unlabelledView post →TRIVIA: This film was shot back-to-back with 'The Reptile' using the same sets, a Cornish village created on the backlot by Bernard Robinson. Jacqueline Pearce and Michael Ripper also appeared in both films. (Wikipedia) 🖤
unlabelledView post →Might revisit Plague of the Zombies later. I think I recognised the interior manor house in The Witches recycled as the home of John Carson's sinister squire, I know they also used the same set in The Reptile. Hammer was way ahead of the curve concerning sustainability in the film industry..!
unlabelledView post →Also, the film poster is bit of homage to Jacqui Pearce in the 'The Reptile' don't you reckon? Which, incidentally was on late-night telly here in Australia last night. & Yes of course I rewatched it, one of my faves!😊
unlabelledView post →#justwatched The Reptile (1966), a hammer film shown alongside Plague of the Zombies. A couple moves to a house in the country that is associated with a number of mysterious deaths... A very enjoyable film, with an understated, stately air. Michael Ripper gave a standout performance. #horrorsky
unlabelledView post →Just had a flash in my brain that made me remember the Reptile design from the 1995 Mortal Kombat film Im still upset btw

unlabelledView post →TRIVIA: Actress Jacqueline Pearce disliked wearing the Reptile make-up as she suffered from claustrophobia. After this film she vowed never to wear "creature" make-up in her future acting projects. (Wikipedia) 🖤
unlabelledView post →The part in the first Mortal Kombat movie where the announcer from the game says Reptile before Reptile comes to life and kicks Lui Kang through a wall has the kind of comedic timing that Charlie Chaplain would kill for
unlabelledView post →#NowWatching The Snake Girl and the Silver-Haired Witch (D:Noriaki Yuasa, 1968) "like Taste of Fear, mixed in with the The Reptile, but for kids! It resembles one long children’s nightmare, but that’s like calling Jaws a fishing trip. It’s a nightmare bordering on full-on Japanese horror film."
unlabelledView post →The OG's Liu Kang Vs REPTILE (you just heard the techno kick in) fight is one of my favorite movie fights all about a character getting so pissed off that they end up kicking the hell out of physics and not just their opponent. That flying bicycle kicking! The new ones are okay, I guess.
unlabelledView post →What’s a movie scene from childhood that you’ll never forget? Mine: Mortal Kombat (1995). Reptile came to life and immediately chose violence. No words. No backstory. Just an immediate flip kick to the chest. 😂
unlabelledView post →Limitations and all- same as how we can admire the craftsmanship that went into a movie prop that doesn't hold up up close, imagine being able to see a museum with the T-1000, the JP T. rex, Reptile from Mortal Kombat, Stuart Little, ships from RoTS, Davy Jones, Jake Sully, etc. Would be great. 6/5
unlabelledView post →hello I am here to inform you the film REPTILE, despite its (criminal) 44 percent eating on rotten tomatoes, is actually really fucking good. sorry but I can watch an entire movie if Benicio Del Toro moodily staring into the distance while he unravels a crime. refuse to be ashamed of this.

unlabelledView post →I love how the lyrics for this song is about domination and control. Learning this sure changes the context of the Liu Kang vs Reptile fight in the 1995 Mortal Kombat movie #music youtu.be/yqhPxKEb0MU?...
unlabelledView post →This film is basically the Hammer horror film The Reptile (1966), but with boobs.
unlabelledView post →Horror Released Jan 3 THE PLAGUE OF THE ZOMBIES (1966) A Hammer zombie film set in Cornwall directed by John Gilling & filmed alongside The Reptile (1966); Gilling directed both films. Pretty decent pre-Romero film. #HammerHorror #ZombieFilm #HorrorMovieRelease #BritishHorror
unlabelledView post →Responsible Reptile Keeping just published this great documentary film about the risks of positive lists. #herps, it's a great resource for anyone, keeper or not, who (actually) wants animal welfare to improve! youtu.be/IZnGgCXF-BM
unlabelledView post →I had a horror book with a full page colour still of The Reptile as she attacked, she was nightmare fuel even before I saw the film 😱 but watching now I can appreciate how wonderfully atmospheric it is too. Superbly directed.
unlabelledView post →Hilariously enough, there are few movie fights that I think about more than the Reptile fight in the original Mortal Kombat movie.

unlabelledView post →I'm not even lying, it's the Reptile flight scene from the 1995 Mortal Kombat movie. When the announcer goes REPTILE and he kicks Liu Kang through the wall, the crowd erupted in my theater. This is one of those scenes that refreshes my love of cinema & what it can do when you respect the source.
unlabelledView post →The rest of the main cast should of course be represented, but for characters like say Blanka I think their fans will be fine if their sole appearance is a really cool memorable fight scene. That's what Reptile was in the first MK and it was one of the most iconic and beloved scenes in the film.
unlabelledView post →One of my favorite Hammer films, along with The Mummy and The Reptile. Horror of Dracula is good, but IMO this is a superior movie, and Van Helsing is a bad ass.
unlabelledView post →#TonightsMovie 3 is John Gilling's The Reptile (1966), starring Noel Willman, Jennifer Daniel, Ray Barrett, Jacqueline Pearce, Michael Ripper, John Laurie, Marne Maitland, David Baron, Charles Lloyd-Pack, Harold Goldblatt, and George Woodbridge Trailer youtu.be/tkgr8ilosAc #31DaysOfHammer 26/50
unlabelledView post →She might like The All Canadian Reptile Girl. It’s run by a girl who was homeschooled and part of her assignment was to research, film and edit a show about reptiles. She’s gone to uni & stopped posting, but there’s lots of good easy herpotology info. m.youtube.com/c/AllCanadia...
unlabelledView post →@Zumbador Bitten by an animal displaying unusual behaviour, and absence of fear of humans. We are all pleased to note that #Rabies is a virus carried only by #mammals and since the #tortoise (American: #turtle ) is a #reptile you will not catch that off it. I expect all will be well. Whether the #poikilothermic nature is the deciding factor, or it is an incompatibility of cellular machinery I don't know, but I'd think more likely the latter.
unlabelledView post →Very cool tag team move! 💪 (Truthfully, this is how me and my brothers re-enacted the Reptile fight scene from the 1995 Mortal Kombat movie. 😎) #WatchROH
unlabelledView post →Brilliant episode, as always, cheers @eofftv.bsky.social & @bunnydarke.bsky.social! Despite the Reptile’s victims looking like a frothy Papa Lazarou, and it all ending in flames again, this is a film i love. With a great monster and Michael Ripper centre-stage, ‘The Reptile’ remains a cracker!
unlabelledView post →The two fights choreographed and directed by Robin Shou (Johnny vs Scorpion and Liu Kang vs Reptile) are head and shoulders above the other Jeff Imada and Pat Johnson crap in the film. And the doctor from the Mankind/Undertaker Hell In A Cell plays Sub-Zero.
unlabelledView post →That flick is an all-timer for me. Heavy nostalgia, but I love everything about it, including the supremely shitty Reptile CGI. And y’know, having just watched the second movie and its also-terrible CG, I give them credit for swinging for the fences despite not having a Spielberg budget.
unlabelledView post →Finished playing MK1 after watching Mortal Kombat 2 movie. Syzoth aka Reptile was best colored ninja haha he's so cute! I really like the reboot story. The Raiden and Liu Kang switch. I just thought Kung Lao would be the next champion. Raiden was pretty meh as the champion, too goodie two shoes.
unlabelledView post →Reptile is not just Some Guy. Best fight in the film.
unlabelledView post →It'll probably always be the 90's Mortal Kombat movie. It pretty much understood the assignment, like with the Reptile vs. Liu Kang fight, which serves no purpose and is just a secret fight, but is so perfect for a MK movie. The whole audience cheered when the MK announcer voice said "REPTILE!"
unlabelledView post →Of all the movies based on video games I’d still put the original 1995 Mortal Kombat movie at number 1 Liu Kang vs Reptile fight scene unmatched
unlabelledView post →Released in the U.S. on this day was the British Hammer horror film The Reptile. Directed by John Gilling and starring Noel Willman, Jacqueline Pearce, and Michael Ripper, a Cornish village whose various locals die from mysterious snake bites. #OnThisDay
unlabelledView post →Agreed on all points, sir! Gilling had the knack of getting the best from both his budget and actors, and while this may not quite reach the dizzy heights of his Plague of the Zombies or The Reptile it's no exception. Great stuff, and the last Hammer film shot at the iconic Bray Studios.
unlabelledView post →I would have swapped The Reptile for The Mole People and make it an all-scaled creature film festival.
unlabelledView post →Netflix's "Reptile"—starring Benecio Del Toro and Justin Timberlake—is an odd film, too twisty-turny and complex for its police procedural underbelly. #netflix #filmreview #reptilemovie #beneciodeltoro #justintimberlake www.themoviebuff.net/2025/11/netf...
unlabelledView post →Who hit the Reptile theme from the first Mortal Kombat movie for Máscara Dorada? Because I love it. "Control" by Traci Lords & Juno Reactor forever, baby. #CMLL 🤼
unlabelledView post →Goodnight! Fun fact: For Mortal Kombat (1995), Robin Shou (Liu Kang) choreographed the epic fight with Reptile himself, adding more action to the film last minute!
unlabelledView post →Reptile (2023) 🎥 5/5 ⭐️ This movie was sooo good!! Incredible writing & beautiful cinematography! #filmsky #movies

unlabelledView post →"what if Herbert West was the Reptile Hulk", essentially, albeit that might be too derivative? Albeit in this film due to Coombs' age he'd be like. an ultra-divorced grandpa so it could make sense
unlabelledView post →The movie on the other hand is... well it's a heavily truncated adaption of the first 3 books that cuts the first entry in half to book end the movie. Like the Reptile Room is an entire book but the movie sprints through it in 10 minutes.
unlabelledView post →Been a wild movie day for me, watched Reptile & I Love Boosters & The Dressmaker rn & I rly like all of them - seen Reptile before, I like how it’s a straight crime mystery, but saw I Love Boosters for the first time & loved the story & the presentation, & The Dressmaker is more serious but funny
unlabelledView post →Right. Blue Heron time. Naturally I'm considering following it up with a home screening of Hammer film, The Reptile.
unlabelledView post →I hope @cmcccartoons.bsky.social makes an dragon/Cobra or Reptile themed villain for that 2nd PPG movie
unlabelledView post →Reptile is a great movie. It's an old school crime drama where you have to pay attention to follow the subtleties of the plot development. 100% entertaining.
unlabelledView post →The best fight in the Mortal Kombat film franchise is still Liu Kang vs. Reptile from MK ('95). It was done with a HK stunt team that gave it a more brutal well choreographed scene. So for me, any time there's a fighting game based movie I'm always hoping for that HK action feel.
unlabelledView post →Two things: 1. Llist fails to include the Street Fighter animated film, far superior to that JCVD... thing, also RIP Raul Julia) 2. That 1995 MK soundtrack was awesome and helped introduce me to KMFDM (so did the above film), and that song from Liu Kang/Reptile fight was EVERYWHERE.
