It's not worth it, an overall lackluster, underwhelming, tedious and boring experience, save your sanity for something else. Great job on bringing everything else up to snuff and modernizing outdated features. A good way of playing classic versions of TFE/TSE on modern hardware, really missed those gravity gameplay bits in HD versions.

And yes, I had to beat the game over 500 times for the achievements ☠️ in HD☠️ on Remaster, on normal☠️ 10/10 It would be more fun with friends :,v ⣿⡿⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠹⣿⣿⣿⣿ ⣿⠃⠀⠀⠀⠀⢀⠀⠀⠀⠀⣄⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⢻⣿⣿⣿ ⡏⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠸⡀⠀⠀⠀⣟⣣⡀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⡎⣿⣿⣿ ⡇⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠿⣷⠀⠀⠀⢟⠯⠉⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⡇⣿⣿⣿ ⡇⠀⠀⠀⠀⢠⠀⠁⢀⠀⠀⣯⣞⣄⣐⣳⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⢇⣿⣿⣿ ⣇⠇⠀⠀⠀⡴⢶⣾⣿⣆⠀⢹⣿⣿⣿⣿⠀⠀⠀⠀⣨⣾⣿⣿⣿ ⣿⡄⡀⠀⠀⣿⣿⣿⣿⣮⣷⣄⢽⣿⣿⡟⠀⠀⠀⣰⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿ ⣿⡇⣦⠀⡆⣮⣻⡿⣟⣽⣞⣿⣷⣿⣿⠝⠀⠀⠀⠘⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿ ⣿⣷⡽⣰⡧⢛⣯⡾⠆⠿⣿⣿⡿⢟⣵⠀⠀⠀⠠⣼⣿⣿⣿⣿⣿…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For better experience, install this trash only for the [url=github.com/SamClassicPatch/SuperProject/wiki]Classics Patch content mounting. Why not just play Revolution? - Quicksaving functionality takes 10 times longer - Multiplayer keeps kicking for desync reasons as soon as you join a server. - Weird weapon functionality changes - Settings don't save whenever they feel like it Unconvincing? Play and compare classics patched original games to this ♥♥♥♥, see for yourself.

All of the enemies from Serious Sam 1 appear in Serious Sam Classics: Revolution, along with a few unique variations that have different attacks. Several enemies cut from The First Encounter have also been coded into the game as functioning enemies so they can be spawned by mapmakers. Played this on my Lenovo P15…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best Serious Sam after Serious Sam 2! You get First and Second Encounter (SS1) in one version, and it works perfect, no bugs, better graphic (textures remain same as in original but better resolution) and it is cheap. Tested on Linux Mint, i finish first encounter in 13h and now will play second encounter.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not only do you get a remaster of first two games along with a new chapter, but you also get original versions of first two games. Even a secret weapon would help a lot.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is the only way to play the classic versions of serious sam on steam, you get them for free [tfe and tse] among with a new campaign exclusive to serious sam evolution called bright island, among that, a bunch of new extra content has been added, new weapons, new enemies, and more, also introducing steam workshop support, overall this is probably one of the best serious sam games ive ever seen, i heavily reccomend this
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Must-Play for Serious Shooter Fans Serious Sam Classics: Revolution is a unified Steam hub that bridges The First Encounter and The Second Encounter into one seamless, chaotic package. If you think you are good at FPS games but have somehow never played Serious Sam, you owe it to yourself to test your mettle here. The main novelty of this package is Bright Island, an exclusive 8-level bonus campaign. Unfortunately, it doesn't quite live up to the legacy of the main games. It feels largely…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is fine for the first hour or so but it gets monotonous real quick. Navigating the temples in the first couple maps with relatively thoughtful enemy placement, spawns and interesting level design with sneaky secrets was the highlight of the game for me but it went downhill fast from there. At some point it gets really tiring having the game spawn 100 enemies on you every 10 steps, sometimes behind or on top of you, generally outside of your FOV so they can get cheap shots at you. When you…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good old Serious Sam, this time with a third campaign Bright Island. At some points this one is better than the HD remasters. The "gravity-flip" mechanic is intact while it's totally absent in HD version. The Bright Island campaign is good, it had new weapons, enemies, and of course, levels (though not as good as the original levels). Recommended for returning Sam fans.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →“Serious Sam Classics Revolution” is a port to modern systems of the legendary first two games of the series. The developers have kept both first-person shooters as they were, although including various bugfixes and applying the last engine updates to both titles in their state before the (rather mediocre) HD remaster. In my opinion, “Serious Sam – The First Encounter” and “The Second Encounter” up until today are the best of the franchise. They have a simple game concept of fighting off…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best games ever made. Can't recommend it enough. A once a year playthrough is a must.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →if your wondering if its worth it to get revolution over the originals, revolution also gives you the original games so you don't have to pay twice. Revolution just gives you extra stuff.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Revolution combines The First Encounter and The Second Encounter into one package and adds the Bright Island campaign on top. However, one thing that sets Revolution apart from the others is its development history. The game originally started as a project by a fan team called Alligator Pit, made up of Serious Sam fans. However, the project was put on hold for a while during development. Later, Croteam took over the project, completed the development, and prepared the game for release. If you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Serious Sam Fusion is pretty much the same thing but better
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Co-op barely works. Every few minutes, desync causes my friend to shoot walls or be invisible. If the game kicks me out of co-op, trying to rejoin freezes the entire game. Only play this if you are more patient than Jesus.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just play the originals (or HD if you need the graphics). The Bright Island feels like any fan map pack with some modded enemies, not an official third campaign. It looks epic but it is slow and tedious.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's 2026, this one does not start. May be I'll update my review if Croteam fix it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Play the original Classic releases with Classic Patch mod, unless you really want to try the new content. Classic's graphics look generally better. In Revolution draw distance is even more crumpled by FOV and aspect ratio compared to Classic, and some shadows and textures are not rendered properly. Some players report worse performace and added lag in Revolution.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is the most addictive serious sam game i ever played, the fact that already has the 2 classics encounters and a extra, the bright island, the achievements are also very cool and some of them are hard to obtain, but it will be cool if they add a harder achievement to get and i already have a name and a description for it: He´s not kidding: Beat the first level of the Second Encounter with Only the Knife in Mental Difficulty and with no Saves or Loads. (i think i passed the limit of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Collection of the first and second encounter in the classic version. The only reason to play this over the HD versions would be the exclusive campaign Bright Island. For a hardcore fan of the series it's probably worth it, but otherwise I don't think it is as the new campaign isn't that good, it's just ok. Sometimes even a bit too hard. Also very annoying in this version is that loading a save (including "quickloading") takes way too much time, I don't think that is the case in the HD…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →🧐 Overview: Serious Sam Classics: Revolution is a fast-paced first-person shooter that brings together several of the early Serious Sam titles in one collection. Known for its intense action, hordes of enemies, and over-the-top weaponry, this game focuses on pure, arcade-style shooting fun with a retro vibe. It’s great for fans of classic FPS game-play and those who enjoy chaotic, adrenaline-fueled battles. Pros: ✅ Classic arcade-style shooter with nonstop action ✅ Large waves of diverse…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love it or hate it, Serious Sam is serious history. Croteam was the first developer to combine first-person shooter mechanics with massive horde gameplay, lead by a wise-cracking main character similar to Duke Nukem at a time when the genre had more or less stagnated into vent crawling or crate smashing. This is a game that does not take itself... ahem... seriously. But the combat is anything but laid back. Nobody had ever done this kind of thing before, not with maps this large, or with enemy…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Three campaigns of old-school FPS. No fluff, just carnage.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i am losing my mind! when there are NO enemies in the area i somehow still manage to hear a damn kamikaze and when i try to tell other people they call me crazy BUT IM NOT ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ CRAZY. serious/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →golden classic. quake but fun. doom but funny. duke nuke nukem but good. one of the first games I ever played and I stil come back to mow down the hordes of mentals army. 11/10 timeless classic.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →something feels wrong compared to the classic versions
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got it around 2014 or 2015 for free. Decided to play through both Encounters only this year lmao It crashed several times on me during loading (been playing windowed borderless, might be an issue). It was slow to load. Unique to Revolution weapons (two of these are bound to button 9 by default) are a complete joke, and you don't get much ammo if you are playing First and Second Encounters. MKII-B Minelayer is too slow to activate and is not worth it in such active game; DF-ST-005…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A classic. Shame the original devs are all gone and the series has turned into a bad parody of itself
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is peak i really like the gunplay and the gameplay is fast paced and really fun
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Fan-Made DLC is a chore and has many broken parts where if you die while on a moving platform you break the entire level. Otherwise a decent collection.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Now that's some serious firepower...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →легендарная игра
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →2 of the best shooters of all time. Workshop support. Modern settings, controller options. Plays well on steamdeck.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great, easy way to play the whole Serious Sam 1 experience with some modern enhancements. It includes a new episode, which sadly is just ok at best (it really lacks inspiration and the polish the main games have). The survival maps are a mixed bag, some are plain boring and some are creative and fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Doesnt even work, crashes on startup. How ridiculous.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →hahah minigun go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love these games. The HD remakes are cool, but I always get back to the classics for some reason. They are just brainless fun and there are so many secrets to discover.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The comedy work, largely thanks to voice acting. Guns are a bit mediocre (especially so in the First Encounter, SE adds several that answer most issues). The music is excellent, and skies are still as impressive as they would be back in the day. Enemy design is largely fine, but encounter design is very much not (especially so in the First Encounter, where half the enemies are ambush spawns). Due to this approach to encounter design, it is best to play the game on easier difficulty first,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this version of the game is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ retarded because of the glitches and ♥♥♥♥ you should only buy this to play the original exe files not this modern port ♥♥♥♥ of an excuse
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game will crash on modern system. Get the HD remakes instead.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Constantly crashes after dying i dunno why but still fun game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Buggy as hell, but good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good fun when u have had a bad day
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fine central hub to keep all classic Serious Sam games in one place without switching between titles.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Genuinely feels like the game was made just to do the things Doom and Quake couldn't: fancy lighting, large open environments, bump maps, specular highlights, etc. It's a graphics engine tech demo where gameplay comes third. It's a slog through levels that were meant to look good, not play good.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ugh Zan III is genuinely the worst final boss I've ever encountered in a game. The hoop mechanic inside the pyramid is genuinely stupid as ♥♥♥♥. S h i t from an unwiped a s s
