Okay, so the short campaign? Fantastic. Not worth $40, but still a very solid experience. But how the devs have treated the game post-launch? Wow... They launched New Game + like a month ago, but the update wiped everyone's save data. (The game started saving in a different folder, so not deleted data, but if you didn't know to look for it (and how would you), it's gone.) So they roll the patch back. Okay, mistakes happen, whatever. Then the devs go radio silent for nearly a month, not…

Not sure if it was eventually fixed or not, I've played the game on release and haven't opened it since. It is not the bugs I have issues with, nor the gameplay cons. As of moment I'm writing this review, I have discovered that the game had written a 6.9 GB log throughout the entire playthrough of 6.1 hours with the same error duplicated over and over concerning weapon class objects. Unable to find DefaultAttributeSet Group <weapon name>. Skipping. That error was logged every single frame and…

Metal Eden – A Real Campaign Game in a Sea of Roguelike Turds Metal Eden feels like a throwback in the best way. In a market flooded with roguelike “pick three upgrades” loops and gated content, this is a full, start-to-finish campaign. No paywalled levels. No hidden progression traps. Just a focused, linear experience split into roughly nine missions with strong pacing. After finishing the game, you can freely replay missions, which actually feels rewarding because your build carries weight.…

This one is for FPS fans, fast paced, lots of shooting and fun gameplay loop. No filler side quest bs, straight balls to wall action with banger music. Short and sweet. Impressed. 8.5/10

When people say this game is short, they really mean it. I finished Metal Eden on Normal in about five hours, and my problem isn’t just that it’s short — it’s that even at 50% off, I still feel like I got ripped off. The 50% discount honestly feels like it should be the base price, and then another 50% off is where the game’s five-hour runtime would actually feel worth it. There are other problems. There are only about six or seven distinct enemy types across the entire five hours of gameplay.…

A lot of achievements are bugged. The developers don't seem to care about that and don't communicate. So if you're like me and have OCD when it comes to completion, I wouldn't recommend this game.

That's Metal Eden compromised over 10 fuckin' lines of dialogue. Another game I loved the demo for, now gone from the wishlist. Christ, man. Turn yer mic on and drop a filter over the audio. Less than an hour's work.

It's okay... but there is not much of it. The game tries to approximate Doom Eternal and does a pretty decent job of it, except combat system is scuffed because the moment armored enemies become the majority (which is VERY early on) half your guns become useless. Plus the combat encounters get stale fast because you have like 10 shooty armored guys, a tripod, and an angry armored dude... except with a staff. Visuals are fantastic, plot is mediocre but VAs do a fun job hamming it up. On…

An ok game idea but don't expect it to run smoothly. Frequent crashes and corrupted saves made this a pain to play through. I even had to restart about 2/3rds of the way through due to a save error. Even if it didn't crash, the controls frequently lagged in response or wouldn't respond at all. Bugs with audio being stuck in a loop or guns just not functioning in their secondary mode would lead to some frustrating moments. It's interesting for about the first half of the game and the game…

I liked this game, it was a fun albeit short little Doom-esque shooter and I wish i could give this a thumbs up. However the game has several bugs that the devs never fixed. They have gone completely silent on the issue. New Game+ is even broken and cannot be played beyond the first two levels as a door that is supposed to open never unlocks. Beyond that, it has achievement bugs and over time creates massive log files on your hard drive. The game is in a playable state, but not much else…

Oh yeah, if any of you have been enjoying Sprawl Zero or the original Sprawl, Metal Eden (by the Ruiner devs) is basically the game that exists at the intersection of those two. Wall-running AND bit smashy powers. It is also *very* pretty and only £4 right now.

Solid game. Nice aesthetic - very easy on the eyes. Good gunplay and movement. Great soundtrack to go along with gunning down enemies through linear maps. It is a fairly short game with only one game mode and a new game +. Small issue with ledging where it looks like you teleport up there sometimes if you land too low. The final fight for me was bugged pretty badly to where the boss wouldn't take any damage after a certain phase, but it worked after restarting a few times. Couldn't make heads…

A 5h long campaing featuring a doom2016-like fast paced gameplay. Pretty good game, story is meh but gameplay is good enough. Play it once and you'll certainly leave a positive review. Having said that, NG+ doesn't work. You get stuck early in the game and can't proceed. I wish I could give this a positive review, but the issue is gamebreaking. I wanted to farm achievements after completing the game (since I liked it) but now I just can't be bothered to care anymore.

I'm very impressed with this game. If I had to describe it in one sentence- it's DOOM in the Cyberpunk 2077 world. And I mean that in the best possible way. Fast paced action with a variety of guns and pickups, surrounded by beautiful graphics. Did I mention parkour combat? I ran it on my mid-range system at Ultra in 2K and didn't have a single stutter. Two thumbs up!

Oh, sweet, Metal Eden added a NG+ mode with tougher fights. My only real issue with that game is that it's short and you don't really get much time to play around with a fully upgraded arsenal. Or even fully upgrade it at all. There's a 40% discount up for the next couple days too.

As much as I love the Ruiner franchaise, I'd have to give a lukewarm positive to this game. Visually, the game is stunning; however the gameplay is linear and cumbersome, and the story...... oooh the story is as long and convoluted as this run on sentence. Achievement bugs, skill buttons freezing bugs, UI clutter, and a jarring map layout are few of the many grievances to list. Subtle hints to the Ruiner universe are the callbacks to various names to the game: Heaven, Rengok, Hanza,…

I like it. But the vibes don't quite reach the levels of Ruiner. The music is by default unfortunately quiet compared to SFX. Text has some wierd phrasing here and there. (Vulcan is sometimes called "Planet Vulcan" sometimes "The Vulcan", several upgrade descriptions feature broken english: "it got small cooldown" for example.) The art and gameplay is god-tier. With just a couple drawbacks. Passive weapon reloads should not be an upgrade, but just get that ASAP and the game works much…

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this game. The gameplay itself is decent but there are constant micro-stutters happening while traversing the levels and during fights. My PC easily reaches well above 100 fps on high settings but the frequent stutters / frame time spikes make it feel significantly worse. Changing the settings does not seem to fix it either. It may be an engine optimization issue, and since the game is running on UE5 this would not be surprising.

There's many flaws in this game but I think for the asking price, it's a good time. I don't think this is a $40 game as it was released as and the dev/pub seems to agree as they've lowered the price to $20. It's also a short romp at only 4-5 hours. This game is an unpolished mashup of Doom Eternal and Ghostrunner 2. They took the aesthetics, parkour, slow mo, and grapple points from Ghostrunner 2 and they took the gunplay, upgrades, and skills from Doom Eternal. I have a lot of complaints about…

Its a short, very linear boomer shooter with some interesting gameplay mechanics and fun combat. The story is nonsensical toward the end and has some cringe dialogue that doesn't fit the setting at all though. Sound design and ambient music is very good and reminded me of Doom 2016. Nice visuals and decent first person shooting and controls with a cyber-sci-fi nonsensical story. A little bit Ghostrunner, a little bit DOOM 2016 and while not as tight and polished as either, still has some frenetic and fast combat, interspersed with some tight platforming. It's also quite short and you can tell there was a LOT of cut content, likely due to Reikon Games' financial issues. At $25USD, it's a damn fun 5 hours or so, plus it's an Unreal Engine 5 game that actually runs well!

Metal Eden is basically a blend of Quake III, Doom Eternal, and Ghostrunner. It inherited frenetic arena combat from the first two, requiring non-stop movement, precise aiming, and weapon-juggling. Meanwhile, Ghostrunner inspired its cyberpunk style and parkour platforming sequences. Combat heavy focuses on verticality and non-stop motion.
