☢️#58. Mortal Engines, 2018. Cannibalistic mobile fortress-cities battle across a #postapocalyptic landscape. Gloriously silly #steampunk fun until bogged down with relentless exposition and thinly drawn characters. Though I did enjoy #DoombotDad. #sogooditsbad 2.5/5 ☢️
It’s fair to say I’m *a bit* excited to have been sent a copy of Bridge of Storms by @philipreeve1, the latest offering from the world of #MortalEngines. Out today for middle grade readers, the most enormous thanks go to @scholasticuk
Congratulations, Philip!!! #MortalEngines 🥳⚙️
#MortalEngines was a terrible post-apocalyptic, steampunk shitepile movie advertised as "from the filmmakers of The Lord of The Rings" but it was't really, it was made by a first time director. I imagine this is one of the many reasons why this was such a financial disaster.
#Bales2025FilmChallenge Feb 24: movie about technology. In the steampunk-y MORTAL ENGINES (2018), the desolate earth is roamed by entire cities set on giant treads. Too bad the movie’s gas runs out and wanders down meaningless passages…
This is super exciting - a new #MortalEngines #book from @philipreeve1 🤩🎉👇 #NewBook #mustread #preorder #amreading
There’s a new Mortal Engines novel coming next year: Bridge of Storms: philipreeveblog.blogspot.com/2025/08/bridge… #BridgeOfStorms @scholasticuk
