Developer CAPCOM CO., LTD.

It compiles all four games in the Mega Man Zero series, originally released between 2002 and 2005 for the Game Boy Advance, along with both entries in its sequel series Mega Man ZX, originally released between 2006 and 2007 for the Nintendo DS. Like other Mega Man Legacy Collection entries, it also includes various… From Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0)

Anyone who wants these games probably already has this Collection and those who dont are good with this too, so thats not what the Negative is for. The Negative is for Capcom being so incredibly petty that they remove all mention of the original developers who made every game in this Collection. Imagine…

I will never buy any games with Denuvo or The Enigma Protector as they aren't necessary at all. I only own this game because I bought it through Fanatical via build your own bundle and got it for cheap ($18.99 with Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 and 2) and…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →you can customize the buttons as you wish, don't listen to the negative reviews. just load the game, go to options, and choose custom, then you can change inputs as you want. Games are fun, but Zero 1 and 2 are grindy, which sucks

unlabelledView post →I feel kinda sad about not recommending this collection because Mega Man is one of my favorite franchises of all time. However, I have to tell that this port is simply disappointing, especially if you're playing on modest hardware... These are supposed to be Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS games, I can't grasp how they run so badly. Wouldn't be that much of a problem if we could at least extract the games so we can legally play it on a Nintendo DS system, but that's not possible. The games…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →All 6 games here are very good, some of my favorite Mega Man games of all time. (ZX especially, helped me a lot in life)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fix the Launcher.... Like HOW..... HOW IS IT that you tell the game to open off screen and don't let the player move the window....
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A series of decades-old games, uploaded with minimal effort, and with shady Russian DRM added after the initial release. Avoid like a scorpion-infested jockstrap.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm really conflicted about how to rate this collection, all the games are flawed, but the save assist helps a lot. Both series get progressively better, but they are not good, here are some points about all the games Zero 1 - This game is terribly hard without the save assist, there are limited lives and you can fail a mission and just miss stuff - You have to spam you attacks to level up, if you don't know this you wont get through the first boss Zero 2 - The fairy system is weird, the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →9/10 - A proper collection with great games. Mega Man Zero/ZX Collection is a great package. Not only does it contain all of the Zero and ZX games in a single place without splitting into two games, the challenge mode it has is actually quite enjoyable, being a nice addition to the collection, without overstaying its welcome. The Zero series is amazing, it takes what it was good from the X series and dials it up to 11. Story wise, we actually have a narrative this time around, and it's well…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Zero games are probably the greatest line of Mega Man games. Fun, difficult, and an amazing story. It feels great after having played the Classic and the X games, as the gameplay feels like it evolved with each new series. The ZX games take it in another direction by giving us something similar to a metroidvania. Unfortunately there are only two of them, and while they were good I don't see the enjoyment I found in the other games. The ZX games did get me into playing metroidvanias, so I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have completed the majority of the zero collection games on my DS for S rank, While I do appreciate the challenge again, honestly its not as easy to navigate the game without the original console in your hands opposed to a controller. I wish the casual mode was not actually a decrease in difficulty of the game, but rather gave you the elemental chips and effect chips despite what rank you achieved on your play through. This would make much more sense. Its much easier to just pick up my old…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My first review for an outlet was Skylanders Giants on Wii, which I reviewed back when I was at Nintendojo in 2012. My first for ComicBook seems to be Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection in 2020. Had to look both those up, because I did NOT remember 😅

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My Steam playtime may appear low, as I originally played and completed this collection on Nintendo Switch. I later repurchased the game on Steam, which is why my recorded hours here don’t fully reflect my experience with it. Mega Man Zero / ZX Legacy Collection — A High-Skill, High-Emotion Era of Mega Man The Mega Man Zero / ZX Legacy Collection is a fantastic way to experience one of the most mechanically demanding and emotionally resonant eras of the Mega Man franchise. Across these games,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Play this series, or at least the Zero games, with save assist on. The original experience gives no thought to quality of life and I cannot recommend playing them in the modern day and age like that.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Doesn't support full controller remap. Or full keyboard remap.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Megaman zero is only in Japanese no matter what you do in the settings. You cannot change the really bad controls to what you want.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Probably best if you are a fan of the series or wanted to try it. I have always been a big fan of some of the OG Mega Man games, and playing this collection was nostalgic. I would recommend anybody to find a way to play these games, one way or another. That said, porting of the games in this collection feels a bit clunky though. There are only limited set of keys that can be remapped when using a keyboard, which is pretty bizarre in modern times. This is even worse with the DS games (ZX and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Suprisingly I founded these games more enjoyable and was more ivested in that in original mega man games. Not to cast a shadow on Mega man previous games but legit Mega man Zero/ZX franchise is superior to other games mainly because how engaging and how skilled prepared you need to be for them. The key feature is fun gameplay here and I heartily say these games exels into another level. Movement are more fluid, combat is more redefined and actually makes you learn and proceed. Bosses are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Zero series is perfect, pure cinema. If you like 2D platformers, you have to buy it. I can assure you that these games are way more consistent than the X series. Seriously, they're the best platformers I've ever played. The story is great, the bosses are fantastic, and the level design is challenging in the best way. Remember to use the soundtrack mod so you can play with the remastered tracks, and definitely turn Save Assist on. As for the ZX games: ZX 1 is good but confusing (you’ll…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played Megaman Zero 2, 3, and 4, but I never actually played the first game in the series. I also never played the ZX series due to ... circumstances surrounding the time. This cherished gift let me do all three, to beat the old games I never played... and also revisit the tragedy that is the Zero series. Anyway, this PC port is super accessible. Definitely a definitive way to define it, yo. Thank you . . . Fraga.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have played all of the Classic, X, and Z series Megaman games at this point, many of them multiple times (though god forbid I ever play X7 again). To say the least, I am quite well versed in the Megaman platformer series by now. My appreciation for these games goes far, and I particularly enjoy the Zero series for what it brings to the table. The Zero games are a particularly impressive series of games to me. The characters are interesting and the stories are highly emotional. It goes…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →23.) Mega Man ZX (Switch via Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection) Continuing my work in 2024 with the Zero sequel series. Surprisingly got into this immediately and really enjoy it as a Metroidvania attempt. Played as Aile and the Toku inspirations ran rampant. A solid game overall!
unlabelledView post →6 great games in 1 with a save system that makes gameplay more rewarding than save states or rewinding. Zero 3 is the best Mega Man game, and the Zero quadrilogy is probably the best narrative in the entire franchise; Mega Man Zero 4 still makes me cry.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the best way to officially play these games: generous infinitely useable checkpoints. IDK what they were thinking back in the day having such brutal difficulty with such a harsh continue system, but they have made amends for it now. Unfortunately, they did not bother to add cutscene skipping for the first game (and it's a little hacky to use it + checkpoints in the second) but hey.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Literally the coolest games out of the ENTIRE Mega Man Franchise IMO! Zero is rad I recommend ('o')
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great games, terrible port. If you have a ds, play them on that.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Capcom, wtf are these controls. AND you can't reconfig it? What genius thought of that crap?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Worth it just for Zero 3 alone.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Zero series is best in sidescrolling action in megaman series, Zx is great, Zx Advent is good just kind of bloaty, I wish I could just skip cutscene in Zero 1 and 2 because of save states you have to watch whole thing over and over again and I know they can make it possible to skip cutscene since they did that in Z chaser but in main game... why is that
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This collection includes the four Zero games for the GBA and the two ZX games for the DS. I had never played them before, but they turned out to be reaaaally good games, with a few flaws. As for the Zero games, they were absolutely BRUTAL, some of the hardest games I've ever played. It didn't help that you can't assign buttons to whatever fits you best. However, when you actually played them they were a lot of fun: the gameplay is good and the story is also one of the best in gaming. Also,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thank you so much capcom for giving the biggest hidden gems on the GBA and DS some love. They kept everything that made the originals great while getting rid of the few things that would've made it harder for new fans to get into these games. If you've never played em give em a shot!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had this game sitting in my library for a while before playing it. And oh my GOD is it amazing. This is probably the darkest the mega man series has gotten, but I think it's super well written. It had me emotional, hype, and excited all the way through. This is a must play for anyone who hasn't tried it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love gettiong the chance to play these awesome collection again. The Save assist is great for the tougher games. Consider downloading "Shader Glass" a free app within Steam (for many oldschool games) to get a much better graphical experience and softening than the game does with it's quite subpar CRT shader.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →God I love Zero, I sure hope nothing bad ever happens to him.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Controls are atrocious and unmappable. Insanity! The basic games are fantastic, of course, but steer clear unless you have a controller or they patch the game to allow key binding.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of my earliest gaming memories is playing Megaman Zero 2 on my old GBA. I never finished it as a kid, but it lived rent free in my brain ever since. So when I saw it on sale 15+ years later, I bought it without much toughts. I went in thinking, “Surely I was just a dumb kid who didn’t understand game mechanics.” Now I realize: I just suck. It's a good collection though, highly recommended if you enjoy pain, nostalgia, and pretending you're better at games than you really are.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection title screen music lives rent-free in my head
unlabelledView post →This is a case in which I'd give a neutral review, if I could. As Steam doesn't allow that, I'll round it up to a positive review. A fine collection of games with several new features. There's an easier difficulty option, a Save-Assist mode that adds checkpoints and does away with the lives system, a huge gallery and sound test, the possibility of playing Japanese versions of the games, new time trial challenges and an in-game achievement system. You can expect to find several characteristics…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The only issue with this game is that the platforming is very reminiscent of the bullshittery during the NES era and early 16-bit games....besides that the story is decent and the bosses are super fun to beat.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →oof these did not age well
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some of the best 2D action-platformers to ever exist.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If I ever made one, Zero 3 and 4 are both games that are guaranteed to go on one of those "play these games to know me better" lists and the remainder of the collection is fun The added "Save-Assist" feature this collection has helps cut a lot of the tedium that was baked into the "standard game design" of games made in the era these games came out in while not completely ruining the spirit behind those choices
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Casual scenario mode and save assist effectively solve most of the problems I have with these games. There's nothing to be done for the Zero games' writing, but at least they're fun to play!
