The series recorded heat indexes exceeding 31,000 on Tencent and 10,000 on iQIYI within one week of its broadcast. Upon its release, the series debuted at number six on Netflix's Global Top 10 Non-English Shows chart. The drama was praised for its engagement of the "femme gaze," a prominent element in director Zeng Qingjie's prior work. The series received praise for its an inverted fairy tale plot structure with a supernaturally strong female main character and a supernaturally handsome male main character. Chinese magazine CNA Lifestyle noted that beauty of the lead actor, Zhang Linghe, is emphasized in both in the dialogue as well as filming choices, in ways that are specific to its…

positive · AI labelView post →www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3... New mod 'Pursuit Of Jade' is live! Contains 4 new head presets for the CC based on characters from this amazing series <3
neutral · AI labelView post →I have so greatly enjoyed the synchronicity of so many friends all watching Pursuit of Jade together and seeing all the reactions simultaneously across the timeline. it's been a while since everyone coalesced around a show like that! Zang Hai or The Double, but they both created way less chaos 💕
positive · AI labelView post →Upcoming cdrama #PursuitOfJade (formerly known as #ChasingJade or #ZhuYu) has been added to iQIYI's coming soon section!!!! The streaming service also added two teaser trailers for the first episode featuring leads #TianXiwei and #ZhangLinghe. IT'S COMING GUYS. www.iq.com/album/pursui...
neutral · AI labelView post →QiMin's design is almost done. Lots of armature issues but I think I can fix him (those who watch the show get the joke) #PursuitOfJade
neutral · AI labelView post →Just LOOK AT HIM. I’m on episode 27 of the 40-episode series Pursuit of Jade starring Zhang Linghe. I’m already sad that it’s going to end. Also bring back this hairstyle on men please.
positive · AI labelView post →Watching Pursuit of Jade cdrama with Zhang Linghe and I’m obsessed with his hair. More ludicrously long hair on male leads please. Also this show is fantastic.
positive · AI labelView post →I finished watching Pursuit of Jade at an alarming rate tbh My first ever live action Chinese drama! Big fan
positive · AI labelView post →i don't know what i'm going to do after i finish Pursuit of Jade. I started because i havent heard anything bad about it. my mood was pretty bad. gave it a try.💕 BUT I'M 27 EPISODES IN. I STARTED 5 DAYS AGO. I HAVE BEEN LOVING EVERYTHING. I'm scared of how I'll feel after this series is over.
positive · AI labelView post →I'd seen Foundation General tags on Xiaohongshu but didn't know why until reading this MDL article. It's chilling that the military is criticizing a drama because the ML isn't "masculine enough." Supposedly the celebration banquet for the show was cancelled in response. 😮💨 #Cdrama #PursuitofJade 2/2
neutral · AI labelView post →Show is Pursuit of Jade and it sure is A Time. I normally don’t watch cn dramas but Mia baited me with evil brother duo.
neutral · AI labelView post →I am taking a pause from bingeing Pursuit of Jade (at E25; still love it! That’s so rare for me!) to start Bloodhounds S2. I need some violent fluff. There are very many well-honed gentlemen in this series. #KDrama
positive · AI labelView post →I love them. Also I love him. I love this show 😭 #pursuitofjade
positive · AI labelView post →THIEFTESS was a story I needed to write, exactly when I needed to write it. Even if it didn't match the first 3 books in the series or current fiction trends. Now I'm watching PURSUIT OF JADE & thinking the story of my tiny bloody Pirate Queen may be a story everyone else wants to hear after all...
neutral · AI labelView post →Everyone else waiting for the ML in this, but I just want to see my beautiful wife Tian Xi Wei and her dimples again... Show: 逐玉 / Pursuit of Jade #cdrama #zhuyu

neutral · AI labelView post →I'm coming off Pursuit of Jade, which I loved, but it was obvious that every fat character in the series was either dumb, greedy, or evil, so perhaps I'm feeling extra prickly about this, but Nishi is definitely a case of "your cultural fatphobia is showing."
neutral · AI labelView post →It's pretty apt, I realize, that as my #ffxiv fic enters Stormblood, I'm watching Pursuit of Jade and all of its very cool fight scenes. There is gonna be a POJ-shaped void in my heart after I finish this series.
positive · AI labelView post →started watching that series Pursuit of Jade and it's so cinematic 😭💕 every scene is so fcking beautiful that I wanna screenshot everything for drawing references
positive · AI labelView post →I tend to not watch cdramas because of the length of the series, but I recently started Pursuit of Jade on Netflix and (like everyone else in the world it seems) am totally hooked. Insane production values and what looks like a really interesting story. youtu.be/fjQ4AFrgGx4?...
positive · AI labelView post →Holy crap. I basically did nothing but mainline Pursuit of Jade this past weekend. This show is dangerous. It's so good.
positive · AI labelView post →Hmm, I am planning to start watching Pursuit Of Jade tonight. Mainly because I am curious and a few people I follow keep mentioning the show 👀. Each episode is at least 40 something minutes long. So far 35 out of 40 episodes are out. Episode 36 = March 26. Final Episode = March 30th.
neutral · AI labelView post →I finally finished Pursuit of Jade yesterday and damn, what a show. I’m not sure what to start next, open to suggestions!

neutral · AI labelView post →Omg I freaking love this show! I’m such a sucker for a strong female lead ☺️ #PursuitofJade
positive · AI labelView post →Xie Zheng from Pursuit of Jade is literally on crutches for the first several episodes (when he's able to walk) and also he marries into a recently-orphaned butcher's house as her fancy man. It's a fairly new show, but a lot of people are watching it as their first C-drama!
neutral · AI labelView post →This show is longer than “The Pursuit of Jade.”

neutral · AI labelView post →File for later: Pursuit of Jade is a fine popcorn series--wuxia (histfic rather than magical so wirework+ battlefields+ POLITICS), Extremely wuxia romance (Austen not HBO), MULTIPLE bel/les inconnu, w/almost Rurouni Kenshin-style wacky tonal shift dashes delivered via soundtrack.
neutral · AI labelView post →Truly no show could ever feed me like Pursuit of Jade is feeding me!!! Zhang Linghe as a wife guy who’s also deeply messed up and violent, a little kid character who rules actually, Tian Xiwei killing it in every scene AND we’ve got Deng Kai coming in a gray wig and a mask???? PLEASE. 🤩
positive · AI labelView post →Okay, I have 2 eps of Pursuit of Jade left to go. Going to a show this evening but will probably get them afterward. It's been a ride.
positive · AI labelView post →The fight scene in Pursuit of Jade ep 4 has made me laugh harder than any fight since I watched Jackie Chan movies as a kid -and Yan Zheng's expression is PERFECT. This is a good show!
positive · AI labelView post →Pursuit of Jade, the show where various hot young men go "lolol you like and respect her ~soooo~ much," and the hot older men go "wow, I see you already have three father figures, but I will fight them to be your dad. Maybe some kind of barbecue-off?"
positive · AI labelView post →Pursuit of Jade is ~feminist~ for, like. Values of feminism that can exist within a tv show created under the conditions it was created under. But. There is a point where someone looks directly at the camera and says "If a woman gives CPR to a man, she will immediately get kidnapped by a psycho."
neutral · AI labelView post →I kept getting thrown by Ren Hao's voice in this show and I finally looked it up and lol Ren Hao's voice actor in this short series is Yi Fan, the same voice actor who dubbed Zhang Lingye in Pursuit of Jade 😂 The young emperor from Pursuit of Jade also makes an appearance! A mini-pre-union!
neutral · AI labelView post →I was going to watch Pursuit Of Jade last night, but got distracted.Currently watching. That lady is badass picking up that🐖looked super heavy & very wiggly.I hope that the novel Zhu Yu by Tuan Zi Lai Xi gets translated into English. It would be nice to be able to compare Book & TV Show. #PursuitOfJade

neutral · AI labelView post →I’m only on episode 5 of The Pursuit of Jade and this show is amazing and I love it
positive · AI labelView post →This is my current favorite watch, and the show really is a master class in storytelling. Lots of gorgeous cinematography and people too. For those who don’t watch many Chinese dramas or don’t know where to find them, Pursuit of Jade is on Netflix so you likely already have a subscription.
positive · AI labelView post →One character, who was a support role in the Chinese show "Pursuit of Jade," had the face of one actor swapped onto another actor's body. Apparently the original actor was involved in a big scandal. The film was ready to be aired. Easy fix? So many questions ... www.theguardian.com/film/2026/au...
neutral · AI labelView post →Oooo adding #TheVendettaofAn and #TheLieWeLivedIn to my watchlist! Thank you :) I loved Pursuit of Jade and I really loved Love Between Lines. I think that show was the right drama at the right time for me this year!
positive · AI labelView post →Finally watched Pursuit of Jade and the whole way through I was imagining how the ML would have been as Hua Cheng. Good show though. Loved Fan Changyu and A'Ning was so fucking adorable.
positive · AI labelView post →Read the Book the Handmaids Tale, have not been watching The Testaments. We just finished "the Pursuit of Jade" a 40 episode historical Chinese mini series. Good stuff, just a weak finish. Yangxi Palace (70 episodes!) was great. It could have been titled "The Real Housewives of the Forbidden City."
neutral · AI labelView post →Watching epic series "In Pursuit of Jade" triggered a memory. Arvy & I once went to a spa with a dark Relaxation Room, playing epic Chinese instrumental OST with war drums. In fact very energizing. Feeling confused, I heard Arvy murmur: "I feel like dying for the great Chinese Empire right now."
neutral · AI labelView post →Finally caught up on Pursuit of Jade and ahhhhh the episodes from the last few days have been INTENSE! (Also deeply amusing at so many moments!) If you haven't already gotten on the bandwagon with this show, I suggest you do! It's so good!!
positive · AI labelView post →Pursuit of Jade is hitting all the right notes for me today. A historical costume epic (40 episodes) with a speedy-enough and interesting enough plot despite it getting into some weeds and minutiae. Lots of fighting interspersed with *Who on earth is this person* discovery and character development
positive · AI labelView post →Pursuit of Jade, not a show for the vegetarians amongst us 😕
negative · AI labelView post →That was a cute show. I am now working my way through Pursuit of Jade & The Princess Royal 😊
positive · AI labelView post →Anyway I obviously know it'll never be a 1:1 - but it annoys me when everything is changed, especially all the best parts are stripped out. I'll even like a series if it's well done and they absolutely change the core message. But that's ... hard to accomplish. Pursuit of Jade is an example.
negative · AI labelView post →Mr Cricket and I have started watching Pursuit of Jade, which is perfect because he just had surgery on his other arm (yay, complete set!) and has to sit still for two weeks, and the show has a million episodes.
neutral · AI labelView post →Ironic! I just learned about them on the Netflix show "Pursuit of Jade". The bird saved the day and the girl!
neutral · AI labelView post →Several months late to the party, but starting Pursuit of Jade and it’s already such a pretty show!
positive · AI labelView post →Rewatching Pursuit of Jade and wowowowow this show!!!! So good!!!! Aaahhhh
positive · AI labelView post →Oh no (re no hetero love story) for you considering the whatever censorship rules 😭😭😭 Wuxia series might have less romance/but it’s cuz the characters get killed off 😅☠️☠️☠️ Pursuit of Jade is an excellent series all around! (I’m not even THAT mad imo the scriptwriter changed the core point 😅🫠)
positive · AI labelView post →More from my Chinese period piece show "Pursuit of Jade"... "Uphold virtue, grant mercy, cherish the worthy, honor the different." Now that's words for an emperor to live by!
neutral · AI labelView post →clearly (see also Pursuit of Jade) but neither show needed to be anywhere good as it was. Simple fluff/horror would've been fine and yet they went for the fences w/them anyway. (Not complaining! Just sort of amazed.)
positive · AI labelView post →Zhang Linghe’s Next C-Drama After ‘Pursuit of Jade’ Finally Has a Release Date parade.com/tv/overdo-zh...
neutral · AI labelView post →I'm on Viki. Had no idea iQ existed until my friend told me she was watching this awesome show Pursuit of Jade on it.
neutral · AI labelView post →I'm starting this thread bevause I FINISHED "Love Game in Eastern Fantasy". 1/2 I saw people talk dislike the ending but i liked it. it wasn't filling the void Pursuit of Jade left but the pacing and subplots didn't deter me away like other series I've watched. the couples were cute
neutral · AI labelView post →ah cool! deel gerust! sinds ik op netflix 1x begon aan Alchemy of Souls ben ik hopeloos verstrikt aan (historische) c & k series :) Pursuit of Jade al gezien? Die vond ik erg leuk.
