Even when he passes it will be hard to appreciate all the VAs and animators that brought those stories to life again.

unlabelledView post →A lot d the Rurouni Kenshin live action movies had really fun sword fights. The Swordsman, a k-movie, was also good. Of course, I’m judging them as a sword person myself who has trained in stage combat as well as many other modes, and you have to acknowledge that stage combat is a craft unto itself.
unlabelledView post →Rurouni Kenshin Movie 2 is pretty good! Not as good as the first since it is a pretty setup heavy movie, but I like what it introduces and the arm tug moment was really fun. Super curious to see how movie 3 ties everything together
unlabelledView post →My extraordinarily basic and predictable answer is GODZILLA MINUS ONE. Not just because it's a mini cast reunion of my beloved RUROUNI KENSHIN films, but mostly because it's the platonic ideal of A Scary Godzilla Movie with brilliant filmmaking and characters, and perfect music.
unlabelledView post →I have to at least consider working on books on holidays, aka days we don't have to work, so I did some writing this morning, but I also gave myself the length of a RUROUNI KENSHIN movie to work on the chassis for Steven's new tree because I deserve happiness, damn it #MonsterPictureBook

This movie "Rurouni Kenshin" directed by Keishi Ōtomo, is next on the list, if needed. See you later. #movies #books #LinYutang #RurouniKenshin
unlabelledView post →I wouldn't call myself an anime fan per se coz I've seen so few, but Rurouni Kenshin was immediately my favourite when I got the movie on vhs in 1999 or 2000, and of all the anime I've seen since, it's still my favourite. Always was a sucker for samurai shenanigans (shinsengumigans? :P)
unlabelledView post →If you like him, there is a movie series on Netflix, adapted from anime: Rurouni Kenshin. It's a bit wild, if you aren't used to live action anime adaptations, but he is good. There isn't much romance though.

Bushido (it's really bleak - Prime) youtu.be/zmLJkVtbHW4?... I'll bet Hara-Kiri is great too. The whole Rurouni Kenshin movie series (Netflix) is great too.

unlabelledView post →Dizzy Japanese Cinema Talk 11. Rurouni Kenshin (2012) A manga adaptation done exceptionally well! Satoh Takeru plays Himura Kenshin perfectly with amazing action that needs to be seen! It has heart and so much effort throughout. It's a 5-film series. The sequel is even better! 3, 4, & 5 are OK.
unlabelledView post →And with the movie done with, I finally finish my run of OG Rurouni Kenshin. Good show indeed. I was such a weeb in my young teens, obsessed with samurai and just getting into anime, so when I found the VHS at MVC for £15 I grabbed it. Ending theme towa no mirai is still glorious

Director = Kenji Tanigaki (action choreographer of BLADE II; the RUROUNI KENSHIN films; TWILIGHT OF THE WARRIORS: WALLED IN, which I really must see) See it with an audience if you can!
unlabelledView post →RUROUNI KENSHIN: THE FINAL - 10/10 I am going to sound like a broken record here BUT THIS MOVIE WAS AMAZING! I can see why this movie had a favorite villain in it. The fighting again was amazing! OSTs were great! Great conclusion to the entire movie series. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! #RurouniKenshinTheFinal
unlabelledView post →SERIOUSLYYYYYYYYYYYYY but if anyone hasn't seen them, I highly recommend the Rurouni Kenshin live action films. 📽️ I do say this as never having seen the manga/anime, but those movies were FANTASTIC, especially the fight scenes, omfg.
unlabelledView post →My gateway to #jdramas were 1) the Rurouni Kenshin movie series (star. Takeru Satoh) feudal Japanese swordsman movies (NFLX in US) action packed, history- and Kurosawa-adjacent 2) Midnight Diner (Kaoru Kobayashi) movies and series, quiet, heartfelt, healing to watch. Great accoustic OST, too. Enjoy!
unlabelledView post →Rurouni Kenshin: Reflection I was OBSESSED with Rurouni Kenshin back in the mid-to-late 90s. And as a fan who saw this movie, it actually made me cry at the end. Yeah, it’s non-canon and it diverges from the manga. But teenaged me didn’t know about that at the time. 😅
unlabelledView post →The only adaptations I can think of that were 99% perfect are the Rurouni Kenshin movies, but that's a completely different film industry built around adapting manga. And those movies carry the Curse of Watsuki anyway, which is a particularly filthy burden.

unlabelledView post →The weird part is that these have been forgotten. There’s no entry for them on MAL, AniDB, or ANN, save for a single review of the first film. AniDB in particular is odd, because this is the site that has an entry for everything, like the Rurouni Kenshin Trust & Betrayal Director’s Cut
unlabelledView post →I also realized that the last few shots of this movie are straight up traces of shots from the 1999 Rurouni Kenshin OVA. I kinda love noticing things like this in amateur productions. like heh... I know what anime yall were watching. I watched it too :)

Fight scenes were yet again amazing! Loved the OSTs. Found a new fav character - can’t wait to watch the next one #RurouniKenshinKyotoInferno
unlabelledView post →His best works are probably Rurouni Kenshin film series
unlabelledView post →Next up is "Rurouni Kenshin: The Final". I started it last night and it looks pretty wild. I'll be sad to be finished with the film series but it has been a fun ride so far.
unlabelledView post →🎞️ "Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning" is immediately in my top-10 samurai movies. The action sequences, the drama and the unexpected story all worked together like ingredients in a fine movie-making recipe. 👍 It's the fourth installment in the 5-film series but can be watched as a stand-alone movie.

unlabelledView post →There are a lot of movies about Asian Martial Arts like 'Rurouni Kenshin' that I watched with my dad where the female protagonist is portrayed exactly like that. She is innocent and has to be protected. Everytime she tries to help the protagonist with fighting she stumbles and has to be rescued.
unlabelledView post →Dragon Ball also keeps getting new stuff even though [both!] the original series ended. Bleach got a one-shot(?) sequel story and there's a new manga in the same world I think. Assassination Classroom is getting a new movie based on stuff they forgot to adapt before. Rurouni Kenshin.

unlabelledView post →Back in the day in the US, dubs were known to be pretty bad. Voices that don't fit the characters, lines delivered very stiff, mispronunciations of names/terms were very common. Rurouni Kenshin is a great example because the TV series had an excellent dub, but there was a movie (cont)
unlabelledView post →james gunn is such a great director! He's so cool he should totally make a movie about Rurouni Kenshin! Just to show the world that he's not just a pedophile who makes movies for children. He's also a pedophile who makes movies for other pedophiles and pedophile apologists.
unlabelledView post →When i see a movie with Satoh Takeru, I always want to rewatch Rurouni Kenshin movies 😄 So here we go again. But his character was much funnier in the anime. Oro.
