Nanny McPhee
Widower Cedric Brown hires Nanny McPhee to care for his seven rambunctious children, who have chased away all previous nannies. Taunted by Simon and his siblings, Nanny McPhee uses mystical powers to instill discipline. And when the children's great-aunt and benefactor, Lady Adelaide Stitch, threatens to separate the kids, the family pulls together under the guidance of Nanny McPhee. From TMDB

53 of 53 · most liked firstI <3 Emma Thompson. Brilliant in 'Good Luck To You, Leo Grande' and 'Sense and Sensibility' but - and I'm willing to fight you here - 'Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang' with Maggie Gyllenhaal is her most enjoyable movie. I fucking love that film. I cried like a baby.

Oh, and Juntao!!! youtu.be/04ZYTB2ZXVc?...

unlabelledView post →Welcome. Often pick it up & open to a random page. Did that the other day & the word was collywobbles. In the movie, Nanny McPhee Returns, she uses that word when she speaks to Mr. Edelweiss (the bird), telling him he gets the collywobbles when he eats too much putty. Only time I've heard it. ☺️

With that said, Nanny McPhee is the most delightfully British film since bloody everything Wallace & Gromit related.

unlabelledView post →On a recent road trip we listened to Emma Thompson’s Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang. In the audiobook Thompson mixes her print story with a “diary” of the movie version that in part describes how movies are made. For me it was very educational.
