Matilda
Matilda Wormwood is an brilliant and intelligent little girl. Unfortunately, her parents, Harry and Zinnia, fail to see that fact. As time passes, she finally starts school and has a kind teacher, loyal friends, and a terrifying, sadistic headmistress. As she becomes fed up with the constant cruelty, she discovers she has a special gift that she just might be able to use to outwit the unruly adults around her. From TMDB

unlabelledView post →Such a beautiful tribute to your friend. Being a nerd, I was a fan of Harriet The Spy and Matilda as books before the movies were made. To this day, they are the 2 book-to-movie adaptations that still feel true. It's apparent now, that was in part due to casting authentic kids.
unlabelledView post →The 2025 Red Sonja film. It's not bad. Matilda Lutz is a good Red Sonja. The film itself is brought down by its low budget that keeps it unfocused. I liked the 1st half, the 2nd half less so. During the end credits, I was watching for @gailsimone.bsky.social . Found her! #film

unlabelledView post →Never read the books by @gailsimone.bsky.social but I just watched the recent #RedSonja film and I’m now eyeing the collected editions on Amazon because that film was so fun! Matilda Lutz was amazing! Went in with no expectations and came out wanting more. Sequel please!

While filming Matilda (1996), he and Rhea Perlman basically took in their 8-year-old co-star, Mara Wilson, after her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer early into production. Sadly, her mom died before the movie was released, but Danny visited her in the hospital to screen a near-complete cut of the film. According to Mara, Danny and Rhea are delightful people that bent over backwards to help her family. And that's just one of many stories of…

She's fitted with advanced prosthetics connected to the brain. As she takes the world by storm, suspicions emerge over whether her amputation was a deliberate choice.

unlabelledView post →I think it really can’t be understated how great Matilda is as Sonja. Sure they maybe could have cast someone with more muscle but her ability to convincingly switch from softly compassionate to rage and ferocity is what makes this film. She is the beating heart of Red Sonja.

unlabelledView post →My friend Andi and I just watched Red Sonja, starring Matilda Lutz from Revenge. I loved Lutz's performance, and enjoyed many elements of the film. Sadly, the awful screenplay wasn't one of them. Some good fight scenes, lots of cool ideas, and better acting than usual for a sword & sorcery flick.
unlabelledView post →Recently rewatched Matilda (1996) and if you took some scenes out of context, when Matilda was terrorizing Trenchbull at her house and the scene where the kids were reading out loud what was being written in the chalkboard and told me they came from a horror film I would have absolutely believed you
unlabelledView post →I loved Matilda the book growing up, and have grown to love the film. I was unfortunately not surprised to learn about his antisemitism. Matilda isn’t as bad as some of his others, but there’s a nasty streak of fatphobia and potentially transphobia throughout the whole thing.
unlabelledView post →I just finished watching Red Sonja. Matilda Lutz absolutely owns the role, bringing both strength and charisma to the character. The film feels like a perfect mix of Gladiator’s epic battles, Wonder Woman’s empowering spirit, and the raw sword-and-sorcery energy of Conan the Barbarian. (1/2)
