Like, sure, (insert big studio game) sucked and tanked in sales, but if you give my team the art assets, sound assets and music we could really make a good new game from it at a fraction of the cost. I mean... Redfall for example.
unlabelledView post →The best game with "fall" in the name besides Titanfall 2! And Lords of the Fallen. And Fallout. And most of the other ones. Not Redfall tho.

unlabelledView post →I didn’t love Baldur’s Gate 3 as much as everyone else but seeing what happened to Arkane with Redfall and now Rocksteady with that Suicide Squad game I’m just happy there’s a studio that is allowed to give a shit about what they’re doing
unlabelledView post →If Elon Musk does indeed start an AI game studio, I can only hope that every single game he releases makes Concord and Redfall look like smash hits.

unlabelledView post →Like they shouldn't have shuttered ANY studios but I at least understand the narrative of Redfall being the mess it was being justification Tango did EVERYTHING RIGHT! They made good games that people liked and drove folks to Microsoft's service! It's all a fucking shell game with people's jobs

unlabelledView post →Gods I'm fuming over this. Arkane Austin? Their previous game was fucking PREY. Was Redfall shitty? Well, yes, it was signed as a GaaS game by a pretty shitty publisher, presumably in desperate circumstances. It's almost like being bought by a secure pub would have helped them do better next time.
unlabelledView post →It's #PortfolioDay again, so here's my professional post: Hi, I'm Freddie, a long time game dev currently working for Arkane Austin. Here are some of my past and recent works: 1 and 2 are from Redfall 3 is from Mafia 3 4 is from Stacking
unlabelledView post →Woof, so if these leaks are accurate, Dragon Age Veilguard went through the exact same chaos as Redfall: management forced them to make it a live-service multiplayer, then changed their minds way too late in the game and didn't give the team enough time to rebuild as a single-player game.
unlabelledView post →They refunded Concord for everyone is the big difference. Imagine buying a game like towerborne, Redfall, bleeding edge, kiln. Those games struggle to get 3 players a day and have since launch. Keeping a failed game going isn't being consumer friendly, giving a refund is
unlabelledView post →I know Redfall wasn't great, but shutting down the entire game before an offline mode could be completed feels telling about where we're at in games right now
unlabelledView post →Arkane Studios veterans Harvey Smith, Ricardo Bare and Ben Horne reunite at a new immersive sim studio called Black Pony. It's making a single-player game. No live-service. We chat the state of the industry, Redfall, and why immersive sims aren't 'dead' www.thegamebusiness.com/p/arkane-vet...
unlabelledView post →For just a brief moment I forgot about that whole debacle with Redfall and thought to myself "oh man it's been a while since an Arkane game, I wonder when they're doing another one?" and then my heart broke all over again
unlabelledView post →It has been three years since Redfall came out. Here's a throwback to last year, when @Nukov_ questioned if we were too tough on the game: insider-gaming.com/two-years-la...
unlabelledView post →Also every recent live service game made by a studio whose experience was all in single-player stuff (Redfall, Suicide Squad) bombed more than enough that you can pretty easily conclude they'd have made more money if they stuck with single-player games.
unlabelledView post →The performed hatred of the games press as some kind of antagonist is especially annoying because even the times when a game is a huge disaster like Redfall or Anthem and the press asks questions, all the loudest critics gobble up the hard work the reporters did then forget about it the next day
unlabelledView post →Don't mean to be a contrarian, but no they don't. Doom, Redfall, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Wolfenstein and Evil Within are all Bethesda Softworks published games, and none of them have anything to do with the developer studio led by Todd Howard (though he did write the Indy game).
unlabelledView post →I will forever be pissed that Microsoft shut down Arkane Austin after essentially setting them up for failure with Redfall. The team behind a game as amazing as Prey (2017) deserved so much better.
unlabelledView post →i think the primary issue with the gaas push is that they're having singleplayer studios target singleplayer game audiences with a style of game nobody involved is coming to these studios and games for, Concord is its own can of worms but imo it's the underlying optics issue with SS/Redfall/FO76

unlabelledView post →*sighs wistfully at Redfall* There was a game in there I really wanted to love. I will always remember the frozen wall of the ocean. But that game was sent out to die.
unlabelledView post →Trying out Redfall and it starts you on the #accessibility screen and the first thing it offers is screen narration. Any game that doesn't do this is sadly lacking. Good job #Bethesda, and thank you! 🙏 (Will update more)
unlabelledView post →Reinstalling Redfall because for some reason a game about humans mounting a resistance against vampires taking over their home feels cozy right now
unlabelledView post →Fall of 2023 was the last chance, I think. Their last chance to deliver an exclusive that was (1) finished enough on release day and (2) a very good game. They took 3 swings. Redfall was neither, Forza Motorsport was neither, and Starfield was finished but not very good. That was ballgame.
unlabelledView post →I still think about Redfall fondly. That game has very bland gameplay but the vibe was immaculate
unlabelledView post →Redfall is the worst game I’ve played in the last three years. Make of that what you will. 😂
unlabelledView post →Harvey Smith: We got fired, then walked back into Microsoft to ship 'Redfall 1.4' that fixed thousands of bugs “We finished the game and it was very poorly received. unlabelledView post →Redfall might be the last game that people remember Arkane for, but I implore you to never forget about the great games that they have given us. The Dishonored series and Prey are worth your time and money.
unlabelledView post →Was Redfall really that bad? I have never actually played it but I want a spooky season game I can screw around in between other games; and an open-world full of vampires to kill with an easy mode sounds like what I need.
unlabelledView post →Anybody else remember when “Project Redfall” was the code name everybody assumed was going to Elder Scrolls 6 and the game was going to take place in Hammerfell and then it turned out it the code name was just the name of the game and it was a shitty vampire shooter they still sell for $70

unlabelledView post →With recent news it reminds me that Redfall is anything but a 'good' game but I keep finding myself thinking about that North Eastern Oceanside town setting. Gameplay aside, the vibe of that game was immaculate and I find myself wanting to go back to it just to run around
unlabelledView post →Genuinely, comparing it to the Spider-Man trilogy, I'm just like... It feels a bit like sending Arkane Austin to the Redfall mines. Developing a licensed game requires the right developer for the job, and like... This ain't it.
unlabelledView post →I always think of one and only one game. That game is Redfall. I played through that game 4 separate times. I want those precious hours of my life back! Absolute sorry excuse for a video game.
unlabelledView post →Redfall Revisited - with all the news regarding Arkane Austin and Xbox, I thought I'd revisit. It's had huge updates. Such a pleasure to play... are we going to look back at this game as the new Anthem saga, I really do think so. Such a shame. #Redfall #ArkaneAustin #Xbox #Anthem
unlabelledView post →It's funny - Microsoft has released lots of tent pole games on Game Pass, but none of them were very good. The Outer Worlds. Back 4 Blood. Halo Infinite. Atomic Heart. Redfall. Starfield The only game that kept me playing was Vampire Survivors ($5 special)
unlabelledView post →in retrospect the Redfall shirt I had, had the worst quality print that faded in 5 washes. probably wasn't a good indication for what the game was gonna be huh
unlabelledView post →Asked Chat GPT what game is on screen. It first said #GodofWar:Ragnarok. I said no. Then it guessed Immortals of Aveeum. I said no again. Then it asked for a hint to which I said it’s a Bethesda game. It came back with RedFall… 😂

Really enjoyed the setting, both the small town vibes and the very Arkane-esque creepy, otherworldly ones... Disclaimer: ZeniMax employee
unlabelledView post →forever and a day ago, @allanmuir.bsky.social , @graytlo777.bsky.social and I played Redfall and that footage is FINALLY up on the YouTube channel! Bitter sweet looking back at it now, but at least all of its flaws and quirks have made for a very interesting game. Check out the video!
unlabelledView post →Someone should develop a game where you go back in time and tell game developers not to make Redfall and Marathon.
unlabelledView post →Imagine if they drop a Redfall tier game for 80 bucks lmao
unlabelledView post →Warren Spector saw how Redfall went for Arkane and decided he wanted to try it for himself. (Sorry I'm blooting about the game awards.)
unlabelledView post →Redfall was especially shitty because they hired people as if they were going to make a single player game and then they got stuck with a service game. At least they made the game playable offline when they stopped updating it.
unlabelledView post →I haven't played a game this bad since Redfall And I got that one for free!
unlabelledView post →Back when I had Game Pass, which was around when Starfield released, I would at times buy games elsewhere if I enjoyed my time with it on Game Pass. Namely Weird West. About the only good thing Game Pass did for me was to try out bad games without spending money. Games like Redfall and...Starfield.
unlabelledView post →Redfall was a fun game solo and was a blast in co-op and I will die on that hill.
unlabelledView post →Redfall always struck me as a great single player idea ruined by the SaaS/game as service model.

unlabelledView post →Redfall was the best game of 2023
unlabelledView post →Like the style and the setting of #Redfall. It reminds me of Dead Rising, State of Decay, and Dead Island - classic small towns in the USA. The gunplay, running at 60fps, looks gorgeous. However, there are a few things missing in this game that would elevate it to a higher level. For instance, it needs more weapon modifiers (similar to Borderlands), the ability to use cars and motorcycles, and crafting mechanics. #xbox #xboxseriesx #gamepass #xboxgamepass
