Panoramical puts me in the same state of euphoria that Stendhal felt visiting the Basilica of Santa Croce in Florence for the first time, as he became overwhelmed by the dazzling…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →(I've now explored every scenario of PANORAMICAL, and my awe is palpable. I don't believe I've ever had some many friends "wish list" a game I've reviewed or suggested.) I’ve just begun experiencing PANORAMICAL, and I’m damn near speechless. It’s not a game, there’s nothing to win, no one to defeat, no points to score (as far as I can tell.) Only a world of your own making, or at least “fine tuning”, to explore in literally endless variety and scope. The intro and first two scenarios begin to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's an interesting concept but I don't like the way it was executed. It reminds me of the visualisers I played around with on my PS2 a while back but more elaborate. Unfortunately no matter how I try all scenes have that distinct 'LSD trip' look and not the 'alien planet' look I was hoping for. I don't like the 'music' for the same reason. It just a bunch of electronic sounds, but there is never any melody. Once you start messing around with all the different parameters you'll be bombarded…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A wonderful game that is particularly useful for anyone interested in interactive meditation. An absolute delight to the senses.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its a very good "music painting thing whatever". You start it press some buttons move the mouse and think "♥♥♥♥ im leonardo da vinci and wolfgang amadeus mozart in a fresh new style" 9/10 miss VR support
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →immersive and uplifting, each of the included scenes has dozens of possible angles to explore and recombine--i spent a good hour with just two of them, and i'm eager to return for another go. panoramical is something like a kaleidoscope, something like a sand painting, something like a wellness tool. "toy" is a better description for it than "game," but only in the sense that it's something to hold, manipulate, and explore rather than something to struggle with, master, and set aside. it's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a fun little experiement but for 10 bucks it's vastly overpriced. I've played for less then an hour and already seen pretty much all the content. I'm not saying the game is bad, I think it does what it is trying to do and does it well, I just don't think there's enough of it here to justify the cost.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Maybe this just isn't for me, but I feel disappointed. I'd been interested because of David Kanaga's earlier “Proteus”, which I'd returned to many times to wander around in and relax. I'd been looking for the same but more, and I didn't find it here. After a bit under an hour, I've whizzed through all of the scenes here, at least up to unlocking inverted mode, and I can't see myself coming back. There's a bit of beauty here, but also a bit of chaos and ugliness. All the same, I feel bad for not…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If I could rate a game purely based on how good it is for making desktop wallpapers, Panoramical is up there with the best. As a fun diversion to enjoy some eye-melting visual effects, it's maybe a little expensive. If you got a discount coupon for it (like I did) or see it for cheap during a sale, and just want to enjoy a trip for the eyes, go for it. Just know there's not really much interaction other than messing with 9 sliders which affect each of the 14-15 environments, (that's as many as…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great way to spend some time, original and enjoyable visual/sound experience. Such a shame there's so little of it. Needs more levels for a thumbs up.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →SUMMARY: A musical/visual game where you manipulate various settings to create your own visual/musical combinations. Worth purchasing if you enjoy experiential games, and like unusual musical and video experiences. Panoramical is best summed up as an audio/visual toy. It's a kind of spiritual lovechild of screensavers, Proteus, and the Atari C-240. As you play (with minimal instruction) you enter various settings. In those you have nine factors you can maniuplate - there's no directions,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very artistic abstract visual experience https://youtu.be/IOd9kuXRUbc + Some very psychadelic abstact visualizers that intrigue the eye + You get to control various elements of each scene and change it in quite a number of ways + Nice relaxing music + Some of the scenes leave you in such a trance (especially the very last scene) + Easy to understand controls - I would have loved if I could import my own music and have the visualizations sync with it - Not a whole lot of "gameplay" to this…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Infinite possibilities, all of them the same.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best level select screen in videogame history.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This isn't some boring pretentious art game, it's a genuinely relaxing experience. 100% worth the money.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What can I say, in 20 minutes playtime I made some interesting music, bled from my eyes and saved my acid dealer the trip. Awesome and confusing at the same time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →模式很新颖,然而没有什可玩性。 除了截图没什么能做到。歌也只有那十二种选项。 可能半个小时不到这个游戏就能被探索完。 实在是对不起它的价格。 The idea of this game is pretty original. However, it is not very much playable. Players can do nothing but taking screenshot. I ost my interests to this game after only half an hour, which is really not worth $10.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →How do you even describe this "videogame"? In Panoramical, you are given a template, in which you can move at will the parameters that change that template, creating sounds and objects in the screen as you do so. Thats pretty much it. Thats the extent of the actual interactivity you have in this game. You procedurally generate sound and visuals. What is really incredible, is how much that small interactivity can create both visually and audibly. Every button in your gamepad adds something…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i'm into meditation and when i saw this game, i thought it might be a nice experiment. i wasn't expecting much and i bought the game while on sale, but still, it was a dissapointment. music is mostly overwhelming and feels more like a noise experiment that you'd encounter in modern art museums. you feel like you get it, but deep inside it's boring as hell. the visuals are not so great either. i managed to mix a couple of somewhat nice moody scenes but "mesmerizing" - as the game claims itself…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its like taking acid and then going to play pokemon go in the woods while listening to vaporwave
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You find yourself in this ever moving forest of black little hills, shooting purple stars, yellow bubbles and ethereal looking sheets of white. You can manipulate them and change them into something else. The sounds seem to move along with the changes or is it the visuals that move along with the sounds? It doesn't matter. Behind me, my boyfriend tells me later, the cats were breaking down the house, but I was completely oblivious and sucked into my screen. Yes I was on a trip. A journey.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Freakin' amazing. Love the fact that you can use a midi controller with this. Pour yourself a drink, sit back, and prepare to lose yourself in these soundscapes while twiddling your knobs.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So, this looked cool at first glance. At second glance, it looked like Jackson Pollock had a cheap acid trip with a terrible record playing in the background. 0/10, would not install again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Panoramical can be seen as both game and software, and it's unlike anything on Steam, that's for sure. It practically allows you to generate your own abstract scenes within the game limits. There are 15 scenes and you have 9 switches to manipulate them: change environments, add effects, make that percussion sound to be faster, etc. It sounds pretty basic and boring when you read it, but in the game it feels like pure magic and you can't say for sure what do you change exactly, how it affects…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like walking around on planets built out of 90s audio visualizers.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not worth it. Every soundscape is a minor variation on ambient electro. Not even a hip-hop beat nor any instrument of any kind. Your run of the mill remix contains more variation that these "different" areas. Also, the graphics are SO 1980s. I got that from the promo video, but I didn't expect it to be that bad on my computer. Love supporting indie games, but this one is not ready. It's simply not fun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If a hard-to-make task doesn’t add value to a game, why making it in the first place? I love the procedural animations of Rain World, soundtrack of Panoramical, maps of Minecraft. They react to the player, they add surprise, they are the gem of these games 1/8

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is an absolute masterpiece! The visuals you can create is just out of this world! This is a must have game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an interactive art piece that you move through at your own pace - not really a game. You use various dials to adjust what feel a bit like arbitrary parameters that change various aspects of the audio-visual experience (I sound pretentious, I know). Consider the price of this game a lifetime (or as long as it's up on steam) admission ticket to a strange museum with flashing lights.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Cool game, but have you tried it on DMT ?" -Roe Jogan Amazing visuals, but unfortunately that's it. In each level your buttons increase or decrease the ammount of effects that are going on in the game, producing amazin visuals but with really little substance. If there is an art exibit for videogames this one would be a prime candidate to ease people who only think paintings are art into a more videogame-y optic, an interactive piece of art. I'm going to give it a positive review even if i…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →1. Take Acid 2. have a WONDERFUL journey.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dough simulator. Or dope simulator if you prefer. 10/10 would want to get stoned again. P.S. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ my eyes hurt.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I took up on offer for a beta key, and then promptly forgot to play this. Too late perhaps, but I do want to state now that I've played: What an incredible experience! No UI issues, just simplistic controls and a wonderful sensory experience. If you enjoy trippy music videos or 'journey' games, this is a must-buy. I have only one request, now: VR SUPPORT. This game plus VR would be an incredible trip.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is really novel, but one thing all of the glowing reviews on every single tech website didn't tell me was this: it's a LOT easier to make noise than it is to make anything remotely resembling music. After an hour of playing, I'm still not even really sure if this is by design or not. Don't expect to jam, don't expect a melody - expect it to sound more like several people plunking random notes on several keyboards at once while someone else provides the "rhythm" by plunking more…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still can't believe this game exists.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love Panoramical so much! It's incredibly beautiful and a very unique experience. It's something I would fire up before I go to bed to get creative and relax a bit. Disclaimer: I know the developer
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have 0 idea what the creators were smoking when they created this and I'm kinda afraid to ask. good game. i liked it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The sensory experience that is Panoramical brought me to tears in a way few other pieces of art ever have or will.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →interactive visuals which make my tiny child brain happy
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a beautiful game, but I wouldn't recommend getting this if you suffer from any degree of motion sickness.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have no idea what the ♥♥♥♥ just happened.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game will make you wish you were tetrachromatic :) Very warm and fuzzy feelings. Love how messing with controls alters the atmospheric music. Short and simple.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is basically like drugs. Only that you'll save much more money in them.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this during the summer sale figuring, "why the hell not?". Well come to find out, I can't think of a reason not to buy this 'game'!!! Get it now and visit another world!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Panoramical not a game, and should not be purchased as such, I think it's a good experiment, but too expensive, it comes to 10 EUR. It immerses you in beautiful worlds and artistically well done (Below is the Italian full review) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pz7oDNamEUk Gioca a PANORAMICAL , dove è possibile immergersi in paesaggi da sogno con la semplice pressione di un tasto. negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not sure if you can call this a game but it's amazing. It's really trippy and amazing i'm sure the dev also sells some green as DLC so you can experience this more. Skip to 6:15, 8:30 and 11:30 for the real action. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifOXRipy3fA
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Jaw-droppingly beautiful. Screenshots and videos can't do it justice, it's all about starting with almost nothing and playing with knobs to transform the scene into something totally different. This is an important game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →(Hippietrap is a useful term from burner culture. Its an art installation with pretty swirling colors and no start or stop state, so you can attract and trap wandering stoned people. Great for festivals! “Everything” and “Panoramical” were flawless hippietraps on the indie game circuit)
unlabelledView post →The first 10 worlds in Panoramical’s base game are truly excellent—relaxing music and ever-changing landscapes. But the real fun begins after the credits roll. You unlock access to 3 new worlds created by different artists. One of these is by George Buckenham and Jukio Kallio, and it takes the game to the next level. Like the other worlds, there are 9 channels to adjust the music, but here, each channel contains multiple samples that can be further modified—and there are a lot of them.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →music and hallucinogen-users rejoice...this game seems to have been designed exclusively for psychonauts and day-trippers. when i was a lad, i remember wishing that there was some kind of software that would better assist me control the nature of my psychotropic-fueled innerspace explorations...now, however, its a great tool for adjusting moods and meditation...the power and utility of such software is not to be underestimated because despite my tongue-in-cheek statements above, i could ALSO…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is what the kids call "a vibe"
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love abstract and psychedelic art. I'm so happy I could experience this artistic masterpiece! Captivating, mesmerising, relaxing. This is not really a game but an interactive toy where you adjust sliders to alter the sounds and scenery, so it might not be for everyone, but I knew I would enjoy it at first glance. Awesome sensory experience. Will definitely be playing it again!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It’s like that drug trip I saw in that movie while I was on a drug trip
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Basically, this seems like little more than an interactive midi player. There is little more to do than wiggle your mouse a bit and watch the circles appear. The 'music' is also a disjointed mess. Finally, my system hung and the game crashed trying to exit out of this confusing pointless mess.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty fun to play around with. Best played whilst intoxicated.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of my favourite anxiety-busting tools. Pretty simple so you'll unlock the "worlds" fast, but in use it's more like a piece of software than a game. Good sounds, cool shapes, nice movements. You can play around actively or just find a sound you like and leave it running in the background or on your screen as a neat endless music video.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't know what to say. This game left me speechless. Gotta say it's not for everyone, but give it a try. The visuals are stunning. The music is confusing at first, but you can work on it until you get good sounds. Still, I don't know what to say. Didn't have a single thought while I was playing it. Short, but very interesting experience. Recommended.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game feels to me like experiencing someone else's synesthesia, which makes it super weird. I feel like the visuals and the sounds don't really match each other. I was expecting there to be music, but it really is just a cacophony of noises, that gets on my nerves really quickly. I did like it better to play it with the sound turned off, but to be honest, I don't think I will play it again. What this game most reminds me off, is the old visualisation options on Windows Media Player, but…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't know why I bought this game, but I'm glad I did. Panoramical, was quite the experience. You shapeway each area looks and sounds. Though short, and a bit pricey for the amount of content, I'd recommend buying on sale.
