And apart from Aster’s Midsommar (2019) and Glazer’s Under the Skin (2013), not a one has been a good film. The Bride? Incoherent and juvenile mess. The Substance? On-the-nose tiresome body horror Cronenberg would have done better and less obviously. Pearl and Maxxxine? Great Show more
‘Midsommar’ (2019) ending when Dani is absorbed by trauma, not escaping it, smiling as her old world burns. Even the actress said the movie led to six months of depression because she abused herself.
