Music and Lyrics
A washed-up '80s pop star gets a chance at a comeback when reigning pop diva Cora Corman invites him to write & record a duet with her, but there's a problem--Alex hasn't written a song in years; he's never written lyrics and he has to come up with a hit in a matter of days. From TMDB

neutral · AI labelView post →Watched "Power Ballad" Think "Music and Lyrics" meets "The Wedding Singer" A cute, sweet, and very small film, which makes it that much better. #scriptsky
neutral · AI labelView post →I don’t know if this counts, or if this song was on any charts, but this was an 80s song written for the movie Music and Lyrics that was better than a lot of real 80s songs… youtu.be/xVkU8dDSC9w?...

neutral · AI labelView post →A great film that gets overlooked. Marc Lawrence was hit and miss but this and Music and Lyrics are two of the best screenplays about the business ever.

neutral · AI labelView post →Tonight's movie is Music and Lyrics, a classic mid-2000s Hugh Grant rom-com that's got a catchy 80s-style soundtrack and always makes me smile. Drew Barrymore is just adorable too! Check out my review below. Spoilers are very very light. #movies #HughGrant

neutral · AI labelView post →Both fantastic, but my go-to feel-good Hugh Grant movie will always be Music and Lyrics. The soundtrack is phenomenal and his portrayal of a washed-up 80’s pop star is pitch perfect. :D
positive · AI labelView post →I watched Music and Lyrics last night because that ridiculous 80s music video and Pop-Up video treatment make me laugh every time even if the movie is pretty mid.
neutral · AI labelView post →Music and Lyrics is such a fun film. Somewhere down the line hopefully I'll do a ReScreen episode on it
positive · AI labelView post →Neither this nor “Music and Lyrics” (coincidentally another 2007 film!) had any business having such well crafted songs but damn if I’m not glad that they do #Comedon #WalkHard #MusicAndLyrics
neutral · AI labelView post →I used to tell people "if you're watching a movie about a band and the fake hit is good enough to be a real hit, that's Schlessinger" That Thing You Do!, Music and Lyrics, a little Josie and the Pussycats, just an unreal track record And frankly I think he was JUST starting to really soar post-CXG

neutral · AI labelView post →Is it very bad to admit that if Taylor Swift was in a line up, I wouldn't have a clue who she is? In my head she looks like the popstar from the film Music and Lyrics. No idea if this is accurate or fair
neutral · AI labelView post →Anyway I wish I enjoyed Drew Barrymore's performances more because Music and Lyrics is otherwise a lovely, if less raunchy and more sincere, movie with only bog-standard cast indiscretions.
positive · AI labelView post →Good Morning Jean! 🌞 Thank you. 🙂 A few years ago, I was on YouTube searching for the song Way Back into Love from the movie Music and Lyrics. Different songs popped up. When I saw Sarah's song, I thought it was a cover and listened to it. I instantly fell in love with her song after hearing it. 🥰
neutral · AI labelView post →Sounds straight out of 2007's "Music and Lyrics" (a movie I love) but not in a good way 😂
positive · AI labelView post →Ooh I liked this one. Was weird seeing the ditzy Britney knock-off from Music And Lyrics play a weightier role, but she totally had the chops for it, really good lowkey unsettling movie

About 15 minutes in, she excused herself to the restroom and then sent me a text saying she was going home. I got up and left. Wish she would have told me earlier
neutral · AI labelView post →For some reason (maybe to get the vibes) I have been listening to the official soundtrack to "Music and Lyrics" and laughing out loud when I remembered Hugh Grant's music video. Love the vibes in this movie!

neutral · AI labelView post →That is a really hard one. I hear of lot of instrumental versions of songs and usually love them as much. But, at the same time find it hard not to hear the lyrics in my head. For me music and lyrics are so intertwined. (now I want to watch the film Music and Lyrics)
neutral · AI labelView post →Last night we watched Music and Lyrics which is one of my favourites. When I am feeling low I like a romcom or a brainless action film.
positive · AI labelView post →Thanks, that’ll be stuck in my head for a bit now. 😂 It’s hilarious how that sounds like it could’ve been a popular song back in the day. Reminds me of the movie Music and Lyrics. It had some good fake hit songs too. 😝 youtu.be/xVkU8dDSC9w?...

neutral · AI labelView post →“The Weary Kind” from Crazy Heart comes close (it’s wonderful song, but probably wouldn’t have been a big hit) “Falling Slowly” from Once is a genuinely great song that is recognized as such in the movie “Way Back Into Love” from Music and Lyrics is pretty close, if recorded by real pop stars
neutral · AI labelView post →that Music and Lyrics movie gave it a shot but didn’t quite pull it off.
negative · AI labelView post →There'll be people who hate the genre, but your question was specifically "Was this good enough to be a hit?" and, in the case of this song created for the movie "Music And Lyrics" in 2007, sung by High Grant, the answer is undoubtedly yes. www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPyZ...
