Shadowheart "Shadowrun" every time. It's driving him nuts. "What even is Shadowrun?" "I'm going to talk to Shadowrun...I mean Shadowheart! Now I'm doing it!" I have played 250 hours of this game, I don't know why I'm doing this. It's very funny.
unlabelledView post →the Resplendent quetzal a stunning bird native to Central and Southern Mexico, and very likely part of the basis of the mythological Quetzalcoatl. One of the many reasons why if @catalystgamelabs.bsky.social resurrects the ShadowRun video game franchise, I will lobby for ShadowRun: Tenochtitlan.
unlabelledView post →Discovered new PC game: Cyber Knights Flashpoint, kinda cyberpunk X-Com, slightly reminiscent of the Shadowrun PC games Missions are all heists of some sort, with an emphasis on balancing stealth vs combat, and hacking that integrates really well with core gameplay. Recommended. Could be a TTRPG.
