60 of 200 · most liked firstThis is a travesty. Obvious AI generated profiles of literally every npc that doesn't even try to match what the actual model looks like. There's basically no customization on the items you make, you just make the part and shove it together. You barely even get to see the forging process as the majority of your field of view is blocked by your giant ass hammer which wouldn't be too bad if you didn't need to strike specifically marked parts of the piece you're forging. Except you don't really,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This title has an insane amount of promise. But thus far I am not impressed. -The core gameplay loop is extremely rough and missing basic functionalities (Actually pricing your works, different prices between common - rare - legendary items, etc) There were posts back in September, where the Developers claimed to be working on the above issues. But half a year later, nothing seems to have happened. Instead they have pushed content updates for more gimmicky minigame systems, which to me is very…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have enjoyed this game, but to be frank, a lot of the negatove reviews are valid: there's no way I've seen to affect stats or rarity of the items you craft (besides a passive perk), so it is basically RNG of the materials you use. And recipes are static, so you can't add higher quality materials to make low grade stuff better. You can't assess an adventurer's stats or perks before hiring. My biggest gripe right now is that end-game mats that aren't mined are supremely hard to come by, to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly, I'm pretty split on this. I love the IDEA of games like this. The problem is, they are rarely ever executed well because too much emphasis is placed on one part of the experience and it's not balanced out in any meaningful way. In the case of Medieval Crafter: Blacksmith, everything just feels like a poorly slapped together asset-flip that used far too much AI. Not saying that AI was used in this game, as Steam isn't showing me anything about it (that I can see), but if you buy and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Introduction: Medieval Crafter Blacksmith is a mid Early Access game where you play as a dwarf, serving the kingdom as the next blacksmith, but really only customers come in your workshop making orders. A lot of things seems off with this game, so let's descend! Visuals:1 / 5 The trailers made this game look so cool, but reality hits hard like a sad handjob with how visually displeasing it looks in retrospect. NPCs have this PS2-era look, UV-mapping on certain structures are incorrect, the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sleeping DOES NOT save the game even though it says saving when you sleep. Lost several hours of playtime because I made this mistake. You gotta hit escape and actually save the game to keep your progress.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game isn't finished. That becomes obvious very quickly, but I decided to keep playing more hours to reach the endgame before writing this review. The world is full of unfinished and half-implemented features. For example, in your home there is a shelf with books that highlights with a white outline like other interactable objects, but when you try to interact with it, nothing happens at all. Another clear example is when you hire your third hero: the game tells you to go interact with the…

unlabelledView post →Despite leaving Early Access, Medieval Crafter: Blacksmith feels completely unfinished and is packed with half-implemented features that lead straight to dead ends. The main story abruptly stops without a proper ending, and the experience is constantly bogged down by annoying visual bugs. Worst of all, an incredibly boring grind kicks in almost immediately, forcing you into a loop of doing the exact same tedious tasks over and over. Once you realize there is absolutely no payoff or satisfying…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This title is clearly still in Early Access and the dev's let you know this, so I am trying to keep that in mind in this review. Well I enjoy these black smith sims as there are a few of them out on the market place now and there are some that are quite enjoyable that I would recommend over this title without hesitation, The fact is this game clearly needs to bake in the oven a good bit more before it could be considered in a release state, some Early Access titles seem to be pretty pristine…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I do not know why this has the automation tag, as I found absolutely no way to automate any of the smithing. I can't even buy more forges, which I would dearly like. There are various aspects of this game that tells me this should have been released into early access. There are areas that highlight like you can use them, but they do nothing. Maps in the mine do not match up with your positioning, particularly on the bottom floor. Weapons fit poorly onto the weapon racks. It feels like you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i really wish i could recommened the game, but its just endless grind back and forth, the arena is so late game its insane. the ratio on late game ore is off. it seems like theres cut content across the board, and it really makes me sad for it has the bones for something great
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Medieval Crafter: Blacksmith Review: There’s something oddly appealing about stepping into the soot-covered boots of a blacksmith, and Medieval Crafter: Blacksmith leans fully into that idea..

unlabelledView post →great potential, however lacks a lot of polish Update: proper feedback this time 1- Enchantment system is pointless. Costs 50, pays 67, needs 4 items, and the buffs are negligible (max ~6% reduction even when stacked). 2- Assembly system is broken—buggy interactions, incorrect chances, and inconsistent design. Some sets are overly complex while others (like Titanium) auto-complete. UI for placing gems is frustrating. 3- Arena feels rigged. Your hero is always weaker than opponents, and buffs…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an awesome game. I had an itch for a blacksmithing game ever since I played jacksmith on armor games 20 years ago. Alot of games have aspects of forging and blacksmithing but nothing ever scratched that itch as well as this game did. You can clearly see that alot of effort went into making this and it shines as a result. So far I'd say this is worth every cent and I'd like to thoroughly recommend this to anyone who has that same itch. I'm eager to see more content and I wouldn't even…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →With 6.6 hours recorded and 31 achievements obtained, I can say with all honesty that the game is somewhat worth the purchase (on sale). To me, I'm not at all interested in writing reviews, only on a select few where I feel something needs to be said. What the game delivers on; In my professional game testing experience, I can say this game has some decent potential, with a multitude of variety mechanics that makes the player think of what they need to do next. Do you need to mine? How are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game needs many Quality of Life updates. There are some bugs (I haven't encountered anything gamebreaking yet). Skill tree is lacking. This is a grind game but due to lack of many features, that grind is not satisfying. I really hoped developers would listen and focus on already existing features to solve their problems rather than introducing new ones but they didn't. Game has come out of early access but still feels like beta and rushed development.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would like to emphasize again what has already been mentioned here a few times. It's not so much that the game currently lacks content, but more about how the game cycle feels in general. Instead of being guided through the game from task to task, and you feel like you're a dwarf blacksmith who is making a difference in the world you find yourself in, i.e. you're having fun doing what you do, unfortunately it feels more like working through a checklist of tasks – e.g. in Excel – and in…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is very basic, which by itself is not a problem. Easy to turn your brain off and just enjoy without some of the over complication other smithing games throw at you. I can't recommend it, however, because of how unstable it is. It crashes constantly, even with graphics turned down to medium. I recommend waiting until something is done to address the instability.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Solid base game. Missing a bit of content or extension on some its content. Advise to improve this game: - Heroes: The heroes idea is pretty good but basic. I can put any item I craft to any hereos. It needs to have more granularity. Like Have Heavy heroes with Heavy hammer, some with leather armor and dual sword, Knife etc. I just ended up doing the same stuff to all my heroes. Shame. - More Weapon and Armor difference: It needs more type of armor. Like I said above, we need a heavy…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Went for this game because i love the idea of a shopping game. I love to "find" and "create" products. Next, setting up my shop? great! Blacksmithing? Cool! What it wound up after 58 minutes i dreaded making anything else. I understand its hard to get a fine line between gameplay and mass produce stuff. But the tweezers to pick stuff up, having to click on my hot bar to make sure i don't pick it up with my tweezers afterwards or else i cant interact with it on the table, dropping it on the…

unlabelledView post →All the negative reviews are true, all the positive ones are false. I should've listened to the negative ones... I should've refunded. But I felt I needed to see if there was more to offer. There wasn't. Don't be me. Bad gameplay and loop. Bad Graphics. Bad system. Empty mechanics like "water barrel cooler" when you can just leave things on the ground and it'll cool while you do other things. Leave one thing on the ground though and your FPS PLUMMETS. Also, hammering the forged weapon…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →{TL;DR} I wouldn't recommend it. It's repetitive in a bad way and the sim portion is shallow. The smithing portion and store management is missing a lot. I feel like it is a lesser supermarket together combined with a MMORPG's shallow gathering/crafting mechanic.. {Graphics} I didn't play this for graphics, ultra isn't really that different from very low. Nothing crazy, In outside in the morning generally have lighting problems causing the light to overlap objects. I would highly recommend it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Broken ultrawide support -- UI off screen, rendering the game unplayable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The gameplay loop is beyond boring. it is very unsatisfying to progress in this game. crafting is very cumbersome but you need to do extremely high volume of it. game pacing is very very slow.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A simple game for my simple mind. After work I just wanna hammer the ♥♥♥♥ out of stones and craft stuff.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This scratches an each every other fantasy black smith simulator couldn't. Actual mini games and mechanics to master to make better weapons and armour, mining to get what you need etc. Full disclosure it's rough around the edges, and could certainly do with a few polish revisions and adding int a few more systems and mechanics for the crafting processes. But certainly enjoyable and well worth the price tag.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is hideous game, Very unpolished and very simplified blacksmith sim without any meaning of what you are doing as player: no story behind anything, heroes looks like a basic Unity models without any design, story, dialogues etc - they're mindless bots who just bring stuff from raids, blacksmithing is just "click on circle" minigame and that's it. Don't ever buy this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I will change this later on but for now, i will give "keep an eye on it". The problem being it's still too rough, there's an annoying bug where an item you put on shelves change the sale value to a random one everytime you facing away from it, and plenty other stuff like hair clipping making the npc bald etc etc. Overall there's a good game inside, like diamond, it needs more processing to be smooth and appealing. If you have strong stomach for rough indie game go for it, but to me it needs a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I absolutely love this game — it feels like a nostalgic, more in‑depth version of Jacksmith on Coolmath Games, but with way more to do. It’s a bit buggy, but that’s completely understandable considering it’s being developed by only three people. Overall, it’s a solid 10/10 and I’d definitely recommend it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Personally the performance in this game is just something I can't deal with. I average 30-52 FPS, which constant lag spikes, which just ruins the experience. My specs is a 3600X and RTX 3060 12GB, and 64 GBs of DDR4-3600MHz RAM, so it's not an issue on my PC's part. I wish I could give this game an actual try, but the performance is just not there for me. Maybe if this is fixed in the future it'll be better. Oh yeah the game was on the lowest settings.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Im playing on the steam deck and so far the only issue i have is that it glitches sometimes when im on the Anvil and about to strike the items sweet spot. Everything else on this game is just the kind of game i was looking for so thank you so much for making this game. Amazing job.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Trying to review more of the games that I play- especially those that I enjoy. I bought this on sale, but would have enjoyed it for the full price. The world graphics were the only downside and I experienced only a handful of bugs (one of which I only had to save and restart to fix). The gameplay loop is fun, as you mine for the resources you need and then craft the items for the heroes to use, as well as to sell in your shop. The dwarf voice is fun and never got old to me. Glad I bought this…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rating: 10/10 Price Paid: $5 (Bundle Discount) I bought this game because I finally had a rare day off from work with absolutely nothing to do. It popped up in my recommendations for five bucks as a bundle deal since I owned another game from the publisher, so I figured, why not? I ended up playing this game straight from 9 AM to 9 PM. It is incredibly fun and addicting. I don’t quite know how to explain it, but it scratches the exact same itch in my brain as doing skilling (like smithing,…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →terrible. missing basic graphics settings for starters. theres visible holes in the world. fortunately you dont fall through them but the fact that you can see through the world to the abyss is not good. controls are a disaster. and all of the mechanics even in just the tutorial feel so simplified in some ways and overly complicated without explanation in others id rather play the other blacksmithing games i have. this is incomplete in a modern AAA title way and honestly shouldnt have been…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Medieval Crafter: Blacksmith is a medieval crafting and shop management simulation developed by Compact Core Games and published by GameDev.ist and Gamersky Games. Designed as a hands-on blacksmith experience within a light fantasy framework, the game places players at the center of their own forge, tasked with transforming raw materials into weapons, tools, and armor while gradually building reputation and influence in a small but evolving world. Rather than focusing on large-scale combat or…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Extremely jank game. I made one of the starter weapons - a copper hammer, and proceeded to heat the copper ingot (a block of stone) and hammer it into shape (a different sized block of stone), which I then used to craft a copper hammer (a crude, clearly stone hammer). This one's not for me boss.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simply made game, yet such a great idea, love the fact that you are not just blacksmithing, but gearing followers to send on quests, and run dungeons. love this game, please keep it up, and add more to it. love it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rough around the edges, but has the potential to be not only one of the most fun Sims, but also one of the most fun "Hero management" games. I hope they lean into this aspect and fully flesh it out with some sort of in depth progression. Maybe add some risk to it. Looking forward to what becomes of it, and hope they take all the feedback they are getting seriously.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun game! I've been reading the manga: Overgeared - MC is a blacksmith - and whilst listening to Forge from Glum Aleks, I felt like wanting to do some blacksmithing. This. Game. Is. It!! From gathering ores yourself to smelting them, pouring them in a mold, heating up the metal and hearing the metal clang whilst hammering away with ASWD and mouse control. It's just awesome! Googled the game, bought it the next day, downloaded, played it for the next 2,9h according to Steam xD Was slightly…

Potions and enchantments was a nice feature but kind of felt basic as well... - Progression and the guides to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Needlessly complicated and boring AF, honestly, I didn't get very far before quitting, it says a lot about a game when the tutorial is boring, I got the game because the trailer showed promise but from what little I experienced, it's so dull and uninteresting.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i've been playing a day in game every irl day (since the save function is kinda ass) but the game is genuinely good, its not that bad. the real problem is how the skill ceiling acts, you really only need to hammer things, there's no other skill that's relevant, that makes the game boring on the crafting part, but it still holds up with the whole adventuring thing.
