My Cousin Vinny
Two carefree pals traveling through rural Alabama on their way back to college are mistakenly arrested and charged with murder. Fortunately, one of them has a cousin who's a lawyer - Vincent Gambini, a former auto mechanic from Brooklyn who has just passed his bar exam after his sixth try. When he arrives with his leather-clad girlfriend to try his first case, it's a real shock - for him and the Deep South! From TMDB

unlabelledView post →***MY COUSIN VINNY LIVE-TWEET: THE RULES*** This lecture explores the cinematic classic 'My Cousin Vinny' through the lens of English and Welsh law. Contributions and observations are welcome, but I'm perfectly prepared to tweet the entire film to a wall of embarrassed silence.
unlabelledView post →Oh, Presumption of Innocence - Harrison Ford and Raul Julia. Great movie. I understand that the movies depict the practice of law as well as they do history. The exception is My Cousin Vinny, whose director and screenwriter were both lawyers - they were scrupulous about the portrayal. #hatm
unlabelledView post →Watching My Cousin Vinny for the first time. They used to talk about this movie all the time to us mock trial students, to the point where I put off watching it because I was so tired of hearing about it
unlabelledView post →Just watched My Cousin Vinny for the first time in probably 25 years. Extremely fun movie. Pesci and Tomei are great but it’s also loaded with character actor ringers. Fred Gwynne! Lane Smith! James Rebhorn! Maury Chaykin! It’s so much fun.

unlabelledView post →egg🎞️irl. Description: A screenshot of a review of the movie "My Cousin Vinny". The review is dated Nov 26, 2020. It says: "I'm a man who is very content with his gender identity, but I must admit there's part of me that wants nothing more than to literally *be* Marisa Tomei in this movie and wear all those delightful leather jackets and backless catsuits while talking in that New York accent." Underneath is a "2026 edit" which says: hahaha. oh sweet girl. i guess the signs were all there."
unlabelledView post →Coyote vs. Acme is the best legal film since Legally Blonde, possibly the best since My Cousin Vinny, and every lawyer needs to see it. I expect a @barristersecret.bsky.social thread and a @davidallengreen.bsky.social article as soon as is convenient. #coyotevsacme

unlabelledView post →Finally got around to watching My Cousin Vinny. What an absolutely delightful film.
unlabelledView post →My Cousin Vinny is a movie with a shocking amount of nuance, wit, and charm. It's a damn fine movie. Joe Pesci and Marissa Tomei steal the show.
unlabelledView post →My lukewarm take: The last 20 minutes of My Cousin Vinny are as rewatchable as just about any stretch of any movie ever made. I must have seen it 150 times. Never misses.
unlabelledView post →Also, FWIW - My Cousin Vinny is such a great lawyer film that it's not uncommon for clips to be used in law school. And mostly not as "really really don't do that" illustrations. There's really good courtroom advocacy in there.
unlabelledView post →Which actor completely stole the movie... even though they weren't the lead? Marisa Tomei in My Cousin Vinny 🖤
unlabelledView post →I’ve heard lawyers say My Cousin Vinny is the most accurate legal movie and med professionals say Scrubs is the most accurate medical show. And that should teach us all a lesson. I’m not sure what, but something.
unlabelledView post →Any fans of the 1992 movie My Cousin Vinny?
unlabelledView post →Democrats need to study the hell out of My Cousin Vinny and embrace their inner Joe Pesci from that movie. Keep things simple and direct, right to the point. They lose people by talking too much or doing too much explaining.
unlabelledView post →Tbh if you like Ace Attorney you should watch My Cousin Vinny at least once. I love that movie
unlabelledView post →The problem with movie people is that if you offhandedly mention that you haven’t seen a movie, the clock starts ticking on when you get to watch said movie. Anyway, I guess I’m watching My Cousin Vinny.
unlabelledView post →The pink Le Clic Disc Camera from My Cousin Vinny is the unsung hero of the film.
unlabelledView post →The hacking scene in the Matrix sequel is actually pretty accurate. “My Cousin Vinny” is almost entirely realistic as far as the courtroom scenes. A mobster reported that Joe Pesci generally plays a very accurate gangster when he plays a gangster in movies. Most of the time, he’s this weirdly dark violent loose cannon outlier, because they can’t just make every character a psychopath and have people enjoy watching the movie, but he’s the one that is playing the role accurately. When “King of…

unlabelledView post →Tonight’s Film Selection🎬🎞️🎥: Going with some classic comedy tonight. “My Cousin Vinny” has an amazing performance by Joe Pesci that was totally one-upped by Marisa Tomei’s Oscar winning performance. It was also great to see the late Fred (Herman Munster) Gwynne one last time.

unlabelledView post →Happy #LetterboxdFriday! Wayne's World - Not all of it worked for me, but it was a fun film regardless. My Cousin Vinny - This hit a lot better for me and the scene with Moba Lisa taking the stand rocked A Few Good Men - Pacing issues and the initial Tom Cruise shtick aside, this was very solid.

Kinda wish she coulda gone full “hyper competent casual sass” a la My Cousin Vinny *positraction*, but oh well. Honestly? My expectations were on the floor and I enjoyed the film!
unlabelledView post →My Cousin Vinny was a perfectly cat t film. And the courtroom scenes are particularly amazing because it's Joe and a set of actors he can play against while building their characters.
