unlabelledView post →Story time: How unclear UI "tricked" players into having gay sex (and they weren't happy about it) In Saints Row IV we added a tongue-in-cheek companion romance system. When it was first hooked up in game the option in the conversation wheel was labeled 'Proposition'

Doesnt matter Is the game fun? Doesnt matter Does the game make you use the epic games bloatware client now? Yes, hence the negative review. If you wanna re-play this game today, use the steam beta branches and pick an older version to avoid this BS, do not validate this kind of behavior by buying new copies.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Right-click the game in your Steam Library. Go to Properties > Game Versions & Betas and select "sriv_legacy". This is pretty much mandatory in order for the game to be playable, since Epic Games decided to screw up the latest default version and install some of their crappy software onto your system without your consent when you launch the default version. You know, cause we didn't hate Epic Games enough already. This step is also necessary in order to play a lot of SRIV mods.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WARNING: After the most recent update, this game that I bought ON STEAM years ago, PAUSES my game during a single player campaign to ask me to link my Epic account. The embedded Epic update is FORCE PAUSING me in the middle of a SINGLE PLAYER game to make me link my accounts... I didn't even buy this from Epic. This is why Steam will always be better than Epic launcher.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Years after release, the game now requires the Epic launcher for a title that isn't even theirs. It installs at launch without asking your permission. How about we don't extend the 3rd party bloatware issue (with a launcher that launches a launcher to launch the game) to a 12-year-old game?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Epic now downloads resources on to your computer (Without permissions) when you install this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Epic killed this game. Cant play it without getting a popup every 5 sec asking me to sign in with an epic account.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Back when Saints Row IV was a thing, I paused my game to use the bathroom. When I come back, my then 5yo. daughter had the controller. She made my character run up to every house & punch the front door, so she could say "TRICK OR TREAT". I grabbed a drink & watched for a while. Best SR4 experience.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dear, Deep Silver Volition developers. Please, I beg you, fix online co-op. My friend and I were trying to play and enjoy this wonderful game, but it keeps crashing. We are very upset. I hope you notice this message, somehow.

Right-click Notepad → Run as administrator. If you skip this, you won’t be able to save the file. In Notepad: File → Open. At the bottom of the Open window, change the file type from “Text Documents (.txt)” to **All Files (.*)**. Go to this folder:C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc Open the file named hosts (no extension). Scroll to the bottom and add these two…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played it through about ten years ago, didn't like it as much as Saints Row 3 but had some fun. Wanted to play it again, after a lot of troubleshooting and fixes I managed to get the random crashes reasonably under control, but the final mission is a crashfest and after two days of trying and retrying I finally gave up and uninstalled. Like a lot of games leaning on pop culture references it hasn't aged well, and the combination of repetitive puzzles and very grindy kill 100 enemies…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Many people say that the series died with 2/3 but I think this is over hated. Mindless dumb funny games are so hard to come across now
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still think Tears of the Kingdom has some of the most satisfying world traversal in any open world game Only thing that might top it is Saints Row IV just because you're blasting around being hilarious sociopath Neo
unlabelledView post →Saints Row IV has aged worse than any game in the series and it’s extremely darkly funny that when they made it they were clearly like “we want to make this game’s themes more clearly just for fun. So we made it about an absurdly flagrant gangster somehow becoming President and dooming everyone”
unlabelledView post →Saints Row IV should have been a DLC for the third game rather than a standalone sequel. While I have a nostalgic soft spot for the soundtrack and the dubstep guns that I absolutely loved as a kid, the rest of the experience falls flat. The introduction of superhero powers completely ruins the game's balance, making vehicles and customization pointless, while the recycled map feels lazy and uninspired. It’s a repetitive, identity-clashing mess that lacks the charm of the earlier entries,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Liked this game, enjoyed it even with the crashing. Owned it on ps3, 360, and ps4. Somehow the PC port is the most unstable, it crashes way more often. What I really hate now though if I want to play this I have to download the ♥♥♥♥♥ ass epic launcher and get forced into the Re-Elected edition when I didn't ask for it. Game is fun and does have great moments but you'll never see them with the PC port. ♥♥♥♥ Epic and Steam for forcing the launcher followed by these pc port issues that shouldn't…

unlabelledView post →16. Saints Row IV I debated the 3rd game or the 4th because both are excellent and very, very, very, very different. I love the writing on these two games. I love Laura Bailey voicing my gang boss, and they're so much fun. But I'm picking SR4 because it is best video game adaptation of The Matrix.
unlabelledView post →Hell yeah. I know there is a strict divide between people who think everything after Saints Row 2 was an abonimation, but I enjoyed the even-more-over-the-top style and the clownish behaviour of the boss. Not taking things seriously, that's me. On the other hand, I understand why some people prefer Saints Row 2. But if you can get behind a game based on the premise "Aliens put you into the Matrix after you, a gang boss, became president of the United States by manually destroying a nuclear…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →We downloaded SAINTS ROW IV when we got our PS5 and I swear that between that game, SKYRIM, and KATAMARI I don’t really need any other games. SR IV is pure OP nonsense. They just hand the player a short and easy path to godhood and say “Have fun.”
unlabelledView post →1. This is just empty NFT promises all over again. 2. I would only be interested if I could bring the Dubstep Gun from SAINTS ROW IV into every game I play from this point forward.

unlabelledView post →My eternal video game grudge against volition for not getting back like three fourths of the female boss voice cast for Saints Row IV But hey Nolan North, memez
unlabelledView post →This game is like gamer fast food. You know it isn't good for you but it is pretty easy to get down and into it. In this Saints Row the world is destroyed by aliens and the whole game plays out in a deep dive simulation. The gameplay is kinda fun and there is some nice little throw back missions to missions in Saints Row 2. I'm not going to recommend it above Saints Row 2 but weirdly enough I do think it is a slightly better game than Saints Row 3.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is alright but they're now added a requirement quite far after launch for 3rd party software to be installed for the game to played.

PROS: ➕Humor and pop culture references ➕superpowers are fun ➕Main missions offer some creative alternative gameplay elements, i.e side-scrolling beat’em ups CONS: ➖Less character creation options than SR3 ➖Animations are clunky, especially with all the agility that super powers give you ➖So many bugs ➖Story is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Saints Row IV is probably the best open-world superhero game we’ve ever gotten. You may not have a massive list of superpowers, but the ones you do have are more than enough. From super speed to telekinesis, everything makes you feel completely overpowered — and that’s the point. The game doesn’t try to balance you. It lets you break it, and that’s where the fun is. As expected from a Saints Row title, the humor is completely over-the-top. The missions are ridiculous, the dialogue is…

unlabelledView post →I really love this game but the crashes are so annoying, if you have a console it's better to get it on it rather than on PC. Edit: and if you are playing this in coop, this game is filled with desync that causes disconnections and replaying the mission again everytime that happens. Edit 2: I just finished the game and the DLC missions yesterday and it seems like if you are playing in coop as well there will be progression bug in map where despite you have collected all collectibles and done…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Epic ruined the stability of multiplayer altogether and even on a completely wired LAN connection (over Online mode, even on wired you will NEVER get any games showing under LAN) and so I can't recommend this to anyone who would remotely want a fun multiplayer experience. That being said the game is fun but has been crippled by third party slopware forced on every player.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a 10/10 experience. I recommend it to players who like open world sandbox games as it is fun and as hilarious moments in it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The only reason for the negative review is how often the game crashes due to old online services they have not removed from the PC version. I think there's a work around but honestly couldn't be bothered with the faff.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Before the epic update, there really was no issues, but now sadly i have to give a negative. The game decides to have a stroke one or one and a half hour of play time, it will either crash and then hard crash my pc, or the audio will die. No matter how many fixes, it remains the same. I am dissapointed EDIT: so after trying to play the legacy version, i can confirm that the game is more playable now, so i will stick to that version, however i am not changing my review, because the re-elected…

It was clearly not "the same" as the former games, but after Saints Row IV, if they weren't going to do another Johnny Gatt game, this was a good option. I always just slow walk it to enjoy the characters, which were good enough to care about

Play Saints Row IV! I know the game was a bit divisive, but personally, I absolutely loved it. It was pure fun!

Literally uses all the previous games animations and feels exactly like Saints Row 3 with a vey, very slight graphics update. This feels like a DLC for saints row 3.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I cannot reccomend this game at all. Not bevause it is bad but for some weird ass reason, this game got updated to the re-elected edition which before it was just the normal game with dlc that you could buy. As a result of the update, this game now struggles to play on my computer. It struggles to load or even when it does load and I play the game then exit, it locks up and crashes my computer forcing a hard restart.
