The developers felt it was their right to remove the ability to play without the anti-cheat software (nProtect GameGuard), they have a setting for this on the server which is now apparently decorative because it doesn't do anything. Sorry, I don't trust giving kernel level access to a game from China, but thanks for asking.

But after returning to the game I've noticed how terrible its gotten. There are only usually 500-2k players on at any given time. The market is dead, the lag is horrible and the advanced clans have blocked off the late game materials on the pve servers so there is no real progression....

Guilds have stats, and these matter more than personal stats. A player from a big guild will 1 shot a friendgroup guild from across the map.
