The women are so poorly drawn (Nolan is infamous for this) and the dialogue is thumping and heavy-handed. His films have a reputation of being intellectual but they feel shallow to me!
negative · AI labelView post →I loved the movie OPPENHEIMER about the race to build that world-changing negotiation.
positive · AI labelView post →watching the making of feature on OPPENHEIMER and i’m struck by the sheer size of the 70mm film. basically the same size as what you’d find on a 120 roll!
neutral · AI labelView post →The movie is Christopher Nolan’s first since his Oscar-winning “Oppenheimer,” which was released in 2023 and garnered 50 million views on its trailer in 24 hours.
neutral · AI labelView post →What if Reze… but Oppenheimer? This was drawn live over on my twitch, probably my fav of all the movie crossovers! Prints are live now HERE
neutral · AI labelView post →‘SINNERS’ earns $33M in the film’s 3rd domestic weekend, a small 28% drop. It is also the 2nd biggest 3rd domestic weekend at the box office for a R-rated film, beating ‘Oppenheimer’ and ‘Joker’ Read our review: bit.ly/SinnersDF
neutral · AI labelView post →The Rock went and saw #Oppenheimer in IMAX and sat in the seat where Christopher Nolan sits "It was amazing. And I was thinking... Holy shit ... 'Red One' on this screen ... with this technology ... It's going to be game over" The film currently has a 37% on Rotten Tomatoes
neutral · AI labelView post →Perhaps an unpopular, but correct, opinion: THE ODYSSEY is a better movie than OPPENHEIMER. I respected Oppenheimer, more than I enjoyed it, whereas The Odyssey is actually blockbuster entertainment. Both are excellent films.
neutral · AI labelView post →Christopher Nolan was reportedly interested in directing a James Bond movie after doing #Tenet but he wouldn't have gotten a say on the film’s final cut He went and directed #Oppenheimer instead (via Variety)
neutral · AI labelView post →Do you like movies? Me too! I've got a daily movie challenge for you - 10 days of favorite Oscar winners (films that won best picture). Post a GIF from the movie! If you are reading this you have been challenged. Do you accept? Day 4: Oppenheimer
neutral · AI labelView post →The Rock says when he went to see ‘OPPENHEIMER’ in IMAX, he chose to sit in the same seat that Christopher Nolan uses to watch his films. “I was thinking... Holy shit ‘Red One’ on this screen with this technology... It's gonna be game over” The film has 36% on Rotten Tomatoes
neutral · AI labelView post →One thing I find fascinating about both the Oppenheimer and Killers of the Flower Moon discourses is how they're both so often centered on viewers seeing a film be something other than they want it to be, then thinking the storytelling choice the movie made was wrong, rather than ineffective.
neutral · AI labelView post →They should make a movie like Oppenheimer about the guy who invented this thing
neutral · AI labelView post →now that i have seen OPPENHEIMER i am truly baffled by the discourse that this movie was somehow a whitewash of the guy
positive · AI labelView post →The minions work for Gru! He is not even the most evil person in any of the Despicable Me films! This piece of lore is clearly wrong; the minions just work for whoever has the most dangerously slapstick gadgets. Oppenheimer is the missing movie in the Minions franchise.
neutral · AI labelView post →Watching "Heartbreak Ridge," a Clint Eastwood movie about the invasion of Grenada (and being surly with marines) that nobody has talked about in a decade. Adjusted for inflation, it was a bigger box office hit than "Oppenheimer."
neutral · AI labelView post →Thanks and yeah.... I'd written: it felt as with his 2024 film Oppenheimer that he had dutifully stuffed lots of incidents from the life of his protagonist into a film that is epic at least in length, but without fully grasping or conveying what these things mean.
negative · AI labelView post →‘MICHAEL’ has become the highest grossing biopic of all time, passing ‘OPPENHEIMER’. The film will also pass $1 billion worldwide.
neutral · AI labelView post →Thinking about the time I posted a question twitter aimed at physicists. I wanted to know what *physicists* thought of the film Oppenheimer. And the post went viral because The Film Crowd was Very Upset that someone thought physicists were entitled to have an opinion It was ... gross
neutral · AI labelView post →anyway go see One Battle After Another in a movie theater, I know we said this about Oppenheimer but I mean it for real with this one, there are cinematographic and audio mixing things that are essential to the experience and you won't get it at home
positive · AI labelView post →I did something crazy today. I found a movie on cable with commercials and just watched it. If you thought EVERY white man was in Oppenheimer, you should watch Pearl Harbor. It has every white man AND Cuba Gooding Jr.
neutral · AI labelView post →mfer made a movie about Oppenheimer and actually took away the right things, this dude out there being thoughtful
positive · AI labelView post →Oppenheimer, the universally relatable film about being left-wing enough that the government singles you out for persecution but not left wing enough that you can get laid at a party without being told to read theory
neutral · AI labelView post →Christopher Nolan says ‘THE ODYSSEY’ has a shorter runtime than ‘OPPENHEIMER’. “It’s an epic film, as the subject demands. But it is shorter.” (Source: apnews.com/article/summ...)
neutral · AI labelView post →This reminds me of the time when I asked physics twitter whether anyone liked Oppenheimer and based on that single question, film bro twitter had an aneurysm about how physicists don’t understand film
neutral · AI labelView post →Oppenheimer is a fascinating movie to me because it has a problem that I personally like to still figure out: when you have so much music made, the question is, when do you shut the fuck up and let the picture talk? Cuz in Oppenheimer, it really only shuts up once, and I think that isn't enough
neutral · AI labelView post →Christopher Nolan confirms 'The Odyssey' will be shorter than 'Oppenheimer' ⚔️ “It’s an epic film, as the subject matter demands. But it is shorter" (via AP News)
neutral · AI labelView post →seeing Oppenheimer on 70mm. 3pm on a Sunday. the most dad time possible to screen the movie. they should take all the seats out of the theatre so that the dads can all stand like this for three hours.
neutral · AI labelView post →Not my favorite Nolan film but I’m biased as a history nerd in favor of Dunkirk and Oppenheimer but still vintage imo, 10/10 recommend
positive · AI labelView post →Is there a club for people who didn’t like the movie Oppenheimer? I’m only 40 minutes in but I’d like to pre-apply
unlabelledView post →Sean Penn winning best supporting actor for a film he is not even the best supporting actor in is like Robert Downey Jr winning best supporting actor for a v thin role in Oppenheimer, the moment you go 'yeah, I just feel like I know what film is ultimately winning this'.
unlabelledView post →"Sorry Liz, I can't stay late, I'm in a production of Hamnet" "Hamlet? By Shakespeare?" "HamNet by Chloé Zao. She did that superhero movie about how hiroshima was blown up by the gays. Oppenheimer."
unlabelledView post →Pressure Another good film, like Oppenheimer and The Imitation Game, about how geekery won the Second World War. Satisfying geek service for geeks. Now just need a rousing movie about the Dowding System.
unlabelledView post →"Oppenheimer" is a Christmas movie.
unlabelledView post →Never thought I’d recommend this movie to anyone but maybe Slotkin should watch Oppenheimer. Something is better than nothing
unlabelledView post →@ashleystclair.bsky.social on racist Stephen Miller, who wanted "White Boy November - the Revenge of the Kens!" in 2024. Also, these freaks saw OPPENHEIMER as an aspirational movie for an AI nuke.
unlabelledView post →Twin Peaks: The Return Episode 8 is a better film about the atomic bomb than Oppenheimer
unlabelledView post →Oppenheimer was the third highest grossing movie of 2023 and remains the 53rd highest grossing movie of all time. I get that he doesn't read books. But, like, surely he saw three movies last year.
unlabelledView post →Yes, the children, whose last huge film craze was watching Barbie and Oppenheimer back to back, have no ability to sit still. This is not an issue of quality.
unlabelledView post →Maybe I’d enjoy the movie more if I thought this but I just think it’s a radical overstatement tbh. I think the movie is kinda agnostic on Oppenheimer, personally
unlabelledView post →Every Christopher Nolan movie is required to have one very forced line like this. In Oppenheimer, it was the title character’s mistress getting him, mid-coitus, to translate a sentence from Hindu scripture that just happens to be the line Oppenheimer famously quoted in real life years later.
unlabelledView post →tempting but incorrect analysis ; actually Oppenheimer is avant garde experimental film about how emaciated you can make Cillian Murphy before people stop considering him hot
unlabelledView post →“Nolan’s next movie should be Moby Dick” “Nolan’s next movie should be the helicopter movie” Haven’t you guessed by now? His next movie will be Oppenheimer
unlabelledView post →Old man at coffeeshop summarizing the film Oppenheimer for one of the kids working here, but he keeps calling the main character “Oppenheiser.”
unlabelledView post →Christopher Nolan is sticking with Oppenheimer distributor Universal Pictures for his next film and Matt Damon is in talks to star, according to Deadline. bit.ly/4ez8A2Y
unlabelledView post →It's rare to see a film as brilliant & entertaining as The End by Joshua Oppenheimer erased so effectively from western culture. The Voice of Hind Rajab comes to mind. But it did get an Oscar nom. The End is a big, visually stunning musical with Hollywood stars. And almost no one knows it exists.
unlabelledView post →Very rare box art from the 1991 Oppenheimer movie tie in game for Game Boy.
unlabelledView post →A Breaking Bad, Barbie, and Oppenheimer crossover movie where Walter, Barbie, and Robert team up to cure cancer: Breaking Barbenheimer.
unlabelledView post →Guillermo Del Toro saw some audiences somehow didn't realize Oppenheimer was a movie about doing a bad thing, and out of the kindness of his heart, he made a Frankenstein movie just for them.

unlabelledView post →People not understanding this reminds me of the people who claimed the Oppenheimer film glorified nuclear weapons
unlabelledView post →Oppenheimer is on Netflix. Finally we can watch the movie as Nolan intended...on my phone in 20 mins intervals over the period of a week or so.
unlabelledView post →The entire film “Oppenheimer” has now been available on Twitter long enough to watch the entire film “Oppenheimer,” plus an hour.
unlabelledView post →....it's important to point out that Oppenheimer in the movie is a fictional character, not a real person, as are the protagonists of all biopics. But that mentality is really instructive. Oppenheimer in the movie is truly a strange man, a sort of gormless cousin of Gendo Ikari without any drive
unlabelledView post →Oppenheimer would have been considered a completely bang average film if it hadn't been released the same day as the Barbie Movie.
unlabelledView post →They should make an Oppenheimer style movie about whoever invented weaponized therapy speak
unlabelledView post →Guy who has only seen Oppenheimer, watching his second movie: Getting a lot of 'Oppenheimer' vibes from this...
unlabelledView post →Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer film was a slow, boring, action-less trudge with a cast of 42 (literally -- see the cast list) interchangeable older white dudes. Not to mention the adolescent, gratuitous breast shots that had no relevance to the story. Truly terrible film.
unlabelledView post →Who is the real Oppenheimer in the movie? It's a man who casually drops his children off and forgets about them. It's a man who cries self-pitying tears when his sidepiece dies and has to be dragged by his humiliated wife back to work
