positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game has good destruction physics. It's honestly disappointing how games today don't even reach the level of physics this game has.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Games fun as ♥♥♥♥ but im giving it a thumbs down because of one mission in Dust. It's the last one where artillery is raining down and you have to do 10 different objectives. But that isn't the bad part. The bad part is where some dev who had a bad day at work decided to take it out on the game and make it to where the artillery rains down exactly on the last person you're suppoed to collect before the game registers you having collected them. one of two things happens, 1. The civilian…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The destruction in this game is very impressive, inspiring even given its time, I wish the game was mostly just a sandbox with less combat . The half of the game where you're destroying things is very fun and is worth it if you get the game at a discount. This Game is greatly flawed and suffers from a lot of jank and poor mission and game design. The driving is mid at best and at worst actively annoying , every car handles differently in a bad way, going over small terrain will flip your…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game man. Played it when it came out. Thought it was amazing demolition for the day. After all these years, nothing comes close. Kind of sad really.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fantastic remaster of a criminally underrated open-world sandbox. In my opinion, this is the peak of the series. While it certainly has its flaws, the core experience is incredibly unique. The biggest highlight is the destruction mechanics, honestly, they haven't been matched by any game since. Even with its annoyances, it’s hard not to recommend this one. Pros: Unmatched destruction. Responsive controls. Great optimization. Fun combat. Awesome arsenal. Good gameplay variety.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is the gold standard of destruction dynamics. After all these years, no other game that I know of gets even close. Makes you wonder if the gaming industry is actually getting better at making games or making profit.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's been 17 years and there is still nothing else quite like this game. I don't have much hope of living to see this game's setting of the future year of 2125, but I may well have already met someone who will.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This review is due to a game-breaking bug on the mission Manual Override. There is a bridge which is half gone, making the mission impossible to complete. Reloads, restarts, and verifying game integrity didn't work. Support threads from years ago about the exact same bug, seems to have gone completely ignored. Too bad, it's a classic, and I'd love to recommend the game normally.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome game. Classic by now. You can destroy everything. Cool atmosphere that will make you feel like you are on Mars. NPC's and news reports react to how you play. So if you destroyed some important building for example, you gonna hear about that in the news, which is pretty nice touch that makes the world feel organic. Also quite underrated soundtrack. Still closest thing we have to Total Recall the videogame :) Game crashed twice within 35h of gameplay so no big deal. Other than that it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loved the original, this has left somewhat lacking with more bugs from vehicles randomly bouncing off the ground and A.i driving into rock faces, to the lovely message "the game is unable to save, you can continue to keep playing but saving will be **DISABLED** because thats an option in this kind of game?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Save the colonists from explosions caused by random firing artillery. Oops, a colonist has died from a random explosion! Start the entire mission over! Thanks. I appreciate what this game is, the destruction physics are still unmatched to this day, but ♥♥♥♥ Dust, all my homies would gladly let the goldfish colonists burn.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't go in expecting a good story. It's a proper sequel to Red Faction, just lacking in the music and impactful weapon department. Still, no game has gotten procedural destruction right since this came out. The missions aren't horrendous or anything, just bland and sometimes a little frustrating. The multiplayer is 100% dead. There's a HORSE-type game involving destruction that you could potentially play with a friend or two. The DLC is nothing special, but it's just more of the same if you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The destruction is some of the best Ive seen in gaming ever. Literally everything else is mid at best or down right terrible. There is also a clear tendency for the game to punish you if you do things in a way not exactly intended by the devs. They give you all these weapons, explosives, and even have missile tanks but wont let you use most of them half the time. The shooting mechanics are just sorta there and same with the driving. The story is... fine I guess. Up until the end at least then…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For a 2009 game, the destruction physics are probably still the best in a videogame. The ultimate property damage simulator
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's so peak If you want a really good story or complex, intricate mechanics this is not your game. If you wanna turn your brain off and blow up five city blocks worth of infrastructure while watching really bad AI trip over itself or run itself over with a car and see your character ragdoll around like an idiot and be rewarded for it, get this immediately
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Worth one playthrough if you get it for cheap. Story is pretty non-existent and it can get repetitive but blowing stuff up does bring a smile on my face.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simply put, my favorite game of all time. To this day, no game comes close to replicating the level of chaos and destruction that red faction guerrilla offers. If you're a destruction fan; this game is a straight-up classic. If you're not, you will see this game as nothing more than a flawed GTA clone. Which is not a comparison that should be made, as both games are two different kinds of game. Red Faction Guerrilla isn't a pale copy of GTA with a destructible environment slapped on to it,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an enigma of a game. Overshadowed by bigger games that came before it and after it, the standout feature of Red Faction Guerrilla is it's destruction. Geomod enables some really believable and fun destruction, but the question must be raised, what else does this game offer? I would argue, not much. The story is forgettable. The world is generic and sadly unbuilt, so is the map itself. The missions are repetitive and so is the gameplay. This game is, as I said, an enigma. It seems…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like open-world games where you can blow stuff up, complete activities, unlock upgrades and capture regions (Just Cause, Saints Row). This game has all this, but it's also lacking in so many ways. First, it will crash and freeze. Just had one of those again. In such games I usually spam manual save because I hate losing progress. There is no quick save here so it takes a few clicks. Also you can't save if you have an alert level (which is pretty much all the time, and it's hard to shake…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played the original when it came out and this is just a straight upgrade. Definitely a lot of fun if you want to go around smashing things and most of the missions are a lot of fun. Even the ones that fall kind of short don't do so to a degree that it makes them unenjoyable. Definitely worth picking up if you want a game that you can both lock in with and if you want to turn your brain off.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just like I remember it from the Xbox 360 days. Will forever be a tragedy that they never made a true sequel
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the Mars setting and the destruction is still impressive, but unfortunately it's starting to show its age. The missions are just "go here and destroy thing / kill X enemies", and the story is forgettable. I feel like they could have done more with the weapons + vehicles considering it's supposed to be set in the future, they're all very generic. It's a fun game but I would recommend people play Just Cause 2 instead.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The best destruction-based game ever made so far.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's one of those open world games with copy & paste content splattered all over the map (go there and deliver this car, go there and destroy this building, go there and defend your teammates, and now do each of these at least 30 times more). Boring main missions that feel more like side quests, boring story, npc teammates that join you during fights are more annoying than helpful, they just get in your way. Enemies spawn out of nowhere once you trigger alarm. Destructions are fun at first,…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is fun overall, but, and this is a huge but, there is a mission that is completely broken which has been the most frustrating thing iv ever encountered. im trying to complete the "collatoral damage" quests and the npc driver keeps ramming into walls, flipping the vehicle and making me die no matter how well i play. i have spent a solid 6 hours trying to complete this level that should take 5 minutes. i finished the level and we got back to the entrance of our base, and he flipped…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Red Faction: Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered is like the ‘90s action movie of video games—it’s got everything: explosions, chaos, questionable decisions, and a guy with a sledgehammer who’s somehow single-handedly taking down an entire military force. It's so ridiculous, it’s actually amazing. The only thing more satisfying than destroying buildings in this game is realizing Mars has gotten a glow-up thanks to some improved graphics. You’re Alec Mason, a miner-turned-revolutionary, and you're here…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Todays broccoli haired anime gooning devs could never make something like this without prefabs and tools written for them and they would still manage to screw it up and take 50 mental health days a week.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In my honest opinion, despite Red Faction: Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered being from 2009, then remastered in 2018, it is indubitably a splendorous satisfying cathartic re-playable game. And yeah I would definitely recommend this game, especially to those who looking or needing blow off a bit of steam. Which they can do committing some good ole therapeutic destructive fun!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ok, I do love this game. However, there are annoying additions to my love. First of all, driving in certain sectors in this game can feel like you're playing a game titled 'Pothole Simulator'. If you're driving one of those weird-looking, flat cars, you're guaranteed to fly 18 feet off the ground by driving over a bump in the road. The AI seems to be quite confused by the concept of a road too - they'll do a 25-point U-turn for no good reason and then drive into a street light out of pure…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game when it first came out almost 20 years ago, loved it and I was excited to see a remastered edition of a game that had unprecedented levels of interactive destruction for its time. Well I got through a big chunk of the game and I was extremely disappointed to say the least. Maybe my nostalgia goggles failed me, but I do not remember the physics or AI being this terrible. While driving, I was constantly hitting invisible bumps on the road that would cause my vehicle to flip…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game Breaking Breaking Game ATTENTION! This is more of a glitch/bug report I completed the main campaign no problem. I started the bonus mission. The moment the bonus mission autosaved there's a visual glitch where I can see through the world, rendering nearby assets invisible. I reloaded the saves, restarted the game, and still the save remained broken. This glitch even afffected the main campaign save data. Maybe starting a new game might fix this but I didn't bother to check. Beware…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game but vehicle physics and building destruction physics are worse than in the original. There's no good reason to play this over the original, go play it instead!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Worse than the original in every way except the graphics. Just buy the old version instead.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i loe this game but this port sucks. fix your controller support please
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Having played this game on PS3 and Xbox360 back in 2009. this is 100% the best way to play or replay the game. When i was a youngster I remember the Game Informer articles talking about how amazing the physics and destruction was gonna be on this game the main character looked different in the beta stage at that time. IMO it really was a tech demo to prove how far the tech could go and i remind you this ran on the Xbox 360 and PS3 we are talking 2005 tech. Was amazed then and I'm still…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You get to do a protracted people's war on Mars 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →played the game for 8 hours and only had to free the last sector to finish it and it was a fun game, despite crashing multiple times on missions and having a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ gameplay experience due to it, I don't recommend it until they fix the filing issues and stop the game from crashing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was given for free with my original version, that's more than Sony does and it's the best way to play the game currently.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Team America on Mars the video game. EDF EDF EDF!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What's not to love? Liberating Mars from an oppressive regime with tanks, mechs and railguns. Salvage your way to victory miner - collapse and vaporise everything in sight!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So this version of the game is still fun but alot of stuff breaks now that never broke even in the original. Breaking building is fun still but since when do you level the 2 bottom floors and the building still stands? Why when I steal cars and return them to red faction safehouses do they break the stratosphere and flip and fly all over the place like they have no weight to them? Why do when I drive normal and slow over bridges that bridges just start collapsing? Why does my car randomly start…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Uncap your FPS at 240 the game feels amazing. Capped at 60fps it feels like there is cold honey poured on everything. Not sure why but thre you go! oh game play? I FREAKING LOVE THIS GAME! ALL THE COLLECTING THINGS!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to enjoy and recommend this game, especially since I loved it as a kid for its destructible environments and physics. The story always felt rather dull and uninspired to me, full of characters that were introduced too quickly for me to really care about. Despite flaws, some aspects of the gameplay e.g. some of the timed challenges and the explosions, general carnage and rampant destruction can be genuinely fun (I always enjoyed destroying that massive bridge in that multiplayer…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Horrible experience on steam deck. Nothing is mapped to correct buttons, button selection not displayed properly to the point that everything sits on top of other displayed settings, terrible default FOV (45degs), newest save at bottom of list. Zero QOL features. Literally the first game I've had issues on deck with. I expect better from Steam and these Devs. Hopefully its a better experience on PC. Controlls feel clunky, sounds are terrible, looks like a mix of remastered content and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i put the game in full screen and all it does is flicker ive tried everything and it doesnt work its super ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying everytime
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a classic that never gets old.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Experiencing some pretty bad FPS drops at (10-20 fps) and really high single-core CPU utilization after playing the game for 20+ minutes. When I restart the game, it still 15-25fps on the main menu and that CPU utilization is still high. Strange. Tbh, it's kind of unplayable because of this. Haven't experienced this with other more graphically intense games.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Greatest destruction in any game ever made. Every building, bridge, is built using real architecture so that it will support its structure, otherwise it would just collapse. The game suffers from dated mission design, and the story is so garbage is might as well not even be there. The MASTERFUL destruction, still not even replicated TO THIS DAY, elevates this game from mediocre to good-even great. It will be hard for you to go back to today's games totally static environments after playing this…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Basically you just destroy everything with hammers and explosives, and it's extremely satisfying. Excellent weapon and vehicle selection as well. Gem of a game that I completely missed when it released back in the day. Glad it was remastered

I’m talking about the game. So, hello and welcome to my review of an out-of-this-world game! Get it? Because….. the game’s setting takes place on Mars and Mars is out of this world! I’ll smash…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I appreciate the remaster but this didn't feel needed. The OG stills holds up perfectly fine and playing both games back to back the visual differences aren't very obvious. That and I ran into a really annoying glitch that is unfixable, during the mission Manual Override, you must escort a vehicle though Oasis with a massive battery and It's pretty fun. However, if you happen to be me you may notice a key important bridge this convoy must cross is missing. it is not a destructible bridge, it is…
