unlabelledView post →hit final ending credits on Mediterranea Inferno. there's really too much to say in a single post but suffice to say: play it. as a game, and especially as an example of how the visual novel format and experience can be pushed, it is unmissable store.steampowered.com/app/2103680/...

unlabelledView post →Again, I bought my copy through itch and it was about $7 Canadian. I suspect that the dev is selling it at a significant discount, because I previously bought their Mediterranea Inferno and that visual novel cost me around $20. Regardless, it's worth it just to support ambitious game development.
unlabelledView post →Game: Mediterranea Inferno - 10/10 Are you a gay, traumatized, substance-using & hypersexual gen-z Italian twink? Boy, do I have a game for you. The main theme, losing your youth to COVID, seems not to hit as hard for me. It still hurts, but I feel a few years dif could have made it devastating.

I met so many amazing new people and got to spend a week with friends I care about enormously. Mediterranea Inferno won an award I’ve been dreaming about for years. blog.arden.rip/editing-and-...
unlabelledView post →played Mediterranea Inferno today. game of identity and complicated/toxic friendships post pandemic in italy, with a trio of gay 25 year olds. their trauma, expectations, feelings during and after pandemic, feelings for each other. all very interesting. and visually very striking. #vn #indiegames

unlabelledView post →Sorry We’re Closed and Mediterranea Inferno were two of the games I played in 2024 that I enjoyed most, and Sorry We’re Closed was my favourite game of the year. All of these choices are phenomenal.
unlabelledView post →Mediterranea Inferno (2023) God you have to love when a game has a vision it refuses to compromise on. i respect this one so much for leaning into the eroticism and desire of homosexuality.. we need more weird horny shit right now! i wasn't too fond of the true end but I had a good time altogether
unlabelledView post →I played Mediterranea Inferno last night and holy SHIT I was not prepared for how dark and insane it gets - obvs diving back in today but I don’t think I’ve ever been gut punched by a game so hard before
unlabelledView post →i just started this game, Mediterranea Inferno, and its fucking INCREDIBLE
unlabelledView post →you know a game is bad when you're compelled to go back and replay a previous one from the same studio just to make sure you aren't going crazy I'm not, btw. Mediterranea Inferno was and is very good and worth your time. different developer though, and yooooou can tell!
unlabelledView post →Mediterranea Inferno is a good game. Seeing the places where I grew up through a queer-horror lens has been quite the experience. A mix of queer and southern Italian folklore, aggravating twinks, a freaking madame! If you got a couple hours spare, play this. store.steampowered.com/app/2103680/...
unlabelledView post →it kills me because there's no positive takeaway that I can discern, since nothing will change with the storefronts as a consequence and the game isn't worth being put on a pedestal. Santa Ragione has never made *great* games but after Mediterranea Inferno I believed they were better than this!

unlabelledView post →When it releases next week, I hope people make an effort to purchase Santa Ragione's Horses through GOG, Itch.io, Humble Bundle, or Epic Game Store. This indie studio has created some hauntingly surreal video games such as Mediterranea Inferno, and it would be a shame if they had to close.

unlabelledView post →Mediterranea Inferno is a wild game. I still don’t really know what happened in it when I played it but I really loved it.
unlabelledView post →I love both this game and MEDITERRANEA INFERNO for their absolutely unique visual style and for the way they poke at the tenderest part of my psyche.

unlabelledView post →I tend to play the same types of games repeatedly - but this year, I tried some games outside my comfort zone: Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet and Mediterranea Inferno. I am glad to have played both and tried something new. I won't replay either (for different reasons), but both are good games.
unlabelledView post →that these options even exist in the game is a net positive, i’m just being a picky bitch. if i want messier (more honest) queer writing, it exists in indie games, etc. (*cough* Mediterranea Inferno is $3 on Stream rn *cough cough*)
unlabelledView post →Totally see your point; I think story-driven games do have a lot of room to give players agency and allow to experience the story in different ways. From what I've played recently, I think "Mediterranea Inferno" is an interesting example, even though it's technically a small indie game.

unlabelledView post →This sucks, although I can understand anyone getting antsy after seeing the trailer. I'd recommend another game of theirs, Saturnalia, if you enjoy rustic horror, while I've heard stellar things about their homoerotic post-covid visual novel, Mediterranea Inferno www.eurogamer.net/its-extremel...
unlabelledView post →I mean I guess it comes off as bad faith, but this devs had multiple other steam games releases that seem to follow the same themes as this game and seem to have similar depictions, hell Mediterranea Inferno has a molestation scene. But this singular game has valve pausing. So what's the problem

unlabelledView post →Mediterranea Inferno The only game I’ve bought on three different platforms, I could talk about it endlessly! A game where ‘Pink Narcissus’ meets ‘Querelle’, it beautifully and horrifyingly sums up the feeling of being a queer person in the immediate aftermath of lockdown with decadent storytelling

unlabelledView post →There’s also a “so cheap that it changes how much I want it”, like I heard ONE stunningly strong rec for Mediterranea Inferno and otherwise crickets but at $4.50US one strong recommendation has me going “I heard that game was good” instead of the actual “I have heard almost nothing about it”
unlabelledView post →Well, that was an interesting game (Mediterranea Inferno). The ending was pretty fucked up, but overall, I didn't feel like the story was scary or anything lol. And also, the main characters were kinda annoying.

Same for #AlphaProtocol which I also finally played this year - great, except for all the rough edges. (Also, none of these came out in 2023 ;) - I only played 2 games that did, of which #MediterraneaInferno is probably the better). My most enjoyed thing though was #TheSpiritWorld : a #Quake mod & map pack!
