neutral · AI labelView post →I just saw it has Maximum Overdrive! Go to the library to see the movie that could only be made by so much cocaine that production of it cannot be remembered
neutral · AI labelView post →My Summer of (Movie) Love series continues today with another sweaty, summer favorite of 1986 — MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE. I love it and make no apologies for that either. 😆 Open to free & paid subscribers: from-the-desk-of-the-horror-chick.ghost.io/summer-of-mo... Cheers! 🚛🚛🚛
positive · AI labelView post →MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE turns 40 today & earlier this week, I celebrated this sweat-drenched slice of summer horror in my Summer of (Movie) Love series. Please give it a read - it’s available to both free & paid subscribers: from-the-desk-of-the-horror-chick.ghost.io/summer-of-mo...

neutral · AI labelView post →The film ends with Barry’s band (Sonic Death Monkey/Kathleen Turner Overdrive/Barry Jive and the Uptown Five) performing Marvin Gaye’s Let’s Get It On. It was supposed to be Gaye’s Got To Give It Up, but Black thought the more famous song a better choice. 28/31
neutral · AI labelView post →No, you’re thinking of Maximum Overdrive. Such a sweet story and a movie than definitely doesn’t have even the faintest whiff of far too much cocaine.
neutral · AI labelView post →Anyway I always assume that the Cars movie were a post Maximum Overdrive apocalypse universe, and the cars were all being manufactured by a combination of automated factories and human slaves.

neutral · AI labelView post →Is there a supercut of nothing but clips of the specific bits of movies where a character says the name of the movie? Maybe @jamiroqueer.bsky.social has seen something like that? Context: watching MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE at the moment 🚚
neutral · AI labelView post →My boyfriend then turned it into a Stephen King double feature with Maximum Overdrive, which owns bones. I wish King's coked up negligence as a director didn't cost the cinematographer his eye because it makes this otherwise delightful film hard to recommend. Yes it's goofy, but it rocks!
positive · AI labelView post →Tell me you just watched Stephen King’s bonkers 1986 movie Maximum Overdrive without telling me you just watched Stephen King’s bonkers 1986 movie Maximum Overdrive.
neutral · AI labelView post →Y'know what #horror movie desperately needs a remake? How about "Maximum Overdrive" with #ArtificialIntelligence in place of the comet for the cause of the machine rebellion.
neutral · AI labelView post →Do i need to see the movie "Drive" in order understand the events of "Maximum Overdrive"?
neutral · AI labelView post →Gley Lancer: Overdrive - Trailer. Invidious: https://inv.nadeko.net/watch?v=cnpErr-Y9yw > Gley Lancer: Overdrive is being re-imagined for the Neo Geo as a loving salute to the original Mega Drive release. This new interpretation preserves the personality, energy, and ideas that made the original so memorable while drawing upon the Neo Geo’s distinctive audiovisual capabilities to present a fresh version of the game we know and love. Not perfect timing with the AES+ being delayed until next…
neutral · AI labelView post →Describing at least 5 Stephen King film adaptations to my Gen Alpha co-worker because they have no frame of reference for Thinner or Maximum Overdrive
neutral · AI labelView post →#3 Maximum Overdrive: Oh man, the film about machines and trucks coming to life. First (and only) time director Stephen King says he remembers nothing about making this movie because he was so high on cocaine the entire time. It’s completely illogical, chaotic and so spur of the moment… I love it!
positive · AI labelView post →In 1983, Stephen King was snorting a Bolivia worth of cocaine on a daily basis. He likely found many films boring. He then tried his hand at directing a movie in 1986 and made “Maximum Overdrive” which is hilariously awful.
neutral · AI labelView post →Is Maximum Overdrive a puppet movie? Show your work.
neutral · AI labelView post →Just watched Maximum Overdrive. I was VERY entertained. Its a silly bad movie that made me laugh a lot. \
positive · AI labelView post →Maximum Overdrive deserves more love and is one film that could be remade today with no changes. Imagine Teslas just suicide bombing buildings, missiles detonating in silos, and drones....so many drones.
neutral · AI labelView post →From the legendary Stephen King, the film Maximum Overdrive (awful film), but had this on the soundtrack 😁 youtu.be/PiZHNw1MtzI?...
neutral · AI labelView post →When I hear about the new adaptation of Carrie, or watch Kubrick's The Shining, I begin to understand why Stephen King at one point went, "you know, I'm not a movie director and I'll probably make a mess of it, but I'm going to direct Maximum Overdrive myself because I CLEARLY CAN'T TRUST YOU LOT!"
neutral · AI labelView post →Except Maximum Overdrive, the movie that "I just wanted someone to do Stephen King right." The only none Spider-man movie where Green Goblin is the main villain.
neutral · AI labelView post →did the obvious thing after watching Christine and watched the other Stephen King Evil Vehicle movie and watched Maximum Overdrive letterboxd.com/alexalily/fi...

neutral · AI labelView post →Hey! Want another hillbilly classic? MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE Lionsgate Movies generously uploaded the entire thing to their YouTube channel. It's trashy, it's set in North Carolina, and it was the only film adaptation of a Steven King story DIRECTED by King himself. It's awful and hillbillies love it.
neutral · AI labelView post →I'm pretty excited that I'll be recording an episode of my friend's podcast Horror 101 with Dr. AC as we're going to be talking Chopping Mall, Killer Party, Maximum Overdrive, TerrorVision and one of my all time favorite movies Night of the Creeps. 1986 was a big year for my taste in film.
neutral · AI labelView post →Moving on to MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE, a perfect film
positive · AI labelView post →I don’t want to believe this but at the Toronto Film Festival Q&A for his 1996 film Trees Lounge Buscemi admitted he didn’t know Bachman Turner Overdrive are Canadian
neutral · AI labelView post →Is he as bad as that Maximum Overdrive movie? 🖤🫂
neutral · AI labelView post →spooky season (18) - Maximum Overdrive (1986) - written and directed by STEPHEN KING (and cocaine) - machines take over the world and start killing people - this movie was so cheap the version I own on VHS is Extended Play to cut costs on tape

neutral · AI labelView post →Maximum Overdrive feels like an impossible era that could never come back alone. they gave an author *a movie*
neutral · AI labelView post →One of the many reasons I like the horror movie Maximum Overdrive is more than two characters survived the movie.
positive · AI labelView post →Watching Maximum Overdrive. I knew I was right to never trust those damn draw bridges 😂
positive · AI labelView post →The best kind, the reason the film Maximum Overdrive exists!
positive · AI labelView post →Remember the 80's film, Maximum Overdrive with Emilio Estevez? That's why I'll never get in owt self driving 😂
positive · AI labelView post →To be far, in a horror film that question might be answered with an audible, truthful, "Yes." Also, Maximum Overdrive becomes much more interesting if you recognize that's it's the first of a series followed by as yet unfilmed sequels that serve as the lead-in to the Cars universe.
neutral · AI labelView post →Whatever you do, don't watch the film adaptation of Trucks. I'm not talking about "Maximum Overdrive" - I'm talking about the literal adaptation called "Trucks". It's among the worst King adaptations ever!
negative · AI labelView post →You could cut and paste this scene from Maximum Overdrive into any Transformers movie and it would make as much sense as anything else going on.
neutral · AI labelView post →Local A&E reporter John Staton - @statonator.bsky.social - updating us on music used in movies/TV shot in ILM- "AC/DC did the whole soundtrack for 1986 Stephen King monster truck film 'Maximum Overdrive'. The resulting album, "Who Made Who," is better than anything in the movie." He's not wrong.
neutral · AI labelView post →Ever watch the 80s film Maximum Overdrive? Like that....
neutral · AI labelView post →It sounds to me like Brian Johnson's AC/DC vocals were sampled for part of the recurring attack theme of the sentient vehicles in the 1986 movie Maximum Overdrive. I can't find confirmation on this anywhere, but maybe @stephenking.bsky.social would know?

neutral · AI labelView post →Happy 79 to the Master of Fright Stephen King. Fo y’all have a favorite book or film adaptation? I’ll start the Stand for both but Maximum Overdrive is my go to comfort movie ~
positive · AI labelView post →Happy Birthday, Steve. Many wonderful memories with your novels and stories. Also, Maximum Overdrive is a very fun horror movie. A cult item for many. Embrace it already. No need to let it bring you down. You even got a decent performance out of Emilio Estevez, and that takes some skill.
positive · AI labelView post →- but it also never feels as committed to the nastiness to similar films like Maximum Overdrive or The Blob Also it's just such a total CGIfest! I think the film would have done better if they had at least put in a puppet or two, esp as its trying so hard to be a callback to 80s/90s films
neutral · AI labelView post →there's a 2012 Alain Resnais film, loosely based on two plays by Jean Anouilh, and named after a Bachman-Turner Overdrive song?
neutral · AI labelView post →In summary, "Who Made Who" not only serves as a catchy rock anthem but also encapsulates the central theme of "Maximum Overdrive," making it a memorable part of both the film and the band's discography.
neutral · AI labelView post →One early idea was to use all the trains. Another was to base it on the film Maximum Overdrive. I need to take a look at this again.
