Hopefully the problem gets resolved, but for now I'll leave a negative review to warn people not to waste their time on a game that can't even be launched.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Review was updated (a little bit for now)! Palais de Reine came to Steam literally out of nowhere. I do not remember any announcements by Degica or even a single message in any of my favorite visual novel-related groups. But I should say, it turned out to be a very pleasant surprise indeed. Also, today I decided to try a different format for my review. I asked my Steam friends what parts of Palais de Reine they were interested in and what could help them decide whether to buy the game or…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dont buy this game. The devs have updated the game with a virus. and are saying you should whitelist it. Really shady. And im not going to that. The virus that is being detected is a trojan virus. called for me: Trojan:Win32/Masson.A!ac It is really shady if you have bought this game and it is being updated with a virus. So watch out. Do not buy this game. For me it is too late i have it for years and played a bit of it too. But maybe i can save others. I already reported this game to steam.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let me start by saying that I'm an absolute history romance fan. I just cannot help but become interested in any title that combines these two aspects, as it's one of the best combinable genres. However, with Palais de Reine, I was a little bit hesitant because of the description. You see, it's a queen simulation game and thus, the player has to manage a kingdom. Politics was always an aspect that didn't interest me at all, regardless, I decided to give this visual novel a chance, although I…

Guess I have to work for being queen now. > Hot Knight dude leaves. Wait no come back. > Immediately hire him back, along with a playboy, childhood friend, and dude thats SIMPing for my brother. Knight Harem +3.5 > Hire another hot old dude and literal Furry. Knight harem + 1.5 >Gradually win over territory with gifts and hot older knight dude as…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Once I figured out how to get it to fit my screen, and to choose "bag check" when given the choice (if u pick something other than 'bag check' you get a bunch of weird text). it's really fun! I don't particularly care for strategy and stat raising games. However, the story was fairly complex with a lot of cut scenes. I can see a lot of replay ability. There are just SO many characters. Almost all of which you can befriend. Or not. i thought this game may turn out to be a dud, when I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The hardcoding to 1920x1080 resolution makes the game completely unplayable for me. Please fix this issue, I really wanted to play this. I can't offer it a good review otherwise.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was very excited to play this game, it seemed very interesting and up my ally. However I was highly disappointed to find out that My laptop doesn't support 1920x1080 resolution which is required for this game. More resolution options for this game should be available like other games. Not everyone has 1920x1080 resolution. I find it unusual that the game only supports one resolution. I asked for a refund. I may buy it again if the game's resolution support is changed to support…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was pumped up to play it and only got like an hour of gameplay before it glitched and then my pc said I must not play it since it's infected with a virus. What? The devs seem to really don't mind and after more than 2 years still have done nothing. Such a waste of time, I was so excited to play this til the end
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't let the pretty artstyle fools you - you can order a hit on a child as the very first action you take! Many pretty boys. Many normal and presentable old men that doesn't look like corpses. Token lesbians. Token dead person. Token furry. Exotic options. Multiple non-romance ending if you love yourself. Multiple MASSACRE endings if you are feeling edgy. What more could you ask for in an otome game?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While I have no doubts that the strategy portion of the game is done well, I couldn't ignore the faults the game seems to have in the visual novel aspect. I understand that it is an old game from 2006, but I've seen plenty of visual novels from that time period that seemed to do better or were at least more up my alley. Transitions are a little awkward and I hate how the princess' portrait never changes, sort of defeating the point of her portrait being there to begin with. Other sprites…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't leave reviews a lot, so sorry if this is mostly useless information. For an otome game that came out back in 2009 this is a surprisingly polished game. It crosses Vn elements with strategic elements. I found the game play and story telling extremely interesting, and it helps that although there are 7 main love interests, you can have scenes with and feasibly have an ending with all of the other characters in the game - and though I didn't count them, that's more than 30 characters…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Why are the paper doll (dress up function) and room decor game gone? Seriously, weren't the room decors triggers for special character routes (Epidote's craft) and Doppleganger knight? Also, in the original version, scenes with several characters requires special dress arrangements. Eliminating these two functions honestly dampened a lot of joy. Please bring back!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Follow our curator for similar games https://store.steampowered.com/curator/35180752-3-point-play/ Queen sim / otome VN + excellent art and music + deep strategy = Majestic in both aspects of strategic sim and VN, everything is splendid and entertaining. Fight for the throne through force or charm. There is a learning curve and thorough tutorial that walks you through the strategy sim part. This reminds me a bit of ROTK franchise when you try to recruit knights and lords through various…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Terrible start. I have a laptop that is 1366x768, which is below the dpi that is required for this game. As it is running Windows 8, it doesn't have the display option to "Overwrite high-scale dpi". I tried putting the display option "Disable high-scale dpi", but it didn't work. This game is unplayable on the laptop, Windows 8.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I just finished my 1st play through and will be starting my 2nd. It's kind of a stat raising game so be prepared to click alot. That being said I do love the story line and would recommend it. Things that I particularly liked: - Lots of ending with lots of different LI [including at least 1 female I believe] - All the characters have unique personality and I was actually interested in learning more about their backstory - Eclair - Great translation! If there were any mistake grammar wise I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yes I did play THIS for 88 hours! I would have played it for a 100 hours if I had the chance. This is my first every grand strategy game vs Otome genre. I also noticed that there are lot of virus flags, which for some reason I did not encounter and I was playing since December to March (when I had time). The amount of work the studio has put into this game is insane, I am someone who do not like these overpriced Otome giving us just 30 mins of content and it's not even impressive, but this…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First of all, they fixed the virus warning! It was a false warning apparently, but regardless, it's been fixed so if you're hesitating because of that, this matter is solved. I'm big on diplomacy/political sim games, especially when they go "raise and develop the princess", and Palais de Reine is one of my favorites! Filia has lost her father the king, her elder brother who had universal acceptance as the next king because of his amazing qualities has disappeared, and the queen has been dead…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Highly recommended. -Romance parts are optional and not required to finish or to enjoy the game!!! -It has two difficulty settings, normal and difficult. -You can’t just click your way through the game. If you fail the strategy part then that means game over. -Has partial voice acting. The 7 “poster boy” knights are all voiced, while the 20 kights are not voiced. Some of the Lords are voiced, as well as the Princess’ two aides. -Don’t focus too much on voiced characters. The rest of the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Otome game with ACTUAL GAME! (Also there's like more than 5 people to get with)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Edit: Why is there a virus. I can't return to it after all this time? What a waste.* I only finished my first playthrough (and lord what a mess it was, but I pulled through!), but this is definitely replayable worthy to get all scenes and endings with a huge roster of characters. I feel like it's still a bit much though. It hurts the completionist part of me, because there are moments were I got bored of the strats/management parts of the game. Literally took me a few months to come back and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Befriend or Behead? That is the question. Jousting everyone to submission is a tactic I never knew I'd love so much. The ultimate power fantasy. Also ended up having to give up kingship to run away with Adelaide, worth it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I accidentally killed the youngest lord in my first playthrough of the game and was horrified by my mistake AND THEN IN MY NEXT PLAYTHROUGH I PURPOSELY AND MALICIOUSLY TRIED OFFING THE DUDE FOR DECIDING TO SIDE WITH MY RIVAL AGAIN BECAUSE I FORGOT TO GIVE HIM GIFTS TO KEEP HIM HAPPY SCREW YOU KID I ONLY BEFRIENDED YOU BECAUSE YOUR TERRITORY IS IN AN ADVANTAGEOUS LOCATION I NEVER LIKED YOU ANYWAY I started this game intending to woo the wolf man only to fall madly in love with a vampire dude…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I hate chancellor. i will marry and peg him for revenge and my own amusement. can i do that? I can right?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i'm beating everyone into submission and it's great. that said, the translation can be confusing at times. i get the feeling that a lot of them were translated out of context.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like how the characters had such variety. The challenges are simple with some strategy, yet done in a way that invites reasonable challenges. There were not too many stereotypes and there was originality. The only real tough part was managing money and finding the right paths to choose. And finding the right gifts takes trial and error. Out of all the date simulations, it centers well on story and a nice mix of topics that makes good stories without having to resort to cheap tactics like…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is brilliant. It's the perfect blend of otome and strategy. The learning curve is a bit steep but if you go to the Japanese Wiki pages and use Google translate, you can figure out a LOT. The routes haven't been formally translated to English, but the sheer volume of romance choices is amazing! For a game that came out in 2006, this is incredible. Basically, it's endlessly replayable because your choices give you quite a different experience, and you constantly get new content,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Suddenly one day this game was released. It feels like an old-fashioned (but still well-made) game and has some promising aspects. It's not addictive, but still a nice game to play sometimes. One thing should be noted beforehand: 1920×1080 resolution is required to play this game, else skip it. Pro: - Many Endings (I think for each character there exists an ending - though the impact is different) - Many loveable Characters - Character Stories are well integrated in the normal storyline. I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I did not expect such an old dating sim to have such deep game play. The diplomacy elements of the game are a core part; if you ignore them, you will lose the game. This game has consequences, and if you are looking for a laid-back experience, then this may not be the game for you. However, if you're in the mood for a diplomacy game with dating sim elements, then this is your game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoyed this game [also want reccomendations for games LIKE this] I have adhd and I love visual novels with some strategy or gameplay aspects, be it a schedule, tactics, or something else, with multiple routes. I was a little frustrated because it showed me the exact same scenes 5 times [no exaggeration] and I mean, at least 8 major scenes. It's a huge glitch that really made me mad, I thought the game was stuck of incomplete and that's why it kept looping, days later, they would…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you want a niche game from 2006, this is a great one to go with it. It does lack some features we take for granted in games now days, but at the same time, there's a certain depth of mystery that makes repeat playthroughs enjoyable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →出中文了真是万分感谢!顺便palais de royale 啥时候也发售下中文版?英文版也行! Looking forward to the fandisk Palais de Royale (if this is ever possible) --- Played a bit more, and decided to add some new and fresh feelings. I definitely recommend this game, like 99 out of 100. Though lots of texts, even the opening took me like more than an hour (I'm a slow reader, though). Highlight of the game, I think, is the way of building characters. Each character have distinct personalities and personal stories, for like 30-40…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game with interesting characters, a branching storyline depending on your decisions, and many romance options. It kind of reminds me of Long Live the Queen except with less raising sim (still some though) and more focus on strategy. Do keep in mind though that you can only play it on a monitor that is 1080p or greater (the assets are at 1080p and can be scaled up but not down). I have a 1366x768 resolution laptop so in order to play it I had to hook up my laptop to my TV. It was worth the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I just wanted to flirt with vessels pls no angry mobs 🥺🥺🥺
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun dating sim with interesting characters and an enjoyable strategy experience as well.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I definitely recommend the game. I've binge played it in a weekend and loved the immersion, the strategic challenge, the beautiful art as well as the characters and the humour in it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There seems to be lots of replayability if you are a completionist and want to unlock all scenes. Every character in the game has their own scenes and endings, on top of endings based off your actions and not who you choose to pursue. Unfortunately it seems that "scenes" or cgs are only unlocked after you get the characters end. It's also a confusing game at first without a guide... I'd still reccomend it if you wish to play an otome with actual gameplay mechanics.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beautiful art, delightful characters, fun little secrets and gameplay! Only downside is the English community isn't big so there's not much in the walkthrough department...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoyed both the story and the gameplay enough to play it more than once. This game is also highly replayeble since the story changes based on your choices and keeps you intrested even if you played it before. I have also seen many comments about it being bugged or virused but i havent had any issuses with it since buying it few days ago, even though i play on a newer pc which was listed as one of the things that might be causing the problems. Because of that i definitely recommend…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →1,000/10. I, in real life, want to be Walther's liege and wife. Seriously, though, this game is really fun and I can totally see myself revisiting it a lot in the future.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is no longer flagged as a virus so I'm playing again😆
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →SOOOO MANY PRETTY BOIISS!!! And it's reminds me of princess maker series a lot!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The story had a lot of potential, but it was rather choppy, confusing, and incomplete. At the end of the year, I felt like I had not accomplished anything. I never had the option to contract a knight besides the three I started with; it was always grayed out. All I could do was run my few knights around, trying win over a few of the lords, with not much time to summon them to develop a better relationship. And when I did have the opportunity to summon them, the summon option was grayed out.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a good game. It's just a pity that there's no real walthrough for all the characters out there! Each knight and each lord have a specific setting of things that you need, to reach them (like, a certain knight that you need to pick at the beginning; or, you need to have access to a gift that the merchants don't bring cause you dont have the right party; or, your Might went down because of something you said, and you need 5 might for that lord... so on) it gets hard to catch certain love…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →*Recommended - but tentatively Pros: Strategic gameplay, where you get to make small decisions (both based on character movement around a map, and dialogue options), that can add up to significant consequences and different endings. Good graphics and a fairly easy to use interface. Interesting character personalities and backstories that can be discovered. Well-written cutscenes and dialogues. Cons: It's hard to figure out how much each decision contributed to a specific outcome. While it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →How tf do you peg the chancellor I've been trying so hard to peg this ratty man so far I hooked up with vampire daddy, his son, and a ghost so i guess i'm enjoying the game? the game is pretty straight forward and fairly short, but there are plenty of contents that you cannot access through a single play. The sexism in this game is so rampant that it bothers me sometimes but other than that, i'd recommend it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The replay value is decent. There are lots of endings to either "lose" or "win". Although some of the game play will be predictable, there are a number of combinations that will change outcomes and add new storylines.
